I can't say I'm missing the Welly winter, especially since I cycled to work 5 days a week. That was a miserable affair.

@@TrailAtlas And you always knew the wind would be against you in the morning, then switch to be against you in the afternoon. Worst city for cyclists. Best city if you get your money building cycle lanes... They are about to remove the parking in front of my building (which has been selling Steam Cleaners and water blasters for 50'ish years) for a cycle lane... because I know how many of out customers roll up on their bikes... And the rest of the customers (100%) can push/carry their machinery 100 yards round the corner.

@@TrailAtlas Oh wow amazing - hopefully not literally!! Squamish is also a well renowned kiteboarding spot, you should get lessons and then you can kite back in wellington on those windy days you wouldn't be riding :D

I walked down to scope out the line and especially the roll out. That's definitely the most challenging part. To be honest it's not as scary as it seems, the granite is super grippy. If you can control your speed for the roll out you should be fine. Best of luck with it!
