Today we look at the world's most expensive and over-the-top BBQ grill on the planet: the Komodo Kamado Big Bad 32 and we'll find out if it's all hype or the real deal!
Thank you for the great review. FYI the 32" in that tile has 4,048 tiles. BTW the new splitter has a fence that slides on two rods and can be use in any position.. If you are right handed I suggest putting the closed side if the splitter on the right and fire on the left so you working hand is shielded.. ;-) Dennis
Hi Dennis, thanks for the comment. It's been a few years since we talked, and it looks like business is booming for you! It's been 5 years since buying my KK and I'm still amazed at how well it looks and cooks! I will be posting some videos in the near future, showcasing the KK in action! I'm planning on a pork belly on the KK rotisserie so be on the look out for that! Take care...Scott
That's by far, the craziest BBQ pit I've ever seen...simply stunning! I saw Joe Rogan bragging about his Komodo Kamado grill on his podcast awhile back and he even said it was expensive so I know it's out of my price range lol!! Awesome to see though.
The cost is a definite turn-off for most, but when you factor in the longevity and the fact this will be the last BBQ grill you'll likey purchase, it kinda makes sense.
I also have the 32” KK, best grill on the planet and Dennis is without doubt an awesome individual. I’ve never seen a negative comment on him on the KK forum and that is unheard of.
It's not your cup-o-tea, I get it and that's ok. But your over-simplified and mildly amusing comment completely misses the true ingenuity and engineering that went into the design of this Kamado cooker in the first place. Happy grilling!
I’m a keen perfectionist and your grill looks great and close, except the temp gauge on the dome looks slightly off center to the right compared to the center of the handle Maybe your camera angles
That was a different manufacturer all together and those grills were affectionately know as K-pots by the Komoda Kamado community. It's a totally different company and as you can see, my Komodo Kamado hasn't lost any tiles in over 5 years of use. These are the real deal but they are expensive. Joe Rogan raved about his on his pod cast last year!
I originally downvoted this video because the title is misinformation. This is far from the most expensive charcoal grill. For example, the Kalamazoo kamodo grill starts at twice the price of the Komodo Kamado 32" (more if fininished in optional marine grade steel), and their more conventional grills costs enough to get five or more Komodo Kamados. This is certainly not the World's Most Expensive charcoal grill. Most beautiful? This is subjective, but I agree. Indeed, mine is on its way from Indonesia now. That said, I watched one of your other videos and found it to be of high quality, then I watched this and found the same (and that your channel is just starting), so have removed the downvote
Point taken and you're correct, the Shokunin is more expensive however it's not a traditional Kamado. Maybe I should've titled it "World's most expensive Kamado" as that would be a little more accurate. And no, I do not consider the Shokunin a true Kamado, but hey, that's just me :) Enjoy your new KK, you'll absolutely love it!
Classic case of over promising and under delivering lol. I actually intended to show the cook but ran short on time because it was Christmas dinner. I had to finish the video the next evening so I wasn't able to pull it all off like I wanted. That and my wife was in my ear about filming on Christmas lol. I do have another video cooking ribs on the KK. Hope you checked it out!
@mikeismad2313 A kamodo kamado grill is stunning in any color and really has to be seen in person to be fully appreciated! A weber kettle grill is a great cooker and a treasured piece of American culture. That said, you are either in complete denial or out of your effin mind if you would take that over a KK. I've grilled meat on everything from steel public park grills, weber kettles, offset cookers, you name it and nothing, and I mean NOTHING comes remotely close to cooking on a Kk.
@mikeismad2313 Lol...the Weber "Kamado" is not even on the same planet as a KK, maybe not even in the same universe. You're comparing a high school JV team to professional athletes... and that's not hyperbolic either! Both will grill a steak the same and roast a rack of ribs the same but they are most definitely not the same in any way!
BGE is a good pit, no doubt. But speaking of overpriced, the BGE is outdated and cost much more than it should compared to the competition! Kamado Joe is much nicer and a better value overall than your BGE. And BTW, you should thank the people at KJ because the BGE hadn't had an update in 30 years prior to KJ coming onto the BBQ scene and stealing their market share! Talk about resting on their laurels and soaking their customer base! Folks at BGE should be ashamed!
