*The Update for the older multineedles is due in December, not November as stated in the video! In this video I show off the awesome new magnetic frames for single and multineedle Baby Lock machines!
I got my Solaris with the Upgrade 2 and not the Upgrade 1. Some things in Kit 2 don't work without Kit 1 installed. I went back to the store and we made a great deal for me to buy Kit 1, Now, I'm loving my machine sooo much. Still so very much to learn!
I'm very wary of magnets on my Solaris 2, even those made by Baby Lock. I've read comments on other channels from people that used DIME magnetic hoops and slowly over the years the computer in their machines started failing. After all, they do tell us not to put magnets on our machines.
Thank you for taking the time to demo the use of Baby Lock's magnetic hoop. I heard about them and really needed more info, besides, my Baby Lock Flare is my newest and why would I need the same size hoop I already purchased. Your demo detailed the pluses of the magnetic hoop easily, thanks for that. Now I know what all the commotion is about. Now I only see the 5x7 hoops, are there larger sizes, I'm thinking about a 10 x 14" if the size is right.
I just bought one for my Altair and it's manufactured in Vietnam and I also just Brother's Hoop and it is identical to the one I just bought. So I wonder if it is in fact made by a third party for Babay Lock and for Brother.
So glad I found your channel. I am a professional longarm quilter - always wanted to embroider. One month ago, I purchased a BL Array from an Oklahoma dealer nearer me. Two of these magnet frames came in my bundle. I had the 4x4 on, typed in a name that was 1x2. Got the error that I needed a bigger frame. The view screen showed it with plenty of room. I have asked my dealer 3x about this. They have no answer. Do you have any ideas? Also, I know I need software but no idea what to get. I am used to ProStitcher and ProStitcher Designer on my longarms. However, I was floured when I saw the prices of embroidery software and don't want to go for F TCU yet. Got any suggestions on that too? I will be following all your videos now. Thank you so much. PS: I actually visited Ellicott City before.
Hard to say why the design says it wont fit without being there to look at it. Did you update the machine? It doesn't work out of the box on an array, you need the latest update. As for software Floriani is of course my choice, but you could get stitchartist for a lot less to dip your toe in if you wanted.
Sometimes you need to go into the menu and select a different frame size. No idea why it does this, but the manual should tell you how to correct the frame size,
It does not, I think because they would have to manufacture a totally separate frame carrier for it because the spacing is different on an alliance. I wish they had though, it would be great for an alliance with that 8 x 8 max field.
I hope they will come out with more sizes for the flat bed. Also so they can be used with the cell phone app for positioning on the meridian. Do you know if the 7x14 magnet one can be used on a Meridian? (I actually own the Brother equivalent, but it should work same as Meridian).
Another question: Have 4x4 & 5x7. Love them now. I need a bigger one. I only have up to 12” space on Array so confused about what to buy. Also looked at Mighty Hoop. What larger magnetic frames do you have to recommend? Thanks.
@@EllicottCitySewVac love sticky stabilizer. I got my first roll of it from Sulky when I got my Ellisimo Gold 2 over 14 years ago. Now have a Solaris 2. I don't understand why people present sticky stabilizer as something new! I love it because you can just patch it and keep using for a long time!
I can't guarantee it without trying it myself. Saddle pads are THICK. Maybe if you've got a dealer close by bring a saddle pad in and see how it holds?
