Another great fishing video with awesome fish, I'm having an I'm not worthy moment. I see you don't work the lures a lot, is that because you're drifting in the canoe as opposed to being on land?
@fishingmad
@fishingmad 11 месяцев назад
Many lures and plastics I work very slowly. It really gives the fish time to commit. Some lures need to be worked faster, but often working them slow works well. Yes also the drift and current helps and many lures and plastics have good action even when your not working them
@joeblow597

Thanks for the reply, I will try that, maybe I am working mine too fast at times, will try more variations of lures as well, thanks for the advice.

No problems at all. especially whilst the water temp is a bit cooler i tend to work the lures and plastics a bit slower. Add some scent to if its quiet.

Hi Alan I got an interesting laminated card 15 by 21 cm from a tackle shop . Titled " I've gone paddling " from maritime safety / boating Victoria. It's reusable & uses a white board marker . Can be left on car dashboard. Details of my trip . Departure time , I'll be back time , if I'm not back contact details . Even a spot for kayak photo to help identify your yak . Other side has more info your contact No & + family contact . With more people on the water soon could be an interesting video topic . Stay safe everyone 😊

Hi mate, very nice clip. What Reaction are you using? I nearly bought one the other day. How do you find it?
@fishingmad

It was a Samurai Infinite 2-6lb, very expensive rods but very nice to use.

Great fishing video mate, how do you protect your phone out on the water ????
@fishingmad
@fishingmad 11 месяцев назад
I often put it in a protective waterproof casing. Or at times I get a bit lazy and just store it in the kayak front hatch or my waterproof jacket pocket.

Many great options which we also used in this vid hard to go past Zman ST Grubz, 4 inch turtlback worms, jackall chubbies, shimano BT bantam baits

3 inch and 4 inch paddletails are awesome for those species

Daiwa slippery dogs in shallow water for flathead, bream and whiting can be very effective and for jewfish vibes can be pretty good

How deep are you fishing using softbait lures? Thanks!
@fishingmad
@fishingmad 11 месяцев назад
This vid was done at Bemm river which is quite shallow under 2 meters for most part, however we use the same techniques in many systems much deeper
@pitotoyhooks
@pitotoyhooks 11 месяцев назад
@@fishingmad do you think using soft lures for 5m max depth would still be effective? And do i have to use heavy jigheads for that kind of depth so it can reach the bottom and jig it much better? Thanks. I am still very new to soft baits, and learning from your vids.

No doubt theres a argument in changing up your lures and trying new techniques i do it alot but when something works people tend to revert back to what they know and lets be honest here no lure has put more fish in boats as the Berkley Gulp turtleback worm in pumpkin seed doesnt matter the species of fish they all fall victim to them
@fishingmad
@fishingmad 11 месяцев назад
LOL 100% I would agree with that. No matter how many different lures and plastics i use ( and I use a lot of different ones ) I still have favourites that I always go back to like the turtlebacks and grubz
