This summer, I took a river boat cruise along the Seine to get inspiration from the many places the first impressionists painted, and I then traveled all across France, from Etretat to Provence, gathering inspiration. This painting captures the beautiful lavender fields of Provence, captured during the golden light of dawn. The stone house nestled among the cypress trees demanded to be included in the painting.
