You made this video about the time I started in the sport. I remember still crashing my Apprentice, Timber, Timber Umx and Hawksky at that point and thinking, “I’ll never be good enough to EVER fly the P-38 or fly like Steve. It was a long, slow process, but I got the p-38 a couple years ago. It’s just a great plane to fly, no weird tendencies and easy to land. Thanks for the video Steve!

Loved the video!! It appears that the twin tailed twin engined fighter gave something to fighters lacking in single fuselage and engined types; the advantage of stability in form and by the engine to engine dynamics offsetting torque. In the wind it was a princess, and your landing really was super smooth. Good job Denise and Steve!!! And we now know it is "Gorgeous".

I am very tempted to add this plane to my fleet. It would make a great FPV platform because it is large enough. The quiet twin puller propellers on each side don't get in the way of the FPV camera. With a Pan/Tilt head tracking, the propellers make nice "realistic" addition to the FPV view when looking left and right during a turn. Plus the WWII Lightning is unlike any other plane!
+hav eric I'm always wondering who WOULDN'T love this plane? Here's the big thing I always think of- nobody ever told me how gorgeous this plane was. I simply saw it and I was hooked- and I'll bet you'd say something similar. BIG time universal appeal- if you like planes and you see this, you're probably going to like it. And if you LOVE planes, you're probably going to love this one. I'd advise getting one, with reinforcement, of course. It's a BLAST to fly this, especially if you've flown some muscular RC fighters

Do you have a video detailing installation of the carbon fiber rods for those who may be interested in buying, but feel nervous about the idea that they would be doing damage to their planes if they made mistakes? Love the work you guys put into your vids!
LtDavidB312 We have LOADS of vids- just check the “How To” page at killerplanes.com. We highly recommend starting with a simpler plane, like a Dynam (great planes for reinforcing,, as well as great flying and inexpensive) But first,, practice drilling on some foam insulation board!

+MrCocg1 It IS fast! Loads of power- you probably heard me comparing it to 2 FMS 1400mm fighters joined at the hip. Our test plane weighs ALMOST twice as much as one of those!

We're including a number of How-To video extras with them on how to balance the plane with ARMOR, upgrade the venting, do invasion stripes, and generally make it look like a miniaturized real P-38 to boot- this plane is definitely worth the time on all 3, if you ask me!
