How amazing that you still got all that food from neglecting your garden! And much still coming!

Love to see harvest from my gardens. I can only have a balcony but gave tomatoes, lettuce bowls, herbs cobtainers and lots of colourful flowers. I enjoy puttering in my small garden. Great job, Sophia

Huge improvement! We can not ever do everything, no matter how hard we try and no matter our intensions! Give yourself credit for everything you do excel at, my friend! You are Awesome!

Whew! That was a lot of work. You got such a lot of tomatoes! I had two hug plants that I planted and a volunteer...NO TOMATOES! not a one. I have 4 plants going for fall and am hoping to get some tomatoes. This is the second year that they did not produce. I have moved my garden to a different location while in the midst of drought... we took that time to relocate beds, amend the soil and start new plants for fall. We also built a greenhouse from recycled materials. Freedollars! It is looking much better for fall. I can’t say we got nothing this year we harvested potatoes, garlic, beans, corn, and melons ( cantaloupe and watermelons) but we sure missed out on many other vegetables that didn’t do well for us and were burnt to a crisp too early. Like you we had a long rainy spring, when that dried up...everything died! Great job on the garden clean out. Looks great!

I lost all my celery to a fungus this year 😢 ! Well I’ve lived and learned . Your correct about the garbage gardening year. My squash is starting to be great but other then the cucumbers everything else was poor and struggled due to the heat.

My garden had problems this year too. My lettuce planter became a bed for the neighbours cats! My carrots are no bigger than my ring finger, my onions never showed up, neither did my garlic. My peas were few and far between. I’ve had 3 tomatoes so far. The only things that have been prolific are the raspberries and strawberries. I’ve lost 2 azaleas, 1 rhododendron and another one is looking peaky. Also my Paul’s Scarlet climber has died. I have landed it 30 years ago. And another rose bush that I planted last year has gone. Plus 2 honeysuckles (yellow) that we bought this year. I suspect it was the nursery’s fault though. Although it could also be that I’ve had CoViD 3 times since April! Anyway, enough of my moaning. Your garden is beautiful. I love how upbeat and optimistic you are all the time. Stay happy. 😍

My garden and the flowerbeds were overgrown at the end of August also. I was gone for 3 weeks and with rain and a fertile soil, the result is a lot of weeds, but lots of vegetables (tomatoes) also! I do not tackle all at once, rather a bed a day. I also bring in more mulch in the hope of reducing those weeds! Enjoyed our video. Thank you. Gardening is a lot of work, but very rewarding.

My garden was a sorry looking thing. The chipmunks and little rabbits got into it even with fence. The plum tomatoes did alright and peppers. My son does most of the gardening because of my health. But he works all the time.

Sophia, this year my cucumbers didn’t do very well. We also planted pumpkin seeds for the first time and it was a flop. Not one single pumpkin. It started out great but not sure what happened. We did corn this year and the raccoons came and ate some. Well I still got a lot of veggies and love my garden. Your secret garden is so beautiful :)

You lacked pollinators for your pumpkins. Do you have a lot of flowers in your yard?

Sophia to late now I’m sure but rotate your crops never the same crop in the same spot follow leafy with root crops or nitrogen fixing plants like bean legumes helps improve soil health and prevents soil nutrient loss.

Yeah, you got white fly bad and cabbage moth. My squash and pumpkins got obliterated by Pickleworm. I made a video about it and am off tomorrow so, I may get it up. The rain has just been nonstop and I had to dig up my Anna apple TWICE due to her drowning. I may just overwinter her in a pot. Just a bad year for the orchard and garden.

They were definitely wild strawberries. They taste good but they’re tiny. At least it shows you cultivated strawberries would do well if you planted them there.

You must be strong all that weed pulling. Your garden looked good compared to mine. You can plant kale for fall and garlic. You might could plant lettuce and spinach.

It Was a bad drought in Connecticut my garden was ok. I cover my brassicas and spray with BT it’s organic. Also collards really do well in the cold months so next time chop just the leaves and new leaves will grow

I can imagine you are tired. Bent over like that would kill me. I was glad you wore gloves, and then they were gone. Your poor hands. (I can't work with gloves). Well done to you (& Scott) for having such a cute garden.

I want a garden I just don’t hVe the energy right now 🤪 I use to have one for the first boules years we moved into our current house. Maybe one day again. Although August & September is a good time to start a garden in Florida especially if we have a very mild winter again this year 💜

Start with containers. They are much easier and if one fails you can just cart it away.
