Great looking speakers. I would love a set someday. I believe these were designed by JBL’s Greg Timbers. He loved horns. No one does horns as well as JBL. Thanks for the video!
Very interesting tweeter/midrange at the top, seems that most of the high end speakers are starting to have that. They look like they will sound good, and they better do for $7,000 a pair :)
Hi Audio Electronics thank you for your comment. I agree for the money they should perform...and they do. Considering all aspects of these loudspeakers...they are top notch. Enjoy the music!
I have a sansui with a vertically mounted tweeter horn like that and honestly I don't think I would have it horizontal myself though I'd be lying to myself if I said it sounded realistic this way. I can hear things overhead like this at times and honestly it's just fun when something pops up and it sounds absolutely huge. Sometimes its okay to just have fun with audio. Also yeah compression drivers or at least horn loaded drivers I find seem to just irk out more detail and dynamics. They can sometimes be a bit much depending on the implementation but when it's done right they really are hard to beat.
Hi Tetra thank you for your inquiry and feedback! I am to blame for Theresa not saying a word...too much passion from my side 😁. I didn't keep them, I actually wanted the Array1400 but none available at the time. However the Array 800s made me buy the M2s 👌
@@TheAudioCouple Hehe, I can see your passion. Good to hear that the Array800 helped you on your audiophile journey. Yes they do seem in short supply and scattered around the globe.
Hi Ajay thank for your inquiry. No only had them in for the review, but they are also one of those rare speakers that reproduce music with special magical quality. If I see a pair I am sure to share the details with you.
Hi Lars thank you for your inquiry. A 300b will work well on them, but just keep in mind that the Array 800 sensitivity is specified at 88dB/m so if you have a more powerful amp than the 300b, it will be preferred.
JBL has some great speakers, unfortunately their mass production business model, especially thier cheaper products have somewhat diluted the brand. However if it works for Yamaha there is no reason it shouldn't work for JBL.
