Sir during construction of column and beam there is how we can provide cover of concrete by increasing the grad . There is shuttering . After that we can do only plaster.

sir please specify the source for your first answer on concrete grade...i have seen concrete cover should be of same grade as per IS code

@@FactualCivilEngineering but sir I did also like to ask one thing if we avoided the use of cover in structure, except for base where reinforcements need to be put upon that...like for example in vertical walls...if the difference between the sheathing and outermost portion of rebar is already 40 mm; do I still need to purposely put cover? Can't I argue as an engineer to be economically saving use of concrete cover by already providing the required gap as per drawing specifications without its usage? Any other purpose of concrete cover than preventing of rebars from rusting by water or outside agents?
