He's on this month (December 2019) doing Knocked Loose's "Mistakes like fractures" and he's doing a whole recording/production course with them as well.
I will now proceed to fanboy. Will, you’re one of my heroes! You and Kurt Ballou are my favorite metal producers ever! Thanks for sharing your amp sounds with us!
This plug-in has streamlined my workflow tremendously! Before, I had to throw my DI files into Garageband to get a tone that was somewhat okay but now my direct signals sound and feel like a proper tube amp! This is amazing!
The only thing keeping me from using this every single day is the lack of MIDI controller support. I really... REALLY want MIDI controller support, guys! Aside from that, the tone coming out of this pack is gargantuan, and I love it. Phenomenal stuff!
had Howard, but hesitated with this one. went to the website, spun the wheel - $20 off! BOUGHT! sounds great - they sure are right about not needing any post processing.
This sounds incredible. I like that those tones don't just sound like the generic stuff either. Each amp has its own differences. You know those plugs where everything kinda sounds the same like it was all based upon the same code? This somehow doesn't do that. Great work guys! Need this in my life.
This is an incredible guitar plug-in with an incredibly brutal sound that still outperforms many of its contemporaries in sound despite only having 5 factory cabinets, you can use a lot of incredible third party impulses and then you will be in seventh heaven, the sound is extremely expressive and there will be flajolets sound absolutely on all strings, unlike other plagins. Of course, no one bothers to buy Neural DSP Nolly and just mix the finished track tracks obtained from STL Tones Tonality Will Putney as a result, your tracks will sound like in expensive studios!!!
Just tried to trial version last night, gotta say ive NEVER been satisfied with how guitar plugins sound out the box, usually gotta fight with them for a bit to find a sound i dont hate, first chord i stuck after loading it in sounded great, the more in depth i got with it the better it got, love the work flow inside the plugin, its smooth, easy to use, and sounds great, i have a kemper and its my primary, but damn does this make it simple to track my guitars di with a great tone to reamp with the kemper later, but this is mix worthy for sure
Northlane Singularity was one of the best mixed album I’ve ever heard and that’s not a preset on here, you’re kidding me!!! Literally WHAT! Great looking plugin though, but my god Will, missed a huge one there IMO
instead he went with the awkward, muddy wash that is Silent Planet's last rhythm tone. it would've been sick if he threw in a Quantum Flux delay preset too haha
Was skeptical, already own Amplitude 4, Bias FX 2 and Amp 2 and was pretty happy. Tried Nameless and was like is good but pricey. Listen to this demo and bought it. Just put it on a some DI track and it sound wonderful...
Amazing how much technology has evolved! I already own a bunch of packs from STL for my Kemper and I will definitely be checking out this plugin! Might even review it on my new channel!! Anyone reading this if you want a nice kemper pack get the Will Putney Bass pack for bass tones and the Brian Hood and Dan Korneff packs for guitar! You will not regret it!! :D :D
I've had the plugin for 2 years now and the software updates has only made this plugin that much better! If only the cab and IR section was exactly like the Lasse Lammert stl tonality you guys just released, man that would be even more phenomenal. As a matter of fact STL should make all there tonality plugin UI's just like the newest Lasse Lamert , just sayin. Anyone saying they can't pull a good tone outta this fell and bumped their damn heads lol! This plugin is amazing and you really gotta try to get a shit non usable tone from this plugin, as long as you got a decent PC and some monitors this plugin sings, beautifully or brutally, whatever you dial in! Keep up the good work STL, update that cab section though hahaha
@@synyster2269 The Will Putney Suite is it's own plugin. You can use it as standalone as well. However, in order to use preset packs for Tonehub, you have to have the Tonehub plugin purchased before you can use any of the packs.
I've tried VST for guitar a lot - I've tested it a lot over a long period of time! STL - Tonality plug-ins = the best guitar sound with great playing experience! Neuraldsp compilation - the hat is full - there were more expectations - here is a real itch. SC11X - from Mercurial more or less.
I actually tried it and could not make it work.. I went back to guitar gods. That has some pretty awesome tones.. I did however get a track done with your martial classic
I bought it last week and I'm loving it! the only thing i wish it had is more control over the cab sim and a better IR loading interface, but since i also just bought the Zilla Cab plugin from GGD it opens up the can of worms even more! and the amp sims of Toanlity Will Putney sing with the IRs from Zilla!
@@absolutelynot554 since the version 2 update they significantly improved the cab sim, with many different mic positions and the option to load your own IRs
Hey STL. I have this plugin and so does a buddy of mine.. Great job on the BTW! Is there a way to extract a preset i have created and send it via email to my friend so i don't have to explain what moves to make over the phone lol? thanks.
When I use the 6505 there's knobs and options that don't seem to do anything noticeable like switching power amp tubes as well as focus and presence on the amp.
Got this and I will say....It's Amazing!! However, with Studio One 3, when using this plugin, I've seen my CPU usage as high as 75%-85%. Using other plugins other than this, my CPU usages will be about 10%. I will probably update my system a bit. Still, definitely a great product.
I straight up sent STL's support an email asking for this function. MIDI support is the only thing keeping me from using this as my main guitar plugin.
@@rapdracula Good question! Well, for example, let's say you'd like to use this plugin live. With midi capability, you'd be able to connect a midi foot controller (such as a Rocktron Midi Raider, Voodoo Labs Ground Control, etc) to your computer by either an audio interface with midi input ports or, by a midi to USB adapter. Once that's connected, you'd be able to use that controller to change presets in the plugin, turn effects on and off, change amp channels, etc with your foot controller by setting up and assigning midi program changes and/or midi continous controllers. In a studio/recording environment, you could automate various controls of the amp. For example, you could set up a midi controller lane in your recording software to do things such as increase/decrease the amp model's gain control or, turn a delay pedal on and off at certain points in your song, change amp channels, engage boosts when you want them, just all sorts of awesome stuff. This scenario is essentially midi automation with in your DAW of choice. Anyhoo, sorry for being long-winded. I hope I've made sense in my response. Wishing you a killer Sunday! \../
I’m new to plugins and amp modeling but I’m struggling to get a decent tone out of this plugin. Obviously it can be done, and I’m not working with crazy high quality gear, but everything sounds too fizzy and too bassy. Any tips?
What I'm wondering is: these guys develop and market their plugins, but do they use their plugins on their own albums, or do they still use real amps? I wouldn't care either way; just wondering.
He said with the eq inside the plugin theres no need for much post processing. So i think they made high and low pass filter. I always do 150 up to 200 and 7500 to 8500. This is a good starting point to get the fizz and most of the useless low end away
a question: can you bypass the cabs entirely? does selecting ext IR without an impulse loaded bypass it? i tend to mix IR's and it seems like i could only pick one in the ext IR loader
Has anyone else had a problem installing this on their computer? I have windows 10. Bought the plugin a cpl days ago but when I go to install it I have an error message that says there files are corrupt, please get a new copy of the program. If anyone can help it's much appreciated. Been dying to try this out
a little bit wierd i need overdrive in front or all preset sound very bad! Yes i have set the input level in the vst to hit like in the yellow. Anything wrong??
@@STLTones yeh i have done it correctly just can't figured out why i need overdrive in front to get the near same tone in this vidéo i have a solar A1.6 with Duncan solar pickup! And audio card is Focusrite 18i8 gen2.
Nothing Left to Love is a VH4? Really? I could have sworn it was a 5150, I've played a vh4 with a v30/tube screamer combo and I didn't even get a similar sound.
GGD drums are amazing if you're on a budget. They work with Kontak's Free Player now too so all you need to buy are the drum libraries that are processed and mix-ready.
