I could not count on the fingers of the both hands the number of people who gave me bad advice on getting a qualification before I ended up with a social science degree and even thereafter.
You might as well just call it "Psychological Philosophy" that makes more sense to me. Because it's not science but it would be useful in a quantifiable way. Just don't call it a science guys. Admit it, you just want to seem as clever as the natural science big boys who have all the cool tech and stuff.
Sociology is a science. We describe and try to explain the social world with specific methods, we collect data, we test hypotheses, we generalize our findings, we develop concepts, etc. If that isn't science, tell me what it is.
I understand your point but science is not solely about the technology, equipment and cool stuffs like you said. Science describes the idea of taking facts, data, and certain methods in coming up with a body of knowledge. So I think Social Science is a science.
