I have declared July Independence month, because we should not be limited to celebrating our independence for only one day.

In order to be unanimous someone left the room and abstained so it could be unanimous. Can't remember who but he did not want to see the colonies suffer the carnage which is a noble thought. The saddest part of this is left unspoken: Most kids of the last 2 generations can’t read cursive script nor write in it anymore. These Americans cannot even read the original founding documents! It’s no wonder they don’t have an appreciation for the nation as founded and view these documents as nothing more than antiquated pieces of parchment with inked characters upon it. As the 1st generation child of two legal - and subsequently naturalised Citizens - out of India, who grew up in Pres. Reagan’s era, I had a strong sense of nationalism and populism instilled in me. Not just from the (great!) G.I. Joe cartoon PSA’s at the end of every episode, but from folks like my parents and others that truly believe that America was the shining beacon of freedom in the world. Shame that the younger generations (and some older ones out of the 50’s and 60’s) view America as just another regime. Just another system of rule to be corrupted to make themselves and their ilk more powerful and rich. The result of turning away from God.

Most important words in the beginning of that document is the mention of God. On both my Mother and Father's sides of the Family, my ancestors came to this land in the very early 1600's. I read a lot about them in church records and public records and I can tell you for sure that in those early days you had to be an active member of a local church or you would have been an out cast and never be granted any land.
