Seriously, there’s no comparison. Shinkenger all the way. I was surprised that they kept the Shiba last name in PR. For me, I think it made sense to pair Dayu and Deker because it made her not wanting to kill him more believable but that’s just me. Heck the only ‘backstory’ they did was Jayden, Kevin and Emily. At least with Chiaki, we know that the reason why he had the least amount of training was because his Dad said he wanted Chiaki to choose it freely and Mako’s mom has health issues as a result of being a pink Ranger. All we got from Mia’s background was that her parents were pissed at her brother, which had nothing to do with her samurai background and I don’t know what the deal is with Mike

one million times Genta for me. As a Latino, Antonio's butchering of even the SIMPLEST Spanish words is a deal-breaker. Genta is sooooooo Extra but I was actually laughing at Genta chewing the scenery and yes, with THOSE Eyebrows , Mike may play for our time, but no thanks LAUREN DESERVED BETTER!!!

I prefer Shinkenger over Power Rangers Samurai because it emphasizes more on Japanese culture.

This is coming for someone who grew up with Samurai (I don't really watch Power Rangers or Sentai). Samurai is enjoyable in the fact that I love to see how bad they messed it up.

Lemme just say this. When I heard Saban was coming back, I was hoping he went back to the days of wild force and Time force. I was worried because at that point I already prefer sentai but I wanted to give it a chance but dear mother of God was this a pile of fuckery. OST soundtrack goes to Shinkenger. Samurai was boring unoriginal. Red - I never thought that it was possible to see another Red Ranger worst than Mac but holy shit this, Power Ranger show proved me wrong. Jaden is an awful character. He's bland, he's wooden and boring. The script of this character definitely contributes to the flaw of him. However, the performance that this actor gives is just so one dimensional and there is just a lack of charisma or any kind of human emotion that I fall asleep seeing him. Takeru is stoic but his actor could act. He is an upright character that despite being an asshole at the start it was because he was dedicated to his mission. This character has developed so well through the entire series and had to live with the fact that he was a substitute justifies why he wanted to isolate himself from everyone. Blue - Ryunouske is a fun very by the book kind of characters. Despite being like a parent he is relatable with his kazumi's dream. Samurai blue is just fucking boring. He lacks enthusiasm. It feels like I am watching a watered down version of Tommy's performance. Pink - Mako was so awesome and has a lot of maturity to her. Samurai pink wasn't bad but they didn't giver her enough. Green - Chiaki was immature but that created the motivation for him in the series. Mike on the other hand was exactly what you guys just said. He was very "bruh" heavy. It felt like a forced attempt to make him relatable to young teenagers with that kind of Personality in the 21st century and it could have work but is just that's all you know him by. Yellow - Kotoha was like a female Time green/Shion. Her heart was in the right place and you felt sorry for her whenever she sees herself as a nuisance towards other people despite her being legitimately good at things. She is a character that puts people before herself and it warms my heart seeing that. The us version is just...well the same attempt but not fully fleshed out with her own insecurities as the Japanese version. You can only go by her as the cute airhead Gold - Genta is much better. Antonio actor tries honestly but his character is sort kind forgettable. Red female - Lauren as a character is a lot more interactive with the main characters. However, in the context of this it doesn't really quite make any sense why the characters dislike her. In the Japanese version, Kouru has that conflict because she is literally royalty and she didn't interacted that much because of that. In samurai it didn't make sense for Lauren not being the replacement because she could of came in since the start. The Japanese had a substitute in an attempt to secure Kouru identity until she was old enough to fulfill the role. Why didn't Lauren just take the role at the beginning? it's stupid when you think about it. The premise of samurai does not make any sense of the kind.. Even though the show may have Japanese background, why didn't the writer's see the wisdom or the common sense to have Asians to play these roles? This would have made sense why the hell are Japanese background and the Red Ranger could have been the pure head that is an immigrant from Japan but the writer's don't bother to try to ensure the story of the original is compatible to their own. It just doesn't make any sense. The issue that is that the show filled with a bunch of different of the races yet we supposed to believe they all have a strong Asian background and there's only one Asian character? That's just the tip of the iceberg. The acting is bland, the characters are too one dimensional. The voice acting is pure garbage; the dialogue is cheesy and voice acting is crap. Definitely one of the worst Seasons in the franchise.

Yes that is a real thing Jacob. I don’t personally have tomatoes in my sandwiches because they’re much too sweet for me to handle and they’re as soft as mushrooms but people do eat these things. During my whole entire life, I’ve only ever eaten an egg sandwich when told that I needed to eat anything containing bread. It’s not strange or uncommon.

In my opinion Antonio truly the best thing that happened to Power Rangers Samurai. He was an amazing character/Ranger. Emily was also great and the actress played her really well. They also explained her situation about her sister supposedly being the original Yellow Ranger multiple times throughout the season and her thinking that she's wasn't good enough to live up to her......Yeah they do have eggs sandwich with lettuce and tomatoes in certain restaurants/deli.

And the best part is the Sengoku Driver on the table =P

Call me crazy but...I think there's ONE THING that Samurai did better than Shinkenger, and that's Deker. I mean, think about it: they not only tied his backstory with Dayu's, which explains why they seem to always be so close throughout the show, but they give him a pretty tragic backstory with him being revived as a Nighlok by Serrator as a price for Dayu calling for help. I would say that's alot more interesting of a character than a simple mad swordsman who didn't want to die before finding a good fight. Also, I wouldn't AT ALL say Lauren was better than Kaoru. While yes, I'll admit they didn't let Kaoru integrate into the team as much as Lauren....THAT WAS THE POINT. She was SUPPOSED to be a polar opposition to what Takeru was to the team. She was SUPPOSED to disrupt their status quo in the team & make them miss Takeru as their lord. Lauren on the other hand....Well, lemme first say, I'll give her this, they had OPPORTUNITY to make this better than Shinkenger. Making her actually RELATED to Jayden was an interesting choice, and gives them a chance to do something different with the story here. But what do they do??? They try to depict the SAME SHINKENGER STORYLINE WITH HER....WHICH DOESN'T WORK. Lauren, unlike Kaoru, is a sweetheart, and gives the Rangers NO JUSTIFIABLE REASON to really go against her & spark the want for Jayden back. And in fact, when they start wanting him back, she feels bad & feels left out since she's such a new member. Plus, Kaoru goes through character development with her entrusting the mission to Takeru.

I think the acting was cause by this script. I think one of head righters was a translator. I think that was the cause of the terrible acting. Even the really good actors would struggle with this script.

I loved watching Shinkenger but it was honestly kind of sad because Power Rangers Samurai was the first (and until a few weeks ago, only) Power Rangers series I ever saw but when I went to see some clips of it on RU-vid right around the time I started watching Shinkenger, it was kind of jarring seeing how lazy it was. I’ve been watching a fair bit of the original Power Rangers and while the Sentai footage sticks out (or, more accurately, the video quality does), at least the actors gave more energy and they did their own thing in out of suit story sections.

It would have worked better if they made their own original story with Shinkenger. Have be where a samurai man who comes from japan go all the way to america in retirement or to seal portals. And give the american kids the changers and teach marital arts. I feel like the main difference between PR and SS is the story RPM had a great original story. Jungle Fury borrowed elements from Geki ranger but PR samurai just phoned it in and tried to copy it. I'm not against copying a season of Sentai into power rangers it's just they picked the wrong one to copy since Shinkenger is super japanese.

I mean at the end of Super Samurai it shows that Mike and Emily get into a relationship and I am believing that they are saying that they shipped Chiaki and Kotoha but in a more downgraded version in Power rangers that shows its obvious. Although in Sentai about 70% of the romances are good besides Amy and Kings.

I've seen Shinkger and Samurai and I'll say it Shinkger is better. I blame Nickelodeon because Samurai was getting stupid. I tried to give Samurai the benefit of the doubt but I just couldn't.

I personally liked samurai not because it’s good but because it entertained me and that’s why I still enjoy it once again I am not saying it’s good I am just saying it entertained me which is more than I say for megadump and also I think shinkenger is overrated it’s still a good show but I think there are way better

I knew they'd give points to Lauren...she had more character in the few episodes she was in, than the entire rest of the cast had the entire season combined.

See personally I think Samurai is a very underrated season(s). Is it the best season ever? No but it's by far not the worst. I'd rather watch both seasons of Samurai over Ninja Steel, Megaforce, Super MegaForce, Dino SuperCharge, or Overdrive.
