Despite our jobs as hospital social workers being so hectic at times, I genuinely do find your work week videos to be relaxing! I’m watching this as I head into this Monday. Discharged 17 patients on Friday so let’s see what awaits me today 😅

Hi, I am loving your content so much! I am thinking about getting my MSW next fall so the application process starts soon. I am curious, if I take a school social work concentration would I be able to switch to medical social work freely after a couple years if I wanted to? What steps would I need to take if any?

I am studying social work, and in fact this wasn't what I planned to do, so I feel that I have lost my way and I am looking all the time for someone to guide me. I wish I could regain my passion so that I can continue on my path 😢

The amazing thing about social work is that you have a lot of different doors you could open. You don’t have to stick to one specific part of the field or role. I wanted to work with foster kids specifically (hope to do that one day), but I am currently going for pediatric social work because that’s what speaks to me now. Don’t feel confined to what you thought you wanted it’s okay to change your mind completely too.

I am getting clinical hours! I think most you are able to - maybe dependent on how much a role is strictly discharge planning vs more clinical work
