You are genuinely the best woodworker/carpenter/woodturner/artist/creative person I have ever watched.. by a long way. I don't understand why you don't have 10 million subscribers by now.
I have been waiting patiently for your next video, and Boy have you knocked it out of the ball-park! I love this format, not only do we see your fantastic work, but you take us along on the journey of your problem-solving thought process. Keep up the good work.
Spinningly genius, as always! Your inventive solutions to challenges that come up as you work are just as amazingly creative as the pieces themselves! Thanks for sharing! Also, it would be fun to throw dice down the wormhole as part of a game. Cheers!🎲🎲😊
It’s taken me a couple of days to watch your video as I’ve just come back from three weeks near Paris with what I call my French family, about 750km from you. You are such a patient and talented young man and coincidentally I showed your previous worm hole video to them last week. I admire your work so much, enjoyed your voice over and you echoed my son’s expression: “That’s a problem for an older me.” And the “All I need to do is…” is about the extent of my mediocre talent. 🌞
you're back!!! Always before you have had a disclaimer that you are not a teacher, don't take this as a teaching video. But, wow, listening to your thoughts on this video, one can't help but learn about wood and craftmanship, and how to hate sanding. :D
You're an inspiration. I personally enjoy the creative approach to problem solving as much as the pieces themselves. As somebody that also tries to play with woodworking and woodturning, i would like to thank you for sharing your artistry
Just yesterday, I was thinking, "Gee, I haven't seen Olivier in a long time," and here you are. Love the changes in the wormhole tables and I so wish I could afford one. Love that you've ventured into metal working. Thank you for such a nice video, and it's really nice seeing you back.
Good morning 🌅, Excellent work, you still might be able to drill or bore hole in at the angle, and I did think you might have done the support for the glass probably out of bronze or brass, it is just a suggestion. It might be worth making a five armed steady., good luck with your projects,
Olivier, I hope you understand how extremely talented you are. This furniture is amazingly unique and breathtakingly beautiful. Incredible woodworking.
Just when you thought this channel couldn't get any better a metal lathe and milling machine appeared 😀 Dude 🙂 you're going to have a lot of fun with your new toys, i have a mill and metal lathe myself, well played good sir, really looking forward to your future creations 🙂
Man, your jigs are 10 times nicer than anything I could ever hope to make… 😆😭 The finished projects are breathtaking works of art. You are so creative and talented. Awesome job! And the humor is [*chef’s kiss*]. 🤣🤌🏼
Great to see a man who enjoys every aspect of his craft. Not a single part of it that he doesn't enjoy. Nothing but pure joy throughout. Definitely no hate. Sanding.
Two comments... I have never giggled so much watching a woodworking video, and ... your translation of your friend's response conveyed only a small touch of what his intended response was. 😄😄😄
I am with you...I hate sanding too 😅 Beautiful work, as always. My cat would LOVE the marble table lol Thank you for turning actual wood on the lathe, and knowing it is for wood. Not sure why it annoys me when people will put a block of resin on a lathe and still call it woodturning...That's not woodturning, that's resin-turning 😅 ❤
Regarding the vibration issue you were having when boring that large cylinder - You're absolutely right about the cause of the problem, and it happens elsewhere. This exact issue occurs when refinishing automotive drums and rotors. The solution there is to wrap a rubber vibration dampener around the outside of the piece. If you have to do this or something similar again, you might be able to use a similar solution.
I'm so sad my Grampa Dumesnil isn't around to see your work. He had his own shop he did both wood and metal work in. He would loved your skill, creativity, and sense of humor. ❤
Sanding is the most wurst part of each craftmanship... hours and hours keeps running away... and definly nothing real changes!!! Keep on sanding!!! 😂 Your wormholes are totaly epic... amazing... breathtaking!!! I'm retired from work... never get enough money to buy a wormhole-marble- table.... but... I would love to own!!! ❤❤❤😂
Bonjour Olivier. Bonne continuation
What’s to be said… you do some beautiful work and tell a story as you work! 😊 I would like to make that piece but right now just too much building going on if you know what I mean! As always Olivier thank you for sharing your amazing work! Cheers
@OlivierGomis, Many thanks for posting this video, it is amazing. The commentary of your thought process is about right, with the elements of humour. So you don't like sanding, that's fine 😆. It the ball too big or the table too small. I don't thing you need any further encouragement and I look forward to seeing the baskekball sized table. Though I'm not sure where it would fit once you've completed it. Brilliant video, thank you again for sharing.
"Putain, tu fais chier" as french first language that make me laugh. This table is really beautiful and original. A masterpiece of art. Congratulations a lot and thank you for sharing.
That's funny! Years ago when I was working making metal parts on an engine lathe I wondered if there was a machine like it to make wooden parts. Lol. Great work!
Just here to feed the algorithm and to make an observation. On the marble issue, I like your idea of drilling the hole at an angle but also make the exit just slightly elevated from the groove.
