I know I mentioned the muffler delete in the last video but I think it’s a must for these cars. It’s insane how quiet these are from the factory. Let the world listen to that glorious s62!
The shift knob is made of Burwood, and it’s very expensive something like $500, the next thing is your speaker grills they match the interior latches. That means you have the upgraded stereo system, which is hard to come, The wheels look very good like you say, and believe me they are OEM. The rest is going to be all fun I’ll be watching! Ps: think twice about your headlights. Those lights look beautiful once your cleaned up and put the H6 or H8 headlight bulbs in place of the stock.
Great info. And the headlights are only a few years old and in very good shape. They look nice, but I like the halos better. I think I got used to them since I had them on the 03 M5.
I had a 530d in its sister colour titangrau, I put the full M kit on it, bar the wheels this looks a lot like my old one, I miss it, yes they are getting old but there is something about the e39 they are just timeless, they still get looked at, still appreciated by car lovers, man this video makes me want another, or my old one back! Definitely the best colour imo
Nice video, your enthusiasm took me back to 2011 when I bought my 02 Lemans. Glad I bought back then. IIRC BMWs in this era came with 4 keys. Some PO could have gotten another valet and wallet key for some reason. Also you may want to think about the F10 shifter, really like it in my 06 M3. Enjoy and I'm looking forward to the videos.
Mines Anthracite with the same interior spec, not sure if yours has fold down seat but mine does not. Mines a 9/1999 build so it’s one of the very first sold here. Looks to be pretty clean, enjoy it!
Make sure you get the right A/C the pre-facelift cars have a rest button that changes with the facelift, you can retrofit the newer one but thought I’d share this tidbit of info

maybe on camera they look off. I had about 5 other E39 owners see them in person and they all agreed it looks like OEM finish. I will spend some more time trying to find out if they've been refinished.
