Recently Nick and I sat down and we talked about how much our lives have changed for the better since having Hudson. So often you hear young parents that are frustrated and tired of taking care of their baby that they complain all the time. We found that these areas can be places for improvement and intimacy for us as a couple raising our baby boy. A lot of times if we choose to lean in to the difficult times of parenthood, marriage, and relationships, we learn a lot about each other and how to grow moving forward. There have been moments of extreme fatigue and frustration but also many moments of joy and excitement for what we're experiencing and what's to be expected moving forward. We are so grateful for a platform to share raw moments of our lives together, and we pray our little boy looks back at all these milestones and is happy we could share and learn together with you all. CHANNEL BACKGROUND // Nick and Chelsea are a 23 year old married couple living in South Carolina. They are expecting their first child in July of 2021! Chelsea has made videos on this channel for years starting in the beauty world and now venturing into the lifestyle/advice/family world. They both spend most of their time writing, capturing photos, and planning content around the issues that young adults face. They both have a podcast as well that calls out issues in culture, real life struggles, and fun times most of us go through like getting married or graduating school! The podcast is called "Encounter Now" with Nick and Chels.

It may not always feel like it, but these are magical days for your growing family. Those days were 25 years ago for me, and my son will be joining the ranks of fatherhood in a month. I miss those days, but look forward to the brief tastes of the magic that our soon-to-arrive grandson will bring. Blowouts. I remember them well. Those experiences completely eradicated my gag reflex. Still don't have one. Nothing like that phases me, courtesy of........blowouts.

We were only allowed one kitty in our apartment. She came with the name Muffin when we adopted her, but we only use that when she's in trouble lol..... she makes cute little "meep" sounds a lot, is very vocal and likes to lounge, so we call her meep, among other things such as seepy, moopy, mooperton, squeakerton, miss poop (plz dont ask), oopy-doo and the list only gets longer everyday.

I have a question as I am very early on in my first pregnancy, like 5 weeks. My husband is pretty much obsessed with playing videogames and I don't play. When we have our kid, I would rather him not play games when the baby, or eventually our kid and toddler, is awake because I want him to prioritize his new family. He disagreed with the idea, though, and claimed I'm just trying to give him rules and control him. How do you think I should communicate this desire to him without him getting defensive? I'm worried he won't be a hands-on dad when I really want him to be.

That’s a great question!! So Nick actually got a video game console when we had Hudson (like two weeks after) and I realized that he needed some sort of outlet to destress. I would say video games aren’t bad, but they should be limited just like we would social media! I’m sure your husband will be present, there probably needs to be a talk about limiting it and an open conversation on maybe some fears you have. We had to have that convo too!

I love this! My first of three babies had bad reflux and she puked every day of her first 18 months of life. I always kept a basket full of diapers and outfits in the trunk of my car for those yucky times. I love that you try to prepare for such blow out days but did not let it end your outing. There were times that I had to give myself a wipe off in the public restroom with the wet wipes that were meant for baby. Team work is so important! Keep loving and caring for sweet Hudson together.

I was a nanny for a year and I think it helped me to prepare for that fact that productivity definitely looks a lot different with a baby! My entire job was to look after children, sometimes only one, and often it took my entire attention. The cost it would take to hire somene to take care of your child is enormous, but when you do it yourself it can be harder to see the value in it. You are putting infinitely more value than that into them by being there as their parent. What you are doing is so important, and while you may not see it as productive now, think of the fruit it will produce in the future!
