The SGDK makes development not too far off from using Unity. Of course, being much more limited hardware, much of the effort goes into learning how to get the best out of it
I like that some CPS-1 and NEO GEO games are seeing revisited ports to the Genesis/Megadrive, those systems share the Motorola 68000 and Zilog Z80 Main CPU/Co CPU base architecture. The Genesis is several ticks slower than those arcade machines, but clever programmers are making miracles out there.
The big issue is sprite handling. Those arcade machines could put more sprites per scanline than a Mega Drive could handle on the entire screen. On top of that, each sprite could have an entire 15(note: some people will quote 16 colours, but 1 colour is always transparent) colour palette to itself on those arcade boards, whereas on a Mega Drive only has 4 15 colour palettes for the entire screen.
Agreed. Would be nice to see these developers make some new 32X games also, especially considering that console only had very few games made for it before it was discontinued. Would be nice to see its full potential tapped into. I imagine with the extra processing power of the 32X, they could make some truly arcade perfect ports as well as great original games.
I remember Darkstalkers was announced for 32x before being canceled. It would be cool to see how that portion would have worked out. I think it would be perfect on 32x.
It’s going to be interesting seeing beat em ups on the genesis that don’t take place in the late 80’s early 90’s. No head bands or leather jackets in THESE new titles.

This is great and all, but I wish someone would expand on WWF Raw and make it with like 200 characters. The gameplay on that game was extraordinary, but that is just my take on it.
Game I REALLY want a badass dev to take and port or improve: - Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo: I want to see full turbo with improved maxed out graphics but more importantly, incredible music that the MD can deliver. - Mortal Kombat 1 & 2: I want someone to do this from the ground up. The guy that created the original MK music uploaded his music version of MK 1 on the megadrive and it was insane! Shockingly close ot the arcade though a MD rendition. I want someone to deliver further. - TMNT The Arcade game: really want to see that. - Aliens vs Predator the arcade game: I would go nuts for a Capcom port of this game. - Golden Axe The Revenge of Death Adder: I want to see a Megadrive and Sega SAturn version of this title. Sega Saturn version should be arcade perfeect. - Outrunners - Love to see this one re-attempted.
That's pretty cool. You know, alot of property was bought up by SEGA back in the day, storyboards and scripts of games never released. Wonder if we can develop some of those?

@@Chevyboiz well, they made a few. but not so good.. and never made it/ made one for the genesis or nintendo. There is one on the C64 i played in my childhood and the last was released on the ps2 but was also not good enough.... so time for a good one! I like to see a massive online He-man game set in the Eternia universe... Battlefield style.... would but freakin awesome!!!

@Dean Satan Wow. I never knew that amount of ruckus existed behind the scenes of this console for developers. All I knew growing up and now as an adult is that the games were admirable for their time. I mean, it did surpass Genesis in almost every department being that it was a newer console (Genesis released 2 years earlier) but nonetheless, Genesis does what Nintendon't ha ha. Don't get me wrong, I'am a Genesis fan through and through, but I always awwed at the super cool things SNES could do (scaling, more colors, better sound, etc) Its cool to see that the Sega Genesis has out performed it's predecessor even till this day. Long live the king. Not gonna lie, if there was newer games for Snes, it would be cool to see them, oh well, thanks for the explanation.
Also, a french developper managed to create a took for Megadrive developpment that seems to be so well crafted that developping on Sega is not a challenge anymore I think this tool is called SGDK but I might be wrong

Most of these look like junk, not going to sugarcoat it, but a Sega Genesis Dinosaurs & Cadillacs that looks and plays decently would have my money fairly quick.
