This is a boy soprano song from the movie, "The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring" called In Dreams. Download this song and others of mine for FREE on my website! www.seanholshouser.com/free-do...
Well, everyone, we finally made it. After 4 years (to the day!), I have reached the landmark of 1,000 likes on In Dreams. When I started out with this channel, I had no idea that this cover would extend to where it is now, nor be so embraced by so many people! I was expecting my channel to end up somewhere in the depths of RU-vid, never being noticed by anyone other than a few friends of mine; I have you all to thank for proving me wrong! I have this video to thank for my jump-start into music as a career, as it has opened so many opportunities, even post-voice change! So again, thank you all so much for making this dream of mine take one step closer to becoming a reality. Next up, 100,000 views! :) I love you all. - Sean Holshouser
Sean Holshouser I never forgot you performing this song and go there and back again. First heard it shortly after my father died. It still touches me. You sent "something" to the people. Thank you!
Sean Holshouser You got there because both you (for recording it for our enjoyment) and your voice (for being so good) deserved it! Do keep it up the music and good luck to you for the future. From an Aussie mate, Richard.
***** Edward Ross was the singer in the movie. All I did was make a RU-vid cover of the song that happened to take off more than I had expected it would :P. I am only one of many, many cover artists, and many singers have done far better interpretations of this song than I could have ever hoped to achieve, when I was still a boy soprano.
***** My dad has been playing the piano professionally or semi-professionally since he was 5 years old, and he's been the principal keyboardist for the Houston Symphony since the 80s. He was a huge factor in getting me into music, as thanks to him, I grew up being around it constantly. I'm just really lucky to have him. :)
Sean Holshouser This is such a beautiful song and it is fair to say that you and you dad perform it perfectly! I'm glad I found this because I've been looking for a "live" performance of this song ever since I saw a video of it in musical class a long time ago. I think that was from a DVD musical of LOTR or something like that, I'm guessing it's Edward Ross.. Do you have any idea where I could find that?
lyrics When the cold of Winter comes Starless night will cover day In the veiling of the sun We will walk in bitter rain But in dreams (But in dreams) I still hear your name And in dreams (And in dreams) We will meet again When the seas and mountains fall And we come to end of days In the dark I hear a call Calling me there I will go there And back again
The beautiful pristine voice of the young boy is very beautiful indeed, but the pianist is equally good and in my opinion, one of the best I have heard. What a brilliant duo. I'm sorry I have not come across this sooner. Thank you for the great performance.
THANKS FOR THIS!! Boy trebles are a fleeting miracle: for 5 or so years they have the purest, most amazing sound imaginable.. then they turn into a teenager, lol. During their brief time in the spotlight however, they give us all much joy.
Sean, just be honest : Do you sometimes miss your old voice? Nowadays it is sooo deep and full of grace, I love it. But 10 years ago it Was also great!
9 years after upload , I discovered it . I'm just another unknown man , addicted to it from an unknown city in a country very far from yours. LOTR is emotion❤️
Notice to Everyone: Free downloads are now available for (almost) all of my songs! I went back into the time capsule that is our music room and pulled out the original master files for everything and converted them all to WAV files for use as downloads. Keep in mind that WAV files are the uncompressed, lossless sound files, meaning you'll get the original sound of the songs (rather than the compressed, downsampled versions that you hear on RU-vid). I am putting this out there as part of the launch of my website, seanholshouser.com. As such, all downloads can be found through Adfly links at www.seanholshouser.com/free-downloads.html. The links are ordered based on video view counts, if that makes any more sense; basically, the more popular the video is, the higher on the list it is. You can also find the audio recordings for two unreleased tracks there, "To The Sky" and "Into the West" (done solo by my mother, Eileen Holshouser). Why are we using those terribly ad-filled Adfly links, you may ask? Well, you must understand that we are not a rich family; it costs a lot of money (as well as time) to make these videos and recordings, and a few cents earned from a few ads being played never hurt anyone, right? You don't have to pay anything; just click the big yellow "Continue" button on the top right after waiting a few seconds; DON'T click anywhere else. Well, hopefully that explains everything; more music will be coming within the next couple of weeks, as well. More Simon and Garfunkel, anyone? :) - Sean
Sean, this was a wonderful recording. As an ex-chorister in the UK, at my ripe old age, I still prefer boy sopranos over any other type of singing. I know that your voice will change, as all boys voices do, so I really do appreciate capturing this beautiful song performed by a talented young singer.
I ache to see the Houston Symphony's performance odd The Fellowship of the Ring, again, because this young man's performance brought me to tears. I swear, no matter how many times I hear him sing, he literally takes my breath away! Fantastic work, Sean, I look forwarded very much to hearing you sing again :)
Wow this is simply beautiful.Your voice is a gift. Do not let it go to waste and use it wisely like you did here. And I must say, the piano on the back was amazing. This was flawless work
You were excellent as a young boy, and a delight to watch and listen to. Your voice has now matured, I am delighted that it has done so, in such a fantastic manner, you are truly gifted, and so are we who have the pleasure of listening to you. Thank you young Sir.
fantastic! kid is blessed with his voice and artistic talent. sure he made and will make a great carrier in professional singing, even after change of voice.
Sean Holshouser, please, keep doing music. You've born for this, and it's for kids like you that I keep my hope on the future of the music. Thank you for this wonderful video. Best wishes for you!
He looks like he belongs in the movie somehow like an elve or something legolas son or something xD he's so adorable!! And his voice.. wow!!! Awesome job dude!
