You know this guy is the real deal. Grease on his arm, and busted knuckles. You don’t get that from singing songs. I break down every time I hear his voice. This guy is my hero. Thank you Sir🫡🇺🇸
Oliver Anthony, you certainly are blessed, and in turn, you bless us. When it comes to recording the way that you do, it doesn't get much better than this. Enjoy the recognition and accolades coming your way. Please don't rest on your laurels, you are a part of exactly what we need.
I’m a retired veteran and I’ve been every where. I’ve heard all kinds of music in my 64 years on this earth. But his music and singing has been the greatest thing I’ve ever heard. I can’t get enough of it. I still work 60+ hours a week just to get enough to survive on. But you’re songs make my day’s better. Thank for your music may god be with you.
This shouldn't be but it the realities of too many and so heartbreaking. "Thank you for your service" can't really express the respect I have for you and for your perseverance. It is so beautiful how music can feed the soul.
My husband is a Veteran and we are a Gold Star family. Your version of this song made me cry, just thinking about what my husband and boys went through. You have a gift. God bless your journey 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
I’m sitting here listening to this wonderful man sing his beautiful songs, I have floors that need vacuuming, furniture that needs dusting, 😊I don’t care, I love his music, his attitude and the impact he’s having in our country. God has blessed us with this revelation.🙏
Everyone of his songs you can feel them, very few artists have that affect….this guy has it, hopefully he doesn’t get taken Advantage of, protect this man!!
Oliver, I just wanted you to know that you are an angel sent from the heavens above. Your song "gotta get sober" made me want to get sober. I was drinking an 18 pack with liquor, smoking 2 packs every day. I felt like my family would cope better if it was just alcohol poisoning rather than suicide. You made me realize life is worth living bro. I know how humble you are after watching you any chance I get for the past week but, I really appreciate your music inspiring me to be better. I also want you to know that I love all your songs and literally listen to them everyday since I first heard of you several days ago.
I bet it's fantastic to look back on this video after being able to play with the man who wrote it this week. Congrats to you sir! From one musician to another, I wish you nothing but the best future!
Love this song - my mom's youngest of 9, from holler in Kentucky, gramps coal miner gone before I met him from cancer, grandma dementia by time I was 4 and crazy, my mom's been troubled her whole life from the dirt poor conditions in those coal mining hills from her youth - remember visiting as a kid to see my crazy uncle who lived in their childhood home till he died, roof falling in, black bare feet and black and white photos of uncle Jr. who served in WW2 still on the wall. That was 35 years ago and that house on the hill has been swallowed up by the trees long ago now. This song rings true sir.
First time I've ever seen anyone play right or left handed guitar without missing a beat. Plus with that voice! Pure talent absolutely. Oliver, you are the voice of NORTH AMERICA BROTHER! LOVE IT. GODSPEED BROTHER!
I never heard this song before till I found this cover, looked up the original by Jamey Johnson... LOVE the song by both, great to see he got to sing it with Jamey at the Morris Farm. Reading some of these comments are choking me up. I find myself a bit obsessed with Oliver here, crazy as I never cared for Country -ever...but here I am, loving this VOICE , the humbleness, the REAL factor... Young man, please stay True to where you came from, and what the Lord is doing , your inspiring a generation.
I am listening to everything I can from him..Soul healing...Much needed...I'm Old School...He gives me pride in my ways and beliefs in a world that doesn't have any common sense anymore.😢
The ambiant sound of the woods in your music puts me in a relaxed state. My mind says : Stop what you are doing and listen to this. Always worth it. The dogs are a part of it as well. Keep it up Cris.
I haven’t been captured by music in a long time. Feels like Johnny Cash Your amazing. Heart and soul in your voice and music. Don’t let a contract make you a top 40 sell out They ruin all music
I heard yesterday that John Rich is offering to record him. They say he is one of the straightest talents in Nashville. Praying for Oliver. He found Jesus last month and was struck by lightning this month. I hope he puts his money into his farm and retires happy.
Oliver Anthony is my favorite favorite favorite country singer he outdoes ever country singer that's going on now but the brothers got it goin on God bless you and hold your head up 🙏💗❤️💞
Thank you for this, as I wipe away my tears. 99% of the population does not remember or hold onto the memories and the heritage that their family has given them. I have thousands of black and white photos from families where they didn’t care to even keep the photos. I collected stories from my father so I could keep those in my heart just like you collected stories that you could keep in your heart. My grandfather died before I was born so I got it many stories as I could for my dad now that he’s past I’m the only one who has the stories nobody else in my family cared about them. I understand that you’re that type that cares about your family history and the stories! This song is a such A GIFT
I love your style of Music. I was born in WV and my dad worked in the mines. You sing from your heart and you speak the truth that so many are living right now. Don't stop no matter what the media or anybody else says this country needs to hear this message loud and clear. Thank you for your bravery and using your God given talent to speak up for America.💗💗💗
I’m just an old 78 yr old granny. Looking to adopt. You look like son and grandson. I’ve spent most of my life associated with the military as a child, and as a spouse of retired Army I really never really listened to Bluegrass, but you have so much to say it touches my the truth, and I hate leaving this earth in the mess it is for my grandchildren. You are a breath of fresh air. Your family must be very proud of you, peace and love of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Doesn't he though??? That's just what I was saying...... he's adorable and anyone should be proud to have such a fine member of their family, We , as Americans seem to be! :)
I've listened to all genres of music in my life - all sorts...have been binging on radiowv and your music tonight - feels like I've found home (even though I'm far away in the austrian alps). This is real soul music made by good good people. Thank you for helping restore my faith in humanity - I've been going under these last few years.
I just keep watching one after another after another👊🏻 I’ll say it again you are so awesome please don’t change the way you play and sing 🎤 I connect with your music 🎶 so much👊🏻
This guy is just what music needed. I have listened to everything he sang and it has changed my life just listening to what he has been through. He is the best singer songwriter on this planet. Oliver Anthony please never change.
Oh mannn this song is one of my all time favorites! reminds of my grandparents... so moving. The part with ole Johhy McGee his tail gunner who has his back is 1000% truth.. Thank you
Got the guys out here today enjoying your music. We're shooting rifles and my 300 win mag at tannerite. They like your music and had never heard you before. They're hooked!
I lived not far from him. You can't more real than those hard working folk. Loved living there, made true friends for life. First time I heard his music I was covered in goose bumps from head to toe.
Reminds me of my Grandpa who song of country folk, soul, incredible old songs. I heard them on the radio and telling him I heard his songs on the radio and they were butchering HIS SONG😂 he got a kick out of telling me he wrote them lol of course I believed it. But fondest memories from my life was him singing around the camp fire. He started recording towards the end and he left a couple CDS for me unfortunately I gave them for his memorial and never got them back. Miss it so Thank you for giving me a piece of that. Love it
This song makes me tear everytime. Your voice does it justice. Nice. Forgot to add how well behaved and beautiful your pups are. My black lab and my little cattle dog would be tearing around to be the center of attention. They behave, but sometimes...Lol.
My son is a Vet. He has shared some of his stories. It got me thinking about how many of us know our parent's stories, our grandparents' stories? How many can say they know much about their family story? I wonder. How may of us know our children's stories. Are families closer today or farther away emotionall. As families... do we connect and share our real deep and organic stories... or just the ones that can be shared in 60 seconds or less? I wonder. It seems there is no time and more and more times we share less and less as families... because of the time it takes to make money to support our family. It seems to me what they fought for worked for is being taken away...it seems our time is being taken away to make and know those stories. Good stuff.
Amen! His music is the best thing since sliced cheese! 2$ bills and Cash , and Jamey Johnson, Elvis, Beatles and Jackson among others, and most of all him! Has made a doggon difference in my life!
Incredible cover of a beautiful song! Keep up the great work! This Tarheel also appreciates the muscadine references! Damn! The memories of picking those things brings a tear to my eye.
I grew up thinking Waylon and Jones and Jonny paycheck were the end of country. Then there was church and Stapleton. Now sir your the hope that real country will survive and that the heart felt music and honest country folk will remain. I could only hope more like you will rise to spread hope to us because I've never heard anyone who could cut to the heart like you do. Someday I'd like to hear you live. Thank you and let God keep you safe in doing exactly what you are doing undividing those who they are trying so hard to divide
I grew up on classic rock and never had a taste for country music or the blues. Never knew what I was missing. If I could get digital copies of your music, that's all I'd listen to when I ride my Harley. I don't know what that music is touching inside me, but it's deep.
Never in a million years did you think you’d be singing this with the man himself almost a year later… keep doing great things man your not a one hit wonder your the man this country needed‼️
Chris is true grit he,s singing from his heart may the Good Lord bless him and his family .God is driving the train he's on so Chris if you ever see this message my family's praying for your family..may the good lord our Savior keep you safe your singing what we all have been yelling out for a long time you have been blessed with discernment keep reading God's word out loud you are God's servant bless you son QUEBECCA FROM ALABAMA
Such a jewel Anthony! Goin on 94y old next birthday. Keep writing TRUTHS, HARDSHIPS AND ABOUT AMERICA FALLING. Folks are with you. Your REALNESS SHINES. Shalom
You can't be do good old country people and you can tell he's just a good old country boy you can't be do good old country people they know how to live off the land and know how to hunt grow their own food and he ain't scared to get dirty because God made water-soaked get it off with little dirt on you don't hurt God bless him from the sweet hills Tennessee
To see Oliver Anthony and my favorite singer Jamey Johnson on stage together was incredible. Those two, and a few others are what real country is, not this twangy hip-hop crap that Nashville is trying to shove down our throats! Oliver Anthony has ignited a ground swell of true Americans who love God & Country. Please quit selling yourself short Mr. Anthony, you and your music are resonating in millions of people and that isn't an accident. I truly believe you are God's instrument!
Jamie Johnsons In Color and Your Richmen North of Richmond are the only 2 songs to ever make me cry uncontrollably....keep being you bro.. Never conform
Love how I can feel the words of your music! You have a God given talent. I can't remember who said it. A country star, in his later years, when asked what he wanted his music to be in the future. "Don't take the scratches out of my records". I hear that! As an older woman that remembers music from the 70's. I hear that!
He could be anybody's son, brother, even Dad. So humble, even loving and caring for his dogs so well, and look at those hard-working hands. We once had a President who used to chop wood, down trees.......did the hard work.......and Abe was one of the best. Not that Oliver should be President, but a well-qualified, hard working, devoted man of God, should be!!! That's what impresses me.
