"to love your family, because they won't be there" That was quite touching. Michael seemed to get a bit choked up, and couldn't get the words out.

Just watched THE QUEEN yesterday with Michael Sheen as Tony Blair. His English accent was great so I had no idea he was actually Welsh. There is a clip on here, the National Theater channel, of him reading poetry.(spectacularly)..and with this bearded look and his Welsh accent he SOUNDS like a poet every time he opens his mouth. It is AWESOME to see Sían Phillips is still at it. A dignified, articulate lady who will always be remembered as one of the best villainesses EVER as Livia in I, Claudius! It seems that the Brits are having a bit of a time getting back to normal. With all of the 2 meter protocols. I hope to God you folks over there aren't having the same problem that we Yanks are having getting our younger folks to get vaccinated.

After catching a few clips from this production of Under Milk Wood on social media, I was compelled to see it. I'm in the midst of the three-day rental and viewed it for the first time last night. One question burned in my mind: How did the cast, particularly Mr. Sheen, accomplish the olympic feat of memorizing a piece of this complexity? So glad to find this interview with insight regarding this very question, as well as the rehearsal process, the contextualization of the poem within the care home setting, and the careful reframing of Thomas' mid-century attitudes about women. Thank you for taking the time to do this interview, and thank you to National Theatre for making these plays available to those of us who would not otherwise be able to enjoy them in person.

Beautifully described by the actors of the complexities and simplicities of rich characters in Llareggub. "We are not wholly bad or good Who live our lives under Milk Wood, And Thou, I know, wilt be the first To see our best side, not our worst."

How do you watch this play online? Kate mentioned it would be available. I would love to donate to watch it. I miss English theatre now I live in Canada.

It's available now. Download the national theatre at home app and you can rent the play or buy a subscription.
