I was originally a much bigger IF fan, and then lost interest (mostly post Come Clarity). Over the last 20 years, DT became my favourite band, absolutely love them, they're criminally underrated.
imo In Flames used to be "The best band in the world" when I was younger, I'm sad they got hooked on a different style.. But I will always support them, but i will keep their old tracks on my playlist.
you can like both for different reasons and in my case because all sides of them are like therapy for the souls if youre in certain places ...so in flames we trust
Absolutely! I've been saying for years when they started sounding like their side band Passenger they should have just called themselves Passenger. Kind of like Black Sabbath eventually renaming the Dio era Heaven and Hell to denote the change from one era of the band to another. Keeping the name In Flames was entirely for marketing reasons because they had built up such a strong brand in the metal community they knew it would sell. But in doing so they got the backlash from fans seeing In Flames on the cover and getting more Passenger instead. It would be like a Body Count album that was really just another Ice T rap album. Promising one thing but getting another. At least that's what many thought. Those who liked the changes good for them but those don't are more than welcome to feel that way and aren't wrong for it.
Thank you thank you thank you for reacting to my one of two fav songs of all time! What a banger it is. Glad you enjoyed it. My second fav is also from In Flames and is December Flower. It is going to blow your mind
I saw them a few years after this came out (on the same tour "In Live We Trust" live dvd was recorded) with Trivium opening. They were one of the few bands I've seen live that can only be described as relentless. This was the closer, Pinball Map was the opener, and the shit in between was stuff like Behind Space and Food For The Gods. To this day I have never been more exhausted after a concert than seeing In Flames. I slept for 12 hours after that show. In like 2004 they were, in my opinion, THE band to see.
I freaking love In Flames! They, and Dark Tranquillity built my soul in my teenage years. They still give me rage. Please, please do Only For the Weak. The original recording. Love you guys.
Me and my brother were huge in flames fans ..me still sad to say my bro was killed in a car crash played inglames at his funeral bought vip tickets to there concert had a q and a with them they told them about it they all signed a shirt and gave it to me b4 they went on stage there all down to earth stand up guys
Seen them a few times! The last moshpit I got into was at an In Flames show. I was having a blast and then someone is dragging my across the floor out of the pit. I got knocked out cold for the first and only time in my life. Apparently a crowdsurfer kicked me in the back of the head. All of my friends were like "where did Allen go?"
Soundwave 2009 Stage 4 Last band final song, my sweet shadow... was the most fitting final song of the night and one of my absolute favorites. Clayman album was by far my favorite but In Flames were one of the first Scandinavian bands I was ever introduced to and I'll always love them \m/
Great reaction as always guys! This is a classic melodic death metal, definitely a go to for me for this band. If I can request a lesser known melodic death metal band to check out that are top 5 for me is The Absence. So many good songs to choose from but not many videos to view, so try the song Enemy Unbound first. Thanks.
SynlakrosS - Colony (In Flames cover) Female fronted melodic death metal from Spain, vocalist Patricia Pons has some of the best female gutterals, she's absolutely brutal. She can sing too and have a cool cover of Nightwish's Wish I Had An Angel which I like more than the original.
Never noticed before, got a deaftones wibe from this song in the calmer parts. And video was a bit Corn. Ald inflames fan that might need to revisit there "newer" music.
Any In Flames before and including Clayman is acceptable by us 'old school' 'In Flames' 'elitists'.....just saying (what millions also want to say)....Love you, great vid/reaction....no disrespect
