Since the bikes are so pricey I picked yamaha for two reasons: Set it and forget it suspension and class leading reliability..

Thanks for the great information guys! This one is a struggle for me. I know the FC450 is going to be brand new for 2023, which means the Rockstar Edition dropping in December or January should also have the 2023 upgrades (if they stick to their conventional ways). I’ve been holding out for this, as I have it on good authority the new Husqvarna is going to be a considerable upgrade…but who ever really knows for sure with first year models. I’ve been on the fence about the Yamaha for a long time. All the numbers tell me she’s a big heavy bike. But when I actually sit on the bike and pick it up and move it around the showroom floor, it doesn’t feel as heavy as I’d expect. I’m able to go back and forth between the KTM and Yamaha at one of my dealers and the Yamaha never feels as big as I’d expect when compared to the KTM either. That being said, I live to rail corners and love the lower stance of the Husqvarna…just wish it had the KYB forks. Anyway, I’m rambling. Wish I could find a demo day somewhere for the Yamaha. Thanks for the great content and unbiased breakdown of each bike!

The tuner app for the Yamaha really does make it more like multiple bikes in one but theres no replacement for low weight. Even if you throw all the power in the world at it. What did you end up going with?

@@easley421 I went with the YZ450F and it was the best decision I ever made. I would have had to spend an insane amount of money to get the Austrian bike's suspension on par with the YZ. I have ridden every 450 on the market now and the YZ is truly superior to them all...keeping in mind this is purely subjective. The bike is stable, powerful, dependable, highly tunable and rides much lighter than it weighs. I imagine the haircut it took for 2023 will make it even better.

So, last year's 4th place bike, which had almost no changes, became this year's 1st place bike?

Yeaaaaa Yamaha seems to be making major moves lately... including bribery. Or maybe these guys are just rating bikes based off of whos riding what in the pro world. I'm seriously about to spend my money on a Suzuki just to rebel against whatever's going on here

would be cool if you did a shoot out with the 350's and how they stack up against the 450's.

We did it for many years, and for most it would finish far down the ranks in competitiveness but everyone really enjoyed them! If we keep thinking of it from a race aspect, they won't do as well but they are phenomenal motorcycles. And the other thing is KTM group won't offer just one up, they will always make us test all three...then we're at a ten bike shootout...YIKES

After 4 seasons on a Husky 350, I’ve decided to try a KX450. Interested to see how it goes. .....patiently awaiting the Kawi video ha ha.

They would stick most likely beat the Suzuki lol 😂

@@Backyard.bandits Have you actually ridden the Suzuki? It's 2022 bro, everything is good. Even the bike with almost no changes over the last decade🤣. Sure, it's not competitive against these monsters the big guys are making but it's still WAY more motorcycle than most people need. I'm sure with enough de-tuning, the Yamaha can perform just like the Suzuki.🤣

What are your settings on fresh track versus end of the day bumpy track? What you mean by slowing the bike? Less rebound?

The last part the guy said he would buy the Yamaha and he picked it 1st but still has a Honda cause he said he can flick it better. Plus he brought up weight ya the Honda is only about 2lbs lighter than the Yamaha. I don’t feel a difference when riding the Honda Yamaha or Kawasaki. I seriously can’t feel a 2 or even 5lbs difference..

Purchase a lighter battery for the 22 yz450f and it’ll be about the same weight as the Honda and Kawi.

@@befree322 well all the Japanese bike don’t do the old frames. The KTM frames get tweaked a lot easier over time vs them. It’s a give and take thing.
