To explain fire in space shortly: fire needs an oxidizer like oxygen, oxygen can be found in rocket fuel. Which means fire in space is possible. As for fire prior to the Acolyte, the example you gave was an explosion which was an ignition of the fuel which ended the flame shortly after it started because the fuel was used up fast. In the Acolyte the fire is active for what felt like 5 minutes which would have caused alarms to start going off because fuel burns fast and the ship would have sent off emergency warnings because of how fast they were losing fuel. Also the "mechnics" were far away from the engine so a fuel line near them is hard to believe (not impossible).

YES! EXPLOSIONS in space are FINE because by their very nature, an explosion doesn't need oxygen! A firecracker WILL explode in space. A fire will NOT sustain without oxygen.

I am a liberal who lives in Florida. Florida is ground-zero for attacking Disney. I absolutely hate Ron DeSantis (the govonor) for his constant attacks on Disney for being “woke.” I DESPERATELY wanted The Acolyte to be a good show so I could tell other people who also hate DeSantis to subscribe to Disney+ to help Disney fight DeSantis because “there is a great new Star Wars series.” But the writing was so horrendous I COULDN’T TELL ANYBODY THAT!!! I don’t give a rats ass about “woke” or not. I just wanted good writing, and The Acolyte failed miserably.

Qimir knows he's there. I honestly didn't think it was that bad of a show. I'd rate it higher than Ashoka and Fett. It's problem was Headland and the writers was so focused on Stenberg's characters, that the show really wasn't asking the questions and answering the questions that it NEEDED to answer like Qimir's Darth title. So 7 and 8 literally crash landed and burned. Don't hold your breath for Season 2. Filoni calls the shots on that, and Headland argued with him A LOT about using Yoda, which Filoni repeatedly denied. So I'd imagine he thinks she is a headache.

Your video has some serious issues, so I'd like to take a few moments to offer a helpful critique (hopefully it's not offensive, I'd like it to be as constructive as possible). 1. If you are going to critique other creators, always steelman their arguments first (specifically relating to Theory and Quartering). 2. Arguments against inconsistencies should be viewed in total context and not just as being reactionary (such as Mae being able to somehow throw a knife into the Jedi Master Indara's chest). 3. Star Wars is filled with many ridiculous things, like Leia flying through space, explosions in space (peppered through all of the movies and shows), so framing the fire in space as part of those rather than as an example of hate is probably a better tactic. If you want to defend the show (without gaslighting), you're better off exploring three avenues: 1. the hate expressed towards the new ideas actually having their roots in Legends and the comics (which are generally beloved by the fanbase), 2. the attempt to "fix" the problems of the prequels by introducing fractures into the "perfect" Jedi Order of the Republic (showing that Ki-Adi-Mundi, for example, was an absolute liar), and 3. while many characters failed to coalesce as believable (Mei/Osha, for example), other characters really stood out (Qimir and Sol--even though the writers really did Sol dirty at the end). The Acolyte feels more like Star Wars' version of Trek's Picard (trying to show how the Federation wasn't as "pure" as it was portrayed in TOS, TNG, and VOY), which attempted (poorly) to show that the Republic wasn't really "1000 years of peace," but actually had some serious problems that did lead to the civil war expressed in the prequels and in the eventual collapse of the government which led to the formation of the Empire. Your defense should have taken the criticism more seriously (labeling Star Wars Theory as a "hater" is crazy gaslighting), while also praising the show's highlights and positive interpretive interpolations which might have the correct formula to evolve the franchise into something beyond the Skywalker clan. A lot of the criticisms with the show could have been fixed with simple adjustments to the script. For example, show another scene with Ki-Adi-Mundi where he is seen conspiring with Vernestra, having a little dialogue about how the wires that fed through the witch fortress were extremely old and dangerous, or showing Indara experience a vision or flashback of guilt, causing her to hesitate with catching the knife--and all of these problems would have been solved with workshopping and reshoots. So clearly something was going on at Disney that there wasn't proper QA mechanisms, and Headland was given way too much personal authority to release before going through traditional QA sessions normally associated with big budget projects like this.

I don't like that you brand Star Wars Theory a hater. It's one of the man's passions and he is so well read on it. And that's not including legends. Cannon books and behind the scenes information and has a really informed grasp on the world intended by George Lucas. Don't trivialise his irritation at the show by just calling him a hater. He also agreed the action was good. But since this is a prequel set before the start of the series, it impact the story told so far. And when the people making this show don't care about that, it takes away from the experience we've had with this franchise. This franchise matters to people. Enough to pay billions to own it. You can't leverage that love for value and then be surprised people are upset about it when you not only make sub par conent out of it but also use that content to take away from the world you already came to love.
@GalaxyGamer27

I used to watch Star Wars Theory's videos on a regular basis because I loved his content. However, I feel like lately he's been rather "overly protective" of Star Wars, let's say. We had a chance for Jedi to discuss the Force with other non Jedi force users. Except all the Jedi did, test the girls and try to leave the planet. At no point did they try to learn about the witches or learn about how they view and use the force. They labelled them a force cult and didn't ever try to learn or discuss anything beyond teaching the younglings. Osha wanting to be a Jedi makes no sense. She was raised in isolation by the cult and if she ever heard anything about Jedi it would be negative. Yet she wants to join a group of people trying to taker her away from her family, who she knows nothing about. Would have made so much more sense, that she would be angry at the Jedi, then over the months of training with Sol realize they are actually the good guys. See what happened to Qui-Gon, that move in the shit show just ruins any and all worries we have for the characters as one of them can just be fine after taking a blow that should have killed them. Explosions can happen in space, but fires for the most part can’t. The magic twins thing was extremely incompetent, super lazy writing that just wants to make the new twins happen before anakin like saying “my toy was made first so it’s better than yours.” If you can’t see that the last 8 projects done by lucasfilm for Star Wars have been extremely politically motivated, then you’re blind. Cool ideas and concepts that were stolen from the old eu doesn’t mean it’s done well or works at all. The fights were the best we ever seen since the PT, but they still sucked. If you think season 2 is gonna be made your huffing so much copium you can’t see your keyboard in front of you. The fact that plaguis and yoda are involved with the show at all is a huge problem for the prequels plot wise. The acolyte is the straw that broke the camels back for a lot of people, they’re fed up with the garbage they’ve been served time and time and again and now they’re done. Hmmm maybe the critics liked the show so much because they’re monetarily motivated to give it good reviews so they can continue to get their goody bags and early viewings from lucasfilm. @@GalaxyGamer27 and using colider as a source is like trying to use kotaku as a viable and legit source for unbiased gaming news lol.... its not a reliable source and the article doesnt provide any sources, figures, graphs or anything.... go review the nelson ratings... its the closest thing we have to knowing the truth because disney will NEVER release the actual numbers or the data to back up their claims that the acolyte had more views than fucking kenobi did in its first 2 episodes??? thats some bullshit, they put no effort into that lie

I pray to god that it doesnt get a season 2. 3.9 rating on imbd the cast is terrible and it shows there is no emotion to it. Like the cast thinks that Anikin blew up the death star and Fuckin R2D2 is lesbian. It deserves the hate.

Yeah, but just because one of the actors doesn't know the difference between Luke and Anakin it doesn't mean his performance in the Acolyte is bad. As I said in the video, there is a difference between judging his performance in the show vs judging what he said in the interviews. The part about R2D2/C3PO being gay is inexcusable tho

@@GalaxyGamer27 but even then i guess not the fault of the actors, but more so the director. The whole show just seemed so pale and bleek like there was no emotion put into it. As well as the constant change of OG lore. Most of the environment was just drawn out, apon episodes rerun, but just from a different perspective, to the scenery just looking plain. You would have expected more from a series with a budget of 180Mil which comparatively The budget of the last movie which had some impressive scenes visually was pretty much only double that of The Acolyte. The strong Woman persona was already written well in the early movies like princess lia, padame. Its a formula that can work but nowadays The characters have no training arcs no rise to power. These characters have it pretty much all given to them just cuz. with a budget of 180mil I Would have expected more.

And, those of us who hated the show, we didn’t have an ‘agenda.’ But it’s fairly obvious that the writers and producers did!!! They literally had Osha ask (out loud) if a scent-smelling-expert Beaver had plural pronouns!!

Tbf, this is the reality nowadays, it's not like the Acolyte is the only show doing this type of stuff with pronouns
