Thank you for a comprehensive review of this amazing equipment! My P5 and S5 will be driving my Magnepan 2.7 x speakers. Just wanted to make sure it was okay to stack my P5 on top of my S5 amplifier
Hi, @jamesmathews thank you for the feedback and your inquiry. I had several viewers also asking the same question. It is not the ideal situation to have them directly on top of one another, but in general, you will not find any performance problems by having them stacked. I had them stacked for the review making it easier to discuss the various features and specifics associated with each component. In the long run, it will be best to have them physically separated. Enjoy the music.
Hi again @klepp19, very good question. I also attempted to get more information on the material used for the diagram but could not find any accurate information. However, the overall sound from the Zero is very enjoyable with the tweeter being well-integrated and realistic sounding without being harsh. Enjoy the music.
Speaking of the Krell HTS with it's outstanding pre-amp, iam also drooling for the Krell KRC-HR or the KBL, so I have a hard time. So please help me out
Hi @anjovandijk thank you for your feedback and inquiry. I know what you mean. I only had a brief moment with the KRC but true to Krell it sounded amazing. I will see if I can do a review sometime in the future. Enjoy the music.
Fantastic review. What do you think if I use the S5 with a Marantz Cinema 50 or 30 as a preamp? Will that be inferior, sound quality wise, compared to the P5?
Hi @dragonstone, thank you for the feedback and inquiry much appreciated. Yes, the P5 is a very good companion for the S5 as stated in the review. The Marantz Cinema 30, as well as the Cinema 50 will also deliver exceptional results however they may not be as well matched as the P5 (precision and articulation). Depending on your loudspeakers and your sound signature preferences the Marantz Cinema 30 or 50 could well be just what you wanted, presumably using the processor in a surround system setup. In stereo mode the P5 will have an edge or will give you extended performance.
@@TheAudioCouple Ah, I understand. Thanks for the reply. I was thinking about pairing the S5 with the Wharfedale Elysian 2 and using the Marantz Cinema 50 as the processor. I'm not sure if external DAC's like the P5 are worth the price. But I guess I'll have to try it some time to listen for myself. :)
Thanks for the video! I recently picked up a DVD standard and a non functioning Krell showcase processor. I'll definitely get the showcase repairwd and make use it in my system
Hello Gareth, thank you for your feedback and sharing. I am certain that the Krell products will provide you with many years of excellent audio enjoyment.
Thank you @bluebuddha74 for your feedback and inquiry. These speakers will give you a vivid and lively sound with jazz and rock music. For classical music, it will create a large auditorium-type soundscape. Enjoy the music 🎶
Hey Nimrod and Theresa, excellent review! One question: do you hear hiss noise from the P5/S5 combo? Have you paired the P5 with another amplifier and noticed any siginificant hiss? I have read comments from acouple of other P5/S5 owners who complained about the loud hiss noise from P5.
Good day, thank you for your inquiry. The JC1+ is an excellent power amp. The deciding factor will be your loudspeakers and personal preference. The JC1+ is up there with the best.
@@TheAudioCouple thank you so much for your reply , I've narrowed down to Klipsch Cornwall 4 with parasound JC5 . As the jc1+ was shooting way out of budget.is the above combination good or should I consider any other options Thank you again
Hi @Bejamin thank you for your inquiry. The Classe combo has a slight edge over the Michi, but the Michi combo offers extremely high performance for the money.
Hi @guillermomartina, thank you for your thoughts I believe that today made in China can no longer be used to say a product is inferior. Apple devices are made in China, are they inferior - nope. But it is always good to get a wide range of opinions.
I hope this little review of mine helps someone... As I just installed the latest XPA-DR2 into my system. I have a first generation XPA-2 that I have owned since 2008. I have had a few amps through my system and always wind up "breaking the glass" and grabbing my old XPA-2. Well, I finally found an amplifier that I can now say the old XPA-2 can go into retirement. My other choices were the ATI and Parasound brands, both at twice the cost. I have a pretty simple system, Pi2 Mercury V2 streamer, Denafrips Venus II 12th DAC, Denafrips Athena preamp, XPA-DR2, a pair of SVS SB-3000 subs and a pair of KLH Model 5 speakers. I listen to mainly Blues and classic rock. At first, the DR2 was a bit warm, very boomy on the bass and not so great in the midrange. Then after about an hour, the veil was lifted and everything really started to smooth out. I am not an "Audiophile", I drive a truck for a living, this audio stuff is a hobby of mine, I am not a pro reviewer but am trying my best here. First off... What I noticed was how well the DR2 is able to separate the instruments. I was hearing instruments in recordings that I knew were there when I listened. With the DR2 those instruments are now there, there is no question like, "Did I just hear...?". It really cleans up in that regards, very detailed in its delivery, with no harshness or glare. It is a crisp sound, not Class D crisp, but A/B crisp like you will find in much more expensive amplifiers. Then the bass, very good delivery, it was boomy at first, the bass was very pronounced and muddy, I had to dial back my two SB3000 subs as the Model 5's were now night and day in that department, and not in a good way. After around a half hour or so the bass settled down, now we are talking, very clean in the delivery, faster, it hit harder and faster. I like this, and I did not need to dial the subs back up, but actually down a DB or two. The DR2 really delivers in the bass department. You can hear the roll off where I believe the producer wanted it, and in other tracks, where they did not. A very neutral and honest amplifier in regards to the bass as she burns in. Midrange, the human voice, fingers on the guitar strings, etc. Everything is vastly cleaner and clearer. Right along with the bass, once it settles in the sound is very true to what I believe the producer/artist was trying to convey. The added details the DR2 brings out of the recordings is just the icing on the cake. Same with the highs, no harshness, it is definitely not dry, it is simply a nice smooth delivery. The sound is very pleasant to listen to, like it should be. Now, the 800 pound gorilla in the room, Amir over at Audio Science Review. He reviewed the DR2 when it first came out, and basically killed it out of the gate with his distortion nonsense, that is not audible in the least when the power supply is doing its thing. That review held me back from purchasing this amp for a few years. I did some searching around and finally found some reviews from folks that actually own and use this amp, and they were all positive. I took a gamble and purchased mine with the 30 day no question return for my money back. Amir did Emotiva a huge disservice with that review. I cannot see paying twice the money for another amplifier, to my ears and my gear, I am at the point of diminishing returns. If you are looking at this amp, and have decent gear and speakers, I would seriously consider giving the XPA-DR2 a serious look. You have 30 days to audition. Mine is staying.
Hi @michaelwright thank you for your feedback and for sharing your thoughts and experience. I had the same experience with the DR2 it took around 30 to 45 minutes to settle, after which it provided excellent audio reproduction. Thank you again for sharing.
Would be nice to have little pauses in speech. I guess that is where you cut the video. But at it is it can get annoying. Also I would like to hear not only your thought about sound but your wife’s thoughts as well. Give her some room. Or do it by yourself and give it another name.
What I love about the M2s is that they combine the raw power and impact of a good PA system along with a very refined frequency response. Their controlled directivity makes in-room performance more predictable than most other speakers. Room placement and acoustic treatment will, of course improve the experience even more.
Updated: The Freya+ can ship stock with Tung sol 6sn7GTB, which are a big improvement over the original China made tubes. People have gotten even better results with Electro harmonix, sylvania, GE and PS vane tubes.
Thanks for the review i just received a pair of the sixes and am wondering can i plug a Tascam cassete deck into the line in and run it without further amplification
Good evening from Brittany, France. Thanks a lot for your review and your informations. Very interesting. I have contact with French distributor for these bookshelf speakers (Zingali Zero 6M). I use to listen a lot of inspirating music ! Contemporary Jazz, Classical, opera and pop. What kind of amplifier have you used for your test and what kind of amplifier - not too expensive - could be interesting to ear with ? Thank you. My best regards.
Good day and greetings. Thank you for your inquiry. I reviewed the speakers with the Emotiva fully balanced XPA DR-2 also Quad 909 and Mark Levinson 532H. Surprisingly, the Emotiva produce a very musical palette. So the Emotiva comes highly recommended as the synergy is just amazing...however if you prefer a warmer presentation, the Quad 909 also gave a good overall performance. Valve based amplifier designs would also work well, but higher than 10 watts per channel is recommended.
@@TheAudioCouple Thanks for your informations. Yes, vacuum amplifiers could be interesting to listen with Zingali Zéro : Unison research, Synthesis, Jadis, Leben.. Sincerely.
Hi @f thank you for your inquiry. These are amazing loudspeakers full-stop. They perform better than most at their price point and if partnered with good ancillary equipment they deliver the goods. The best part is their ability to project the sound into the listing area with both musically and finesse. If you have the opportunity to audition them, I am convinced you will be impressed as well.
This review never tapped into the sound quality of this superb preamp. If you were using 0 gain. The key for the sound of the 326S is what gain setting did you use, 0-18db, I own this preamp, and the Mark Levinson 532H the matching amp, on 0db gain lifeless, 6db, very clean and a bit more dynamics, 12db I used for years now dynamics and more weight, kills the other settings. The last one I tried just a few days ago for the fun of it was the 12db settingl. I could not believe this was the same system on the 12db setting, so depending on where you had the 326S gain setting set or the 380S yes, one could sound much leaner than the other. I could live with the 6db gain setting but the 12db gain is the one where this preamp shines and brings music to life. )db gain is lifeless with detail only much like a passive preamp.
Hello, Sir please help. I want to increase vocals(mid) level. can we use the equaliser and can we change bass, mid, and treble with The Klipsch Control App from my one plus android mob? is there any app for Klipsch sixes? please help. can use this app for control. like this video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-WhAanMd0SsQ.html
Hello sir, I want use klipsch sixes with my oneplus tv. Sixes works with my tv. But i want increase mid level for vocal, i tried to change in tv equalizer, Even on my OnePlus TV, the equalizer only works with it self in built Speaker's, the TV equalizer doesn't work for the TV audio outputs (such as bluetooth, optical). I want control in sixes. Fives has Eq control app to save Eq settings in their speakers. Can use fives eq app to sixes. I want increase mid with my tv. I cant hear vocals(voise) clearly with my tv.

I've watched your review a number of times now. Really well put together. I am currently in the market for a set of powere speakers for my living room (TV and music listening) I'm so confused between the 6s,7s and 9s. If you've had a chance to listen to the other 2, I would appreciate your recommendation. Best wishes. Shaz
Thank Nimod for a great review. And a big thanks to Roy for making all our life better with making these products. I am in a very fortunate position to have just about a pair of each in the range and find them just incredible, with the 10.2 elevating to another dimension or dare I say galaxy! These speaker are both fabulous and forgiving at the same time. And then the man behind it all is a gentleman and to a lot of us a superhero. I have experienced new sounds in old and very much listened to music. New dimensions to the sound that has never been heard before. Thanks for making everyone's life better in one way or antoher.
When you took out the horn and woofer were they using wood screws or nuts and threaded bolts so you can take on and off without stripping the screw holes?
Thank you Audio Couple for this relistic review, I concur 101% with your ear's findings. The Sonor Audio Claro 10.2s is one of the most captivating speakers I have ever experienced. They are just absolutely Wow, and honest to the utmost. I can try to explain the performance, like with a 911 or a Tesla, but you must experience this for yourself, as you did Audio Couple. Finish is typical Sonor, superb. Sound is unbelievably awesome, goose bumps. Thank you Sonor Audio for this creation, definitely your best to date. And thanks to you Audio Couple, for re affirmation of the Sonor Claro 10.2s.
Hi Fantastic Couple please tell me what should I get here in Australia the Michi P5 for $6k or the Krell 707 EVO processor/preamp( NO 3D ) for $10K and the intention is to use it as 2 channel only please help me as I need make an offer soon?..... honestly I think that the Krell is a little bit over price as most of those inputs aren't comparable anymore with todays formats!is becoming useless but please tell me which one sounds better when using the pre amp 2 Chanel thanks I like to make the purchase soon. Thanks
Hi Robert thank you for your inquiry. It basically comes down to your loudspeakers. If they are a bit forward sounding...go with Michi. If your loudspeakers need some serious drive the Krell will be best.
@@TheAudioCouple but don't you think 10k is too much money for using only 2 channel reproduction considering the size, its old, no digital formats capability can not even use balance subs when is use as 2 channel for music only (please correct me if I'm wrong).. I hear Krell has a good sound but I was very sad when the salesman was giving me a demo and suddenly realise he was running an external DAC and he refused to use it without it! then I ask what are you hiding? so please Couple tell me Is the sound alone of Krell 707 EVO worth $10K Australian,$8K US ? for only music reproduction?
@@robertrevelo1624 If you can get the Krell at below 10k let's say 7k it will be an excellent buy. The sound from the Krell is fantastic is you have decent power amplifiers and loudspeakers. The Krell is intended for large scale implementation. Thus for larger rooms...but will be equally perform well in medium size rooms. The performance of the Krell is still reference class even in today's market.
@@robertrevelo1624 thank you for sharing ! Wow amazing. If your listening room is large, I fully recommend the Krell, however if it is small to medium go with the Michi or even Mark Levinson. If you prefer a valve preamp go for the Audio Research Ref 6.
Thank you Nimrod and Teresa for a genuine and honest review. You have managed to accurately describe my own experience of living with the Claro 10.2’s. As my daily speaker, they have allowed me to experience music that I thought I knew very well, at a whole new musical level - music just makes sense! ‘Stuff’ that was previously musically inaccessible, is a joy to experience. Thank you to Roy from Sonor Audio for a masterclass creation.
No speaker that I have heard in my 30 odd years in the business turns me on quite like the Claro 10.2's! They literally tick all the 'music lover' and 'audiophile' boxes. Looking at their sheer size, one expects to be overwhelmed, but no, play something delicate and the presentation is exquisite, or play a 64' organ note and the air around you vibrates with the force of the energy. Sonor Audio have always designed speakers that involve the listener in the performance, but the 10.2's take this to the next level entirely. Anyone considering speakers in the +- USD18k range MUST audition these, there will be tears if you don"t!
