I was also testing and I put the distance from the enemies for each record at a minimum of 5.0. That fixed for me the time that the characters waste running around the enemies and now the straight up uses sword arts. Also I don't recommend to put it below 5.0 because some enemies that are too big the can't stay that close so characters keep running toward them and do nothing. This worked for me so I hope that this help somebody.

Well, this is specified for tank and support capability so he won't die and help me doing chain burst skill. You can make him more tanky by putting code arts specified for the defense so he can blocks and counter enemy strikes. But that is up to you ^^

This seems like it would be really fun to tinker with and justify all the other issues the game has been having...if you could just manually program these behaviors. Needing to "record" them in a way where you're not even sure if the game will register them the way you want...makes it feel a lot more like a chore. If it wasn't for that this would feel very familiar to the FFXII Gambit system.

Or... just use the network menu. Like I just did. This is more for people who want there AI to fight in certain way. That's why the designer's left it as so. For the freedom. What they did wrong is not explain the system.

I agree if there was slightly better explanation about the distances, are they exact or within? Just the system in general. Being able to put in precise values instead of the sliders or use both, they show a map up there but when you change things your icons on the map don't change. And to just be able to set do this do that without doing it myself would be nice. Recording it is one way but what if the AI won't record it? I've been using Asuna's EX 500 proficiency skill and it wont record to anything. Where I could easily just go into the menu and set do this skill.

@@whitefang1987 as hard as this is to read I'm assuming you'll need to tweak ur persona. Witch Asuna and you should be able to put a manual skill. Otherwise you'd start by manually locking the *specific skill in place.* In when or where you want the attack. Nobody goes through formation placement properly. They always set the attack radius to 0.1 which makes the ai's run to the side and run into the monsters

@@swiftpain8357 Not quite sure I understand this comment. I've been tweaking them for about a month and my AI won't fight like some of those pictured in these videos & others. Some values have gotten better through explanations from others. Setting the wait frames to 0.1 so they wont wait so long that they never actually use the skill or the follow up skill, turning the available for chain to off so they will use the skill even if a chain isn't available. Distance is still a bit sketchy I've gone through a few different values 0.1, 1, 5, 10, 15, 20, 100; I think someone suggested 100 as it's a within distance so i'm seeing if that helps them to decide on an action even if it means move to a different set location if it get's them to take action thats good but just the records in general for getting them to atk is hard to make sense of. I'm not a fan of just copy them from those highest ranked as those don't necessarily have my chars do anything more or less than they already did, and you cant customize the one's you download. It's slowly improving though as my group of 4 (kirito, alice, asuna, shinon) finally downed our 1st lvl 81. It wasn't as fast, some of them died, some didn't atk enough to keep the boss in a hazzard state & it wasn't as pretty as some of these videos that 1 shot it or otherwise but it's gotten better.

The position when you record is important too : when you record a combo, if the mob turn or you hits like this : Combo 1 FRONT, Combo 2 FRONT, Combo 3 BEHIND, npc got a brainfuck on other priority combo if they havn't the same position, and run like idiot all around the mob. Try to record your combo always at the same position like : DPS always behind the mob, TANK always in front, HEAL on side, etc for all your combo on Art Code, and i think this fix the running problem. (its so bad we can't modify this manualy on records menu..)

@@edmundmondo1682 Thats why I only use 1 AI just to do Chain Burst lvl 3 quicker to kill everything quicker and let me say nothing in Normal mode Survives longer than a Minute. On Hard mode only DB and Raids still take some time but still quite Easy

Can you make some more arts codes guides from other types of status effects maybe one for each class like you did with this one handed sword skills lol or at least explain what each one does like situations variables and how to make the perfect tank please ? lol like also what does the Stock Area mean? its at the bottom of the arts code screen menu? It appears sometimes like a recycle bin of your last removed segment ? oh A/ I can't download your art codes causes I'm using USA server tried to but didn't work but its okay cause B/ I realize I would rather not download anyone elses code cause you can't edit them in your inventory all you can do is like them, you can't tweak them which is pointless using other people's codes.

Can this be set up manually in the menu instead of having to jump through hoops to “record” stuff with RNG? Seems dumb as h*** tbh. Can you even rename the “records?” Don’t know who saw the FF12 system and thought this was better, but it ain’t it chief. Missed the mark imo. Amazed that all these years later people still can’t steal that FF12 AI system correctly.

I been eye balling this game for a while and wondering if its worth pickup in 2023. Biggest issue I had with previous games is story was lack luster and like 80% light novel. Combat combo was fun but enemies were hella hit sponge . Unless it's a dmc game, doing a 200hit combo to kill 1 enemy is terrible

Alright, I am on Chapter 2-2 and I realised after finishing chapter 1, the enemies are literal tanking machines. Is there any tips on what to do to get stronger, I even have quests that are only 2 levels higher than me and they are common "kill something" quests but the enemies are tanking everything. I can kill them it just takes me a while and i'm just spamming the attack button and linking skills. Thank you.

First thing I would do is try and grab a few passives as they can change your damage allot. First one i would get is "rule by the strong". You can get it from the bow tree so it is fairly easy to get. It effectively doubles your risk meter and the bonus you get to your damage. Next I would grab "Sturdy body" from the DEF tree, this would give you more survivability with 20% extra hp. "Blade dance" from the DW tree is another great one as it adds a second hit to all your attacks and sword skills, the dmg is reduced but the hazard gage increases the same as a full hit so you can get hazard chains faster. Lastly when you can access the scout tree I would grab "killing blow" this increases your crit dmg by 30%. Another thing that can help is to max lisbeth's affinity and persona so you can then equips it. Hers is "fiery" and will add 50% crit chance. Another handy thing will be to get used to manualy telling your team to do sword skills together to build up the bonus dmg from linking them. Finaly try and focus more on your sword skills and use normal attacks to just build sp as you will get more dmg from them. Also dont worry to much about your attack stat as when you crit it hits for full damage so its not needed. Sorry its so long but hope that helps :)

Have you already tried recording skills with Renly? Because I've already tried recording the same combos for hours and it's still not even recording anything. It only records with Boundless Wing when I add it on the combo but only specifically Boundless Wing and that's it. It does not record without it.

The wait frames was a good explanation. Most of mine were set to the max 300 so they just stood there between attacks. The problem I'm still facing as I've set up a few is still getting them to stop standing around thinking about what to do next & just do it as well as what order to set the priorities on them chain over debuff over rush? ... or some other order etc.... Is it better to have your record have a full 22/22 path or keep them short & sweet?

So I think I got most of it setup how you would think, so when they start doing stuff they seem to gel. Next seems to be customizing the distances and where every char likes to hang out, so they aren't running around trying to get to 5m or 10m or 20m to execute an attack they can just be in the right place and do it. The skills don't say where you need to be ideally, the char's don't say where they like to just naturally hang out, and when you record them the distance is all over the board so it's hard to say if it's a use within this distance or at this distance, cause if I set it to 0.1 it doesnt seem to force my char to go in close and exe the attack, but if the enemy walks up to them then they hit it.

I do something similar to this however I use the Fox boss inside that narrow cave in the east empire as it has Defensive, Riled, Enhanced and Finisher formations to train A.I to. The Fox boss is easy to react to, is not too fast and since the cave is small you can quickly leave after filling the code you're raising without fear of a impending Executioner's Scream as you can despawn him faster than it can cast save, review, and repeat.

Also I feel like the grid that you see when scrolling on a recorded A.C behavior is what is mainly affecting the a.i's behavioral response speed, I think that is how the game "photographed" the action and thus wastes time trying to recreate where it was pictured being in that graph with the blue dots. If the graph is truly like that it would explain being able to record so many of the exact same actions in the same code.

When it records another sword skill, it makes the rest of the sword skills in the same segment before it branches to become blank.

Might be because I use different software for pre-recorded and live, plus I talk a lot faster in live lol. Removing the loud PS4 fan noise does mess with the audio a bit though.

use the Firespark skill in the Scout Tree to Allow Solo Chain Burst, From there you just need 1 AI to hit Chain Burst lvl 3 if you want lvl 4 than use the Beauty Incarnation since that Unlocks lvl 4 chain burst aswell as 50% chain burst dmg

Sadly this method doesn't work as well for weapons without Debuff skill(two-handed), or weapons wirh only Debuffs(Whip). It also doesn't work for Katana very well, as the game keeps recording every skill I use as attempting to chain, even if I'm attacking alone.

It's definitely harder to figure out how the game will register skills from certain weapons. You'll need to be really selective and deliberate with the skills you use. For Two-handed specifically, use Last Arc Avenger on it's own in the middle of an enemy's attack, since that triggers the stronger hit. Then the game should register it as 'Interfere with enemy attacks. Calamity registers easily when used on a downed enemy, and an Avalanche into Meteor fall combo registers when breaking enemy guard. It can take a lot of trial and error, but eventually you'll make codes that can work for you.

I tried it with bow user. It's hard. I don't know why but my main character keeps doing umbra element which I never use and is not even in the records. Does that also happen to you? I mean the said character doing sacred arts even when it's not in the records?

Is you bow user set to Scout? Scout AI seems to use certain umbral sacred arts by default.

I see. Thanks. However it feels like my bow character now just use auto attack and doesn't use the record at all for a long period of time when set in Attacker and Berserker. While debuffer use also a sacred art, it at least do the records. The distance when attack the enemy is sometimes the same as 20 meters or 5 meters when it is set on higher than 20 meters.

I feel dumb asking but the dailies asking to land 20 secret arts at a enemy, i can't seem to get it to work. Ill do the swings and and trigger the special arts and still doesn't count at all.

So basically it's the method of use Kirito to set up the desired things and then copy them over to other characters.

Yup, if you're doing something basic. It's better to use the actual character if you want them to do something specific. You'll probably spend more time watching how they react to your changes though.

I would love to Play PSO2 in English but I just have a PS4 with a JP Account to play PSO2 cant read a Thing but I watch videos and use the websites aswell as watch a Streamer whos played since beta or something so I can do up to lvl 90s Solo but anything higher I just fail

AI doesn't consume SP unless you command them.

Nah, it just depends which one you have set. Since I don't plan on keeping the default, I just deleted what it contained until I decide to fix it later.

From what I remember Strike Nova gets registered as a rush attack. Hail of bullets into Fix Peer seems to work well when registered to 'Never miss a chain opportunity'.
