I bought that Okuma TCS. If mark recommends it he doesn’t mess around. His advice is solid.

Hi Steve.. love your videos and I've been binge watching your channel. I do have a question. When punching, what dictates when to peg your weight, how far away from the bait to peg, or not peg at all??
@markcordero786
@markcordero786 2 года назад
Great video Steve! So does Mark use the ounce and a half so he can fish faster, or to get through the vegetation? Just curious, because on the last part of the video he said that the lighter would get more bites.
@indeeponthedeltawithstevec5997
@indeeponthedeltawithstevec5997 2 года назад
Most of the time the size of the weight depends on how much weight is needed to punch through the vegetation. There are times when the fish will be more aggressive to baits falling faster through the cover-it 's a total reaction bite-other times the fish will prefer slower falling baits. Bottom line is the real big sticks have several punch rods set up and the trick is to have the experience and intuition when to change rods. Remember-in a tournament situation it only takes one or two of the decisions to put you in the money. Even the the best anglers will make 100's of moves that don't work, real pro anglers have the confidence to keep changing because they know it will pay off. Good luck-follow your instincts and keep changing up.

Great video! He keeps saying the tide is not right...when is it right?
@indeeponthedeltawithstevec5997
@indeeponthedeltawithstevec5997 2 года назад
We had a dead tide that had a very low coefficient. Not much water movement. You just have to have a moving tide. You never know when they will bite but usually I like to make sure I am fishing the first 2 hours of a moving tide. For me when the tides starts the fish start hunting. If you have a slow tide they will feed for longer periods of time. If the tide starts and then really gets cranking the fish start looking to get out of heavy current and then feed again when the tide slows. Hope that helps.

Just getting back from the Delta today I tried punching also it was a tough bike but overall they were chasing the jerk baits and the crank baits and s waivers

Thanks for the report Austin. I was out yesterday and experienced the same thing. The lunar forcast was terrible for yesterday. Maybe that had something to do with it.

Thanks for the comment David, I think most of us do better when we can actually see whats going on. I will remember to continue to keep visual references in my videos. Hope to have more under water footage in the future.

Do you think you could add a link to the Baits he’s using it’s really hard for me to hear what color and what size the baits are 4 inch or 5 inch maybe it’s just my headphones

Hi Brandon-Mark likes the Missile Baits D bomb-4in. in sprayed grass color. Tackle Warehouse has them and most bass tackle shop cary the D bombs.

@@indeeponthedeltawithstevec5997 thank you so much I just found your channel I’ve watched almost every video you have in three days I just started fishing two months ago our orchard almost backs up to the river so I bought a little Jon boat put a little 9.9 hp motor built a little casting deck and I’m out there 3 to 5 days a week and I am addicted to fishing I followed your tips I’ve got some really nice stripers two days ago I got about 12 stripers five of them were over 28 inches fishing for bass. Getting anywhere from 12 to 25 bass a day you’re so right about these tides and bite windows I’m really learning a lot from your videos can’t wait to meet you one day thank you so much for the information!!! I’ve been catching all the stripers on the bomber jointed wake bait in the minnow color and majority of the bass on that bubble walker bone color and learned how to Neko rig from your videos most of the rest on that. I owe all my success to your unselfish reports and information it would take me years and years of fishing to pick up what I’ve learned in 3 to 4 days watching your videos and I can’t express how thankful I am I have met 3 to 4 different guys on the river who wouldn’t even tell me where to go let alone what I should be using when I asked them for help I was really frustrated catching 2 to 3 fish a day spending 7-8 hours on the river and I looked up what do use one day and found your channel thank you so much I’ve had more success in a week than I had in two months!!
