We use Singapore Dimensions math with my kindergartner (oldest and only ‘student’ right now). We really like the curriculum, but I do wonder how it will go when I’m schooling more than one because it definitely is a ‘together’ type curriculum at least at first. So! I’m happy to look at these flip throughs of other curriculum! Thank you for taking the time to do it. 😊
Thanks so much for the flipthrough! I am very interested in CLE math. How long does 3rd grade math lessons usually take? How teacher intensive is it in your opinion? I have to littles underfoot also so I have to use my time wisely
I know this is super late, but CLE is not teacher extensive teacher at all. If your child can read, they can learn independently because the lessons are written to the child directly in the book. If you are looking for a curriculum that will help your child be more independent, this is it.
My son is a hands-on learner. Would it be easy to incorporate manipulatives with this curriculum? Is there any guidance in the teachers manual that gives multiple ways to teach a lesson? Asking for level 2. Thank you!
Not multiple ways to teach a lesson but lots of manipulation opportunities. You can definitely bring in manipulatives. I recommend getting teachers manual and one book and seeing how you like it. It’s very affordable
Do you feel like this is a through enough curriculum (we'll be in 5th grade)...I heard you mention you added in things..can you elaborate on what those are as well.
Also heard you say you had used Math u See (this is my first video of yours) can you elaborate on how it compares, likes, dislikes...was looking at that one too but wasn't sure I'd like the mastery approach.
Ok so I use both Math U See and Christian Light Education. Because Math U See is such a mastery it allows for there to not be so much repetition. At the time if I notice my child has already mastered a concept we just move on to the next or if my child is having difficulty with a concept, I will pause the other program and make sure that the concept is understood before we move on.
This program is very thorough and does not need any supplementation. I do two Math curriculums because my children enjoy math and it is not two overwhelming for them but CLE is more than enough on its own.
