Kudos to him for being so open about events. He was certainly a gifted player. Whatever his involvement in the scandal, for a well-adjusted person to plummet to that level shows what sustained pressure and media scrutiny can do to a person. Thank heavens he recognised his predicament and sought assistance.

What a heartbreaking story, the shame and loss of identity driving James to swallow a bottle of sleeping pills and try to end his own life. I'm so glad that he is still alive, if you ever read this, you have a lot of support and people who love you Hirdy, probably more than you know.

I had zero respect for JH previously before this interview, his arrogance was a big part of what led to the downfall of his club, his players and his health, BUT he deserves a new start, he owns his shit here, and he is not the same person following this self inflicted trauma, he's a stronger better person now. His message now is inspiring to all who have made mistakes and own them.
