I did not know about the cloaked Power shot, that alone makes me think this can be viable for me. I struggle hitting shots at all with the knives but it's IMO the most skillful weapon and makes me want to master it more. Appreciate the tips my man
There is no airborne inaccuracy with all weapons, the aim is always perfectly centered, it is the reticle or sights that move to the left which creates that illusion. You can test this by putting a small piece of tape (or use a board marker but that's an icky idea) on the center of your reticle while standing still and use that for aiming while airborne.
Go into practice range, jump and shoot a single bullet with an ak . Do that a couple times and you will notice that some bullets sway way off to the side even when ads'ing@@Echolaliaxu
While i could see how it could be tightend up a bit I actually prefer the physics. It alows proper leading on targets and keeps it from being a free spam when jumping around close range.
Not even arguably, you're airborne a good 15% of the time, especially with low gravity. The game should either allow for creative movement or build the maps for boots-on-the-ground gameplay. They clearly made their choice with map design, and need to balance the game to reflect that.
The slide and airborne “bloom” (idk what else to call it) effects all weapons. It’s dumb, but I suppose it’s their attempt at slowing things down a bit and making it less quake-esk. Personally I’m against it, the beta had full airborne and sliding accuracy and I thought it was great (though firing/recoil animations were a bit off when in those states).
The thing is that just taking out that shit from knives makes it a “viable” weapon, bc if not what, with the light build, u arent supposed to idk throw knives while movin and jumping? Bc it should be the point of it, like jet knifes in valorant (altough here they have fall effect which i find it perfecttly reasonable, but just like that knives shouldnt have that random spray, it defeats the purpose of this kinda ninja build of going running around jumping and trying clips with knives (which with this they are pure luck and little skill))
though, throwing knives disproportionately suffer from this balancing choice since they are unable to bypass the bloom by zooming in. I hope it was an oversight and will be changed soon.
throwing knives suffer more than guns because they can't aim down sights. when guns aim down sights they aren't affected by sliding and airborne "bloom."@@oli4809
Honestly I’m so sad I thought dash synergizes perfectly with a knives hit and run playstyle but I think this shows knives are more of an assassin playstyle. Do you think knives are just as valueable with dash?
dash is great because you can use dash between left clicks to dodge, even just flying right above their head if youre close enough the knives still suck though so 🤷
Throwing Knives is great with any specialization and every specialization can be used in unique ways that the others can’t replicate. Dash can be used to both correct your aim and maintain evasiveness. You shouldn’t ever use Throwing Knives’ secondary fire if you are actively dueling, but Dash lets you get away with it. You can also use it to swing/unswing corners while priming your secondary fire. It can be difficult to use properly with some primary fire since dash can cause you to go airborne unintentionally. Cloak can make use of the fact that you can begin the secondary fire animation THEN turn invisible for safe peeks. When the animation ends and you release the knife, it does NOT count as a new attack, giving you a sometimes-free primary attack follow up. Grapple Hook is obvious: Secondary Fire is 100% accurate, even while airborne. Useful for when you’re chasing around corners and covering great distance or when zipping into the air for a sick highlight clip. EDIT: Apparently Cloak can no longer interact with Throwing Knives in the way listed… EDIT 2: I’ve been lied to. EDIT 3: Grappling Hook is a lot better than I gave it credit for. Additional tip: Throwing Knives’ primary fire is inaccurate while airborne. While your Grappling Hook is connected, you are not considered airborne, making things like an airborne Circle Hook considerably more useful.
i don't know if you know this buddy, but every weapon in the game has random spread when airborne and not scoping in, so it's not a bug that needs to be "patched"
Bro it is balanced, if you don’t have spread, like you will be able to spam so hard, it’s meant to be very very close range weapon, like a shotgun, where you will hit when you are up close but you can’t just do a bunch of movement techs and still have perfect spread, doesn’t work like that my guy
Hot take about the spread - it shouldn't be removed. Random spread is useful as a randomiser like 'hipfire' if you aren't able to predict movement in a pinch. It's a last ditch resort and somewhat luck-based though
2:30 it's not a bug it's a feature, it's a part of weapons balance, ADS and movement accuracy. All weapons have ADS and hipfire accuracy relative to stand, crouch and move. And Right click have ADS buff. Also i disagree that it's a "precision" weapon, they kinda strong and don't have much skill expression if some one refuses to die from them, you can't control that IMHO, actually i think they are very easy to use except inconsistent.
It absolutely is necessary they spent half the video talking about the importance of getting headshots with the weapon. And on light whos playstyle needs them to be mobile?
@@bookmarker2891 there is different types of mobility, some weapons are mobile at gunfight, but with knifes you are using your mobility before fights, then you deal with it quick and easy from behind.
