It was an emotional journey but I decided to Tex-Lax my hair.
I used a texturizer to release my curls a bit just to make my hair more manageable and for me to treat it better. I know a lot of people have mixed opinions but this is my decision !
I have read a lot about taking care of non natural hair and I also know about the whole correlation to uterine cancer but I only plan to use it once or twice a year to ease my hair up !
Let me know if you liked the final look. My curls are still intact just a bit loose now. It only looks staright becaue it was blowdried 💕
If you’d like to see the one month update let me know in the comments and I will have that done for you guys.

They did really good with your hair! All the texturizing hair stories I have heard scared me off texturizers and relaxers. I’ll never be brave enough

I think 🤔 I'm just going to heat train my natural hair once I get the rest of my locs out. Because I still want the fullness but it to be straight also.

It's what i do too. natural for the volume but i keep them straight! Just a brushing with a *volumazing brush give good results & ponytail to go ✨

Heat training helped me achieve the texture I desired I support trying this before going all the way with relaxer

Omg 6 years natural? It wasn't thriving in the natural afro state it could be longer than that. I hope relaxer works you 😘 At the end I could see the growth wow 😱 Gosh why did she not put the relaxer at the end first! It's still very curly!

It really wasn’t thriving and I was struggling. I am able to better care for my hair now and I moisturize almost every day. The tips were quite weak so the chemical processing staying there for too long would weaken it so we added it last 🥰❤️❤️

#Kships, the ends are the weakest part of hair. You start at the roots and work your way down. NEVER apply relaxer over previously relaxed hair. Only apply relaxer to the new growth the next time you relax. Also, you ends Should have some level of curl remaining. If your ends are none straight, your hair is probably overprocessed. That curl gives your hair strength so you do not get breakage 🌞

We do hair different in the United States. We have had lots of practice after the colonizers. I believe their countries may not have had the same access as the US and had to make due. I'm not trying to sound like the u.s. is better. I saying some parts of Africa is restricted from what used to be flourishing . Such as hair and styling. Colonizers have destroyed too much of the Africans ways.

Beautiful either way I have natural hair and I don't make such a big fuss or worry about looking stylish, gelled, glued up, or keep covered and it grows grows and grows. I also don't do all those things others do and I do not use all of those products.. water, a little, and Vaseline. Leave in conditioners is a no no for me. They actually make my hair thin out... Glad you found a solution that works. I still had the same routine with my relaxers too and in reality it took me the same amount of time to wash, condition, then style 🤣🥰

The moment I saw them slicking up your edges and leaving the back of your hair unstyled as of to put it in a plain ponytail; I knew this was somewhere in Africa. Like what about a roller set or summin’? It sounds terrible, but my gosh man, I think the women deserve better.

GOOD LUCK. YOUR HAIR WILL NEVER BE THE SAME UNTIL YOU CUT IT OFF. IF I COULD ONLY BE THE PERSON TO HELP PEOPLE ACCEPT THERE HAIR. YOU SHOULD HAVE HAD MORE SUPPORT TO HELP YOU ACCEPT YOUR ANCESTORS AND THEIR JOURNEYS. EACH STRAND IS A RELATIVES PAST. NEVER CURSE YOURSELF OR YOUR HAIR. NOW YOUR HAIR LOOKS STIFF NO LIFE . IF YOU WANTED STRAIGHT HAIR JUST SAY THAT. BECAUSE THATS WHAT SHE DID . RELAXED YOUR HAIR. IM IN THE U.S. AND I NOTICED ONLINE I DONT SEE TOO MANY HAIR STYLISTS IN AFRICAN COUNTRIES THAT KNOW HOW TO DO SILK PRESSES PROPERLY. WHY IS THIS??🤔 THEN YOU WOULDN'T HAVE TO USE CHEMICALS THAT CAUSE CANCER & BURNING YOUR SCALP AND ESSENTIALLY MAKE YOUR HAIR BREAK OFF & FALL OUT.
