Nice to see that these systems are not plug and play , there's a learning curve . Yes cranking up the main is a pain but we love our simple fully battened main . We installed a below decks captive winch to take care of the lifting . Great video , looking forward to more.
None of you seems to cover the real issue. I have a sudden Gail and need to reef now. My boom will never be in the perfect condition or straight. Now what?

@@Morganscloud Hi John, I am a member, and I have read most of the comments on your site. I see how Paradigm may have pulled this off. I also read how Rob Gill claims to have had success reffing downwind. Rob gives credit to John, I assume Kretschmer, for sharing a downwind technique. I haven't seen Kretschmer's remarks. I'm interested in how downwind reefing might work on the Outbound 46, given that so many of these hulls have the Liesure Furl system.

Lots of wind noise, hydraulic winch alarms loud beeping, boat operator not wearing a mike, hard to understand when not facing camera. I am sure the hydraulics cost more than my boat which only has a manual in mast furling. I would say video is of limited value.
