To all those that think it’s just a game of tag: I ve seen the the sharp historical weapons, a mere touch with light pressure would make the tip go inches into a human body.
There's an electrode in the glove that touches the sword, when it completes a connection between the sensor on your suit to the opponent's suit it registers a touch.
Because here we are typing this on our device and there the athletes are working their asses off on a daily basis to present to you a few snippets of their athleticism. That's why to you your words, and to them , their sWORDS, ALLEZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Fencing is weird because even though it looked like it was a nothing touch with no power, the mere fact that she got the tap just before the opponent (even though the opponents touch was far better) means that she won the point. I wish fencing would be more like actual sword fighting. Or bring HEMA to the Olympics or something, it would be much more entertaining.
When me and friend play that... . Our scoring mechanics are.. . Draw points(1*)- hitted but revenge within 1second. Solo point(1*)- hit but didnt get hit back or revenge. Combo points(2*)-hits within 0.3 second rule. Critical points(3*)- significant attack or strike used. Techincal points. RING OUT: negative 3m doubles the scoring of rival for 3rounds consecutive. -alternative for elite battle= immuned 1point deduction for 3rounds. ECT
Everyone complaining that this isn’t like real sword fighting… Maybe, but if I jumped in the air and stabbed you in the face with a real sword as you were charging at me you’d probably lose an eye bare minimum sooooooo how is that not relative to actual sword play?
@@user-sz4bf3uq6u well if you put it like that, then volleyball is don't let the balloon touch the ground, but more intense. Rugby is play fighting with food against your family except more intense. I love these sports, I'm really just kidding
Okay, but how did Anqi miss her foot? She was aiming at the top of Popescu's foot, and then Popescu jumped into the blade. Popescu's jumping touch was impressive, but it should never have worked if Xu had just hit her target.
@@horiabalaban5967 actually, it does have points. The point scoring area for epee is full body. The reason the opponent didnt get the point in this video is that, she missed to touch for a split second by her opponent's sudden jump and lost contact. You could see it here on 0:33. Popescu capitalized that milli second and touched her opponent at the head first and got the point. This is the reason Anqi didn't get the point.
Romania has a point lead in the final game (3v3, each fencer fences everyone on the other team) with less than 10 seconds left on the clock. This forces the Chinese fencer to run at her opponent because she doesn’t have the time to properly fence. The Romanian fencer jumped and flicked (the blade can bend, and you can make the blade bend mid bout using a certain technique) the Chinese fencer on the back. This is pretty stylish, and also during a huge match.
