Yep. All good information. Oil separator to decrease blowby. Heat shield the alternator. I went through four alternators. Also watch that timing chain!!! Mine started dragging at 60k miles. I remember how hot my legs would get after some good drive time from all the drivetrain heat.
Yes the interior cabin heat is absolutely insane. 1 complaint about driving that car for sure. It’s unbearable driving in the summertime here in Florida especially with the stock blower heat soak is a max problem.
Is that a Ported Blower? i had JOKERZ Performance port my Eaton and port match the Elbow. I already have the single blade TBody etc. and made 525rwhp/510rwtq. It’s a fun set up. Ohh the first thing I did was ditched the stock Cobra brakes as those PBR twins are crap. Went with BAERS Track kit and what a diff.
First of off I might be getting a 04 Yellow Mach 1 for my son 🤞🏼. Everything you mention I have or had (return style getting installed next month) but the IRS bushings. Either way these are some must have upgrades in a stock blower or aftermarket. When I had my Eaton with a 2.8 upper, JLT, Accufab Tb and elbow, o/r x and stingers with a Bama tune, made 458 and 490ish tq.
Definitely need those sunglasses in Florida! It shows. 😂😂 Sweet ride. There's an 03 red 30th anniversary bone stock sides the gay flowmaster mufflers on eBay right now. Been debating on buying it for 2 weeks now. Thinking about a borla stinger catback, 2.8 pulley, Cai and a tune once I buy it.
Inercoler tank yes i have one .rad tank hell no no benifits all it does is heat your coolant up more from underhood heat.the stock tank is way better...you can fight me on this its fine next time its 85 out drive the car for 1 hour and lay your arm on your tank.and ill gladly lay mine on the plastic stock one.
@@snakebitten1997 would my cobra be alright if I do hard 1-6 gear pulls on highway? I don't have a head cooling mod, only a new svt heat exchanger a 2.76 pulley on a ported eaton, making 483hp and 513 tq
A cold air intake would probably help u a lot more then a crappy ram intake the colder air helps a lot with keeping cold air going through manifold,Supercharger etc
I have new edge 99 svt cobra w/teksid block set up for road course open session track day events. all mods your mentioned, Done and lots more. I use a D1SC 15 lbs. Suspension and IRS bushings hard urethane, delrin, aluminum every where! going to almost all out race MM coil over suspension shortly and 6 point drag roll bar to stiffen chassis more, roll over and some T-bone protection. Aero mods are the tough ones for this era trying to keep it mustang oem looking and not too funky or ricey I have ZL1 1LE with factory wing which is a little ricey except at the TRACK and a couple other Mustangs - 17 GT350 and 19 GT with Bullitt tune & Track Pack suspension. 99 svt cobra my most costly car except for consumables --tires & brakes-- and it never ends, but it also has by far most HP and a reaL thrill when yeah hammer down in 3rd with warmed up race tires & 4th. 5th is what you dare past 160. speedo can go to about 170. Aero mods needed for sustained speeds above 150... you are heading the right direction especially your mind set. careful, it becomes a disease. This era of American Muscle car needs lots & lots of mods to effectively compete with todays better hotrods. Terminators slightly less and you hold value a little more
Awesome ride bro. Your headed in the right direction doing those mods first. Have you looked into the IFS Bushing kit from Fultiltboogie or Maxim motor sports? Cant wait to get my Cobra
Thanks bro! I haven’t yet but honestly 2020 has really put a dent in our plans like it has to most people. Can’t wait for you to get your Terminator as well dude. Anyone who busts their ass to get one deserves a well taken care of one! You will LOVE the car man!
@@snakebitten1997 yea man. Ive been doing my research. Like you were saying some owners do power mods first which is fine but some do like you were saying and do the reliability mods first. Theres a video of guy with a white cobra called- Review of incredible 03 Cobra Track car! Great video man of all the mods he did. Im sure you'll appreciate the video. I plan on setting mine up just like this guy did with few tweaks here and there!
Yeah I agree that focusing on suspension mods should be priority #1. When I got my Coyote, the first thing I did was slap a blower on it. Handled like shit whenever I tried to do a hit, my brother's n/a car was keeping up with me. After some frustration I finally started to mod the suspension, woke the car up so much that I almost couldn't believe it. So I say mod the suspeion first based on what your power goals are going to be down the road.
Traditional speaking it’s an endless cycle of fuel delivery so you never lean out. Pumps run at full voltage and sends fuel to injectors and returns back to the tank and never stops that cycle.
Just an FYI. Changing to a lower temperature thermostat does absolutely NOTHING for making a car run cooler. The thermostat dictates the lowest temperature that the coolant will be allowed to achieve, but nothing else. If your car is running hot, it'll run hot with a 190 or a 170.
Uhm, the fans would kick on sooner with a 170 degree thermostat. I live in Florida. So to have my fans kick on to help out the car in any way quicker with such heat soak and over 100 degree temps pretty much throughout the summer. I’ll take the 170 thermostat.
@@snakebitten1997 Has nothing to do with the fans at all. The fans have their own sensor and are controlled by the ECU. More misinformation. Running a 170 in your climate won't hurt, but it will do nothing to increase the cooling efficiency of your car.
Ok. Look, I know it won’t increase internal cooling efficiency. But that is a small thing that can help people who own this car, in hot ass climates such as Florida. It’s not an expensive thing to do. You don’t need to retune the car either with a different thermostat. You will just need to adjust the fans. (I’ve looked on forums FYI). Another thing you can do that I didn’t touch base on was do 80% distilled water 20% coolant with a bottle of redline to help with cooling. since you’re that technical picky person that will nitpick on anything.
@@snakebitten1997 Not looking to nitpick nor am I a troll. The common misconception that installing a lower temp thermostat will make a car run cooler is a pet peeve of mine. I watched your whole video, and the only thing I have an issue with is the thermostat part. Not a big deal in a warmer climate such as yours, but for those of us that live in places with a real winter, it could be an issue if the car doesn't get hot enough. This could result in over fueling and cylinder wash. No issues with the rest of the stuff you stated, taking into consideration that you stated that you like to do supporting mods first. Nice looking Terminator BTW. :)
I appreciate the explanation. I’m glad you enjoyed the video overall. I’m just a huge fan of these cars as is most everyone else. Also not a mechanic. I am most novice. But I will always try my best to be as correct and factual when talking about things that have to do with these cars. Thank you for watching and thank you for the compliment as well dude! Hope you stick around and watch more videos with all the stangs. 🇺🇸👍🏻
Weighs 3665 lbs, Convertible weighs 3780 lbs, which is funny, same exact weight as my 2013 ISF. BIG brakes are a good investment. Seems like cooling system, brakes and rear suspension. I saw another guy do the clutch and rear end but he was pushing 750 RWHP and started breaking things. Man, I miss modding boosted cars.
Absolutely. The car suits my driving style 100%. It’s a very reliable car. Their really isn’t any issues with the car. Just basic maintenance and a little extra upkeep to the fact it’s a supercharged car. But overall it’s a phenomenal buy. I’ve ridden in my friends 16 GT and it’s a nice car pulls hard but their ain’t nothing like a badass freight train that has almost zero technology. And if you get a low mileage clean one, the values are constantly going up so it’ll be worth way more than a 5.0
