Thank you Sir! I show your videos to my 156 Zoom Ceramics students. They all have a bag of clay at home and are working remotely- making messes in mom’s kitchens! 😉

Simon, when I try to use the yogurt container for a rounder, I find that a vacuum forms and sucks the side of my mug in. What am I doing wrong?

I'm not Simon, but maybe drill a hole in the bottom of the plastic to keep from getting a vacuum.?

@@coopart1 Thx Jeff, I tried that, but I may need to make a larger hole. It still sucked the sides in when I tried to remove it

@@bettytaylor9430 it's a fun journey though is it not? I'm still fairly new to pottery and can remember not long ago just being happy I could pull a three inch high cylinder and out of round was not even a concern!! Lol

I’m not Simon either... but I’d say your pot is too wet. Gently round it with the yoghurt pot when the clay is leather hard and it shouldn’t stick or deform. Another option is to throw and bisque a yoghurt pot shaped form and use that instead - the bisque shouldn’t stick to leather hard clay 👍
