Soooo. The doctor changes his daughter's abusers gender, makes him look like his ex wife and then falls in love with him.... This is wrong in so many ways...
This is the weirdest form of revenge ever put to paper.... "You caused my daughters death- I SHALL MAKE A BEAUTIFUL WOMAN OUT OF YOU AS PUNISHMENT!!!" "OH MY GOD- wait what?"
It is indeed a horrific punishment. On top of that the man lost all his freedom and had to live his life as a pet. Can't even kill himself if he wants to because he would be rescued every time he does. It is a living hell worse than death. This movie just goes to show how wicked and twisted humans can be.
@@chrisl9934 I agree fully on the twisted part although I don't think for the same reasons- if someone killed my kid, my immediate thought isn't going to be "You killed my son- PREPARE TO BE TURNED INTO A BAG OF CHEETOS!!!"...
The man is completely outrageous. First he blamed that boy for his daughter's condition, then did something so illegal to avenge her but at last fall in love with the same just because he is a beautiful man!!!! He deserved the fate he received. 😤
Gosh I hated every single character. I hated Vinciente for abusing an already emotionally unstable girl causing her to not only forget her father but become further depressed resulting in suicide. I hated the father for torturing Vinciente only to freaking fall in love with him, I hated the father's brother for being completely disgusting and repulsive, and I hated the mother for simply existing. Like I get it if the father was planing on having sexual intercourse only to torture Vinciente further But to actually fall in love with the person responsible for your daughters death? Thats where I draw the line. One thing to extract your evil diabolical revenge, another to ruin that revenge with love. Like if you're going to be the main villain DO IT RIGHT. Other then that, and the graphic sex scenes this was a very good movie
thats why i loved the move "Law Abiding Citizen" you really cant say anything against the way he got revange :) if you havent seen the movie its great!
actually my mum had told me a similar story, this is how it goes. there's a beautiful girl who once had met with a carpet maker to buy a carpet, the carpet maker was struck by her beauty and asked to marry her but she refused, he didn't take the rejection very well so he went on and r@ped her and then killed her. her father was utterly heartbroken and shattered, but him being a plastic surgeon he decided to turn the carpet maker into the most beautiful woman. he abducted and then trapped the man in his house for months, he studied all that is necessary to make a successful transition and continued to make plastic surgery on the dude, he first changed his sexual organs then changed his voices while continuiously injecting him with hormones all the while depriving from social interaction and making him go under a strict diet. finally after all surgeries have been done, he went and bought provocative clothes and did his make up and then released him to the public. he did all of this just make him undergo all the shits that a girl (whether attractive or not) goes through. and he went through them all, but upon his release he first went to his assistant in the carpet gallery and guess what.. he got raped by his own assistant because he didn't recognise him.
Wtf is this movie? Did that dad just fall in love & also have sex with the guy whom he blames responsible for his daughter's death & also old enough to be his son?
He didn't really changed the gender. Only the physical body. Gender is how you identify. Your gender isn't determined by the body, gender confirming surgery is meant to give transgender people a body that aligns with their gender.
Beku NEEM/// do snakes have problems, maybe there's shedding involved. Wouldn't that be cool, every now and then one could become brand new and improved! LOL
You know what is absolutely ridiculous about this movie? That it’s so convenient: the wife just couldn’t trust her genius husband to fix her face. Their daughter had like the worst reaction possible to an abuse. Robert had a half brother that his mother abandoned and he was a sexual deviant who happened to do to Vera what Vincenzo did to Nora. Vincenzo crushed on a girl who worked at his mother’s shop who was a lesbian so he could only be her friend but now he is Vera which means she can have a relationship with her… so convenient….
The daughter started out consenting so he wasn't exactly a rapist, he just responded badly to her anxiety attack making the father think he did rape her and the daughter maybe too. And as a side note I bet transwomen would dream of surgery this good, turning into such a delicate woman after puberty.
This jogged my memory of a movie where a deranged doctor and a huge assistant kidnap a young man and torture him, slowly making him into the daughter the young man had raped (forgot what happened to her after that as she's not in the movie). It was a pretty disturbing film, from 2010 if anyone is interested it watching it. Sort of a "Tusk" feel to it.
@@lightsong5629 "Victim" from 2010 (there are tons of movies with that title, but this was directed by Matt Eskandari. I'll have to rewatch it, I just have fuzzy memories of it, but it obviously made an impression.
The daughter Racheal was still alive, but she was basically brain dead and is mercy killed in the end. The doctor and his assistant are both killed after a attempt to recreate the rape of his daughter the assistant is killed and the doctor dies shortly after, the young man then escapes and is forced to live under a new identity as a woman also dealing with the mental trauma of being forced to believe he was the daughter (brainwashing during the movie).
Must say you find the most unpredictable, uncomfortable, utmost well acted movies in the world! I honestly did not expect the ex-wife looking victim to also be a transgendered killer of his late depressed daughter. Interesting twist.
All he did was try to have sex with a woman who CONSENTED, but she just started going crazy all of a sudden which made Vinciente panic and run. I don’t think he killed her.
he didn't killed her. He sexually assaulted her and she killed herself. They use that to justify everything bad the dude made on him, but it's still not justified in the slightest.
@@paulogaspar8295 He didn't even really assault her either in the typical sense. The sex was consensual but when she had a panic attack he tried to shush her and slapped her because she bit him. Douche move but not that bad tbh
Absolutely love this movie! Been telling my friends about this for years! Yes, the movies "fkd up" -based on some comments I've read, but there's so much more to it that the actors add to the story, great acting in general especially with their emotions.
the ideas behind it are just too dumb. And this trend that horror movies do of making a dude assault a girl and using that as a justification that now they can do everything terrible that you can possibly imagine to that male character is kinda of a weird sadistic trope.
@@innerbeauty9441 Thanx, well, I don't think we should tell stories about films with spoilers, the film exists and all who want to watch it, can do that, it is hard to select a good film because we live in a time when there are so many films, and many, way too many are of low quality. I read some comments about how it is convenient to watch these recapitulation videos, there are so many channels that do this "recap", but I am watching just part of it, just to decide if it is worth watching because I don't think that video with some selected scenes and recapitulation that might be good and correct and then might not be correct, is equal to watching the whole film. That is why I am just saying that it is good and certain aspects that are important as casting, thespians, cinematographical technique, all are good in this one.
Pov: man kidnaps teen who touches and hurts his daughter and does serious surgery on him to turn him into a female then makes him look like his wife to sleep with him (well "HER" now) then gets killed by his new dead wives doppelganger
Honestly feel like in cases of forced gender reassignment surgeries, they probably would still go by their original pronouns, in this case he/him, but what do I know, lol.
What I know from modern times, 1. Consent is a constent process 2. This guy assaulted Nora 3. Everyone supported Vera because assault can be forgiven if it's a woman 4. Had Vera still been Vicente then no one would have bat an eyelid if he died.
@@h0rriphic You are right that two wrongs don't make a right, and this guy assaulted the daughter then killed the father, there is nothing wrong with a little righteous indignation at the fact the original perpetrator is still alive and the father of his victim is dead. This stinks of "let's blame those who are hurt by the crime and not the criminal because, 'nuance'".
In the original French novel, Eve and the doctor cover up the murder of the burglar near the ending. They continued living together, happily it seems. Knowing that this film is from the same director as All About My Mother, I was both pleased and not surprised. Both films are excellent.
Being Spanish I had a really hard time listening how he failed to pronounce "Vicente" every single time, I didn't even realize that was his/her name until I saw it on the newspaper.
So many questions left unanswered! So many wrongs on so many levels! But ever so grateful for the time that this recap has actually saved me which I'll probably use to watch more recaps 😁
He essentially took the person he'd hated and transformed him into the person that he'd lost. Rescuing Verawas the one thing that he'd failed to do for his wife and daughter and he fell for her. Too bad Vinciente was just trying to GTFO.
All I can say is wow. I rewatched it in 2021 and it became one of my favorites. I cannot get over how artistic this movie is very thought-provoking love it ❤️❤️❤️
ppl saying he should accept the fact she was screaming / had a panic attack during consent sex and "She'll defend him when she's calmed down", yeah, right... xD
This is actually a *GOOD* movie. Most of these "I'm gonna do the recap of the whole movie" videos are only done for like How Did This Get Made?-quality movies. And yeah the movie is next level *BONKERS*. But it Is also good.
Hold on a second if he was a plastic surgeon of such amazing skill he could turn a man into a very convincing copy of his wife. Then surely he could have helped his actual wifes burns fairly easily.
@@Jacob-ir6zi That dosn't answer my question at all. It never crossed his mind once to say to his wife "Although I love you regardless of superficial things like looks I can return you to how you where before this accident if that is what you desire. All I need is time and your consent to the procedures". Well what ever
You left out the opium which robert gives him either to keep him physically hooked so he wont try and run or as a way to keep him calm which is weird considering all the anti anxiety meds available
@@peapopea yeah but it was kinda weird him giving him opium when theres all sorts of opiate pills that do the same thing without having to inhale plant secretions
@@eriktruchinskas3747 i mean wouldn't it be kinda sus that he was buying so many opiates from companies? id think he'd need them wholesale, plus he's a doctor so the DEA would've been on his ass in a week for drug dealing. maybe opium is easier to get? maybe he bought it from a private opium cultivator or sth.
@@peapopea he could have prescribed his housemate them and given them to vera, its less of a stretch than this renound surgeon buying opium off criminals
@@peapopea it used to not be as big of a deal prescribing people opiates. Only recently have governmental agencies really cracked down on prescribing people large doses of opiates
the better version of a revange movie would be "Law Abiding Citizen" instead of falling in love or doing weird experiments on the people, still insanely good cast for this movie (they did their job really well)
Based on the explanation he did not abuse her, she freaked out causing him to also freak out and knocked her out then ran off, the whole thing looked like his fault, when it actually made him a victim. (Edit) Its sad that the old lady was dragged into all of it, but it is funny how now he got a chance with his lesbian crush.
Having seen this movie as a kid with my mom, I'm glad to find out years later I'm not the only one who thought it was super messed up. I mean, it obviously is, but whenever my mom took me to the movies she would always go for the most fucked up shit and I just sat there wondering whether it was normal for a kid to watch these kinda movies.
I remember watching this for my first time...that moment I finally put two and two together and realized Vera was Vincente was a surprise like no other.
Question: I never saw the movie, just this video. After the mother jumped out the window killing herself the caretaker implied the daughter who saw it (who happened to be the caretakers grand daughter) did the same. Then we find out she lived on and was assaulted ending up in a hospital. So was that just a poor choice of words? Either way this is one big messed up family.
This movie is crazy. But reminds me of a movie called "predestination". This woman is a time travelling detective that eventually becomes a man and then goes back in time to bang himself as a woman and also give birth to himself. Lol
So to summarize- He avenged his daughter by abducting and physically changing her abuser (to look like his dead wife…) and then fell in love with him…? Well ‘her’ now😀
The interchangeable use of female and woman and man shows just how much work has to be done. Vera is still a male. Vera is a transgender woman. Both things are true.
@@miruz3519 As a sociopolitical conservative and a Christian of the Evangelical persuasion, I acknowledge that there was a time in history when in the legal codes of most empires, civilizations, and cultures, the penalty for adultriy was death, officially for both parties, but practically for the woman. But even if the penalty was not capital punishment, but "merely" disgrace and social isolation, it was usually the woman out of the 2 offenders that suffered said penalty. In most modern national and municipal seatings, the "punishment" for marital unfaithfulness is divorce and hardly even a moderately bad reputation. We may speak and discuss that an aggrieved partner is theoretically "justified" in doing emotional and physical violence, but the only legal and social system (that I know of) under which the official punishment is death...Islamic shariah law. We may discuss within the confines of the story that Vera's unfaithfulness drove the doctor to kill her (or whatever he ends up doing) but is the moral rightness of that a legit excuse?
@@miruz3519 You're right. Pretentious. Apologies I'll shorten it. The Dr killed the original Vera for cheating on him (if I remember correctly) Did she deserve that?
@@wrybreadspread nope, despite knowing about her affair, he took care of her and start learning how to transplant a new skin because of her accident. She killed herself by jumping from her room after seeing how she looks like.
While I think that it's messed up that the doctor sleep with his daughter's rapist, I think the viciente deserved it literally forced himself on the girl that is disgusting.
Same!! I honestly think that’s a fate worse than death. I’m transgender myself, and before transitioning I would cry every night, self-harm, and attempted to end my life (earliest time 6 by starvation, I thought it wouldn’t take that long lol). It sucks to be transgender bc society (and having to inject hormones, surgery, etc.), but it sucks to have gender dysphoria 10000x more. So, how I felt before transitioning is probably how he would feel, and that just makes my skin crawl right off of my body. I’m now skinless, lol. Seriously though, frightening. Many cis people don’t know what gender dysphoria is like, so I relate to this on a whole other level that is just beyond. The best way I can describe it, at least in extremes (some people have minor gender dysphoria), is that it’s like you feel like someone changed your sex at brith. You know they didn’t, but it’s just off. And you look in the mirror and just don’t feel Ike you see yourself, but another person, like in the third person. Every aspect of yourself. Every time you speak, your voice isn’t right. Every time you look in the mirror, it doesn’t feel right. Every time you shower or go to the bathroom, it’s just so wrong. And your hormones are incompatible with yourself. Something more relatable to cis people: gynecomastia. Male breast growth. That is what gender dysphoria is like (albeit minor because this isn’t your whole body. Micro penis. Having a flat chest (as a woman). Growing a beard (as a woman). Those are some things cis people experience that tend to make them uncomfortable, similar to the trans experience though not completely there as it’s missing the hormone aspect.
When i saw this, I couldn’t believe a thing such as sex change existed, plus how this guy was forcefully changed to his dead wife’s image. Glad he died but could he have had it reversed?
I mean not perfectly, like it would be difficult to get to his original appearance, and it'll be impossible for him to have children anymore, but otherwise it would be possible to do a surgery to change him back into a male body. Basically give him the same surgeries as any ftm trans person would get. Also i would assume some testosterone supplements would be needed after presumably long time on estrogen. Also all of the surgeries would definitely take a toll on his body. Like even normal sex change surgery is challenging and extremely physically taxing, and like all surgeries carries some risks, so imagine doing it twice. Also I would imagine it would be more challenging to operate because it's not something as common, and the doctors wouldn't have as much experience operating on a body that has already been operated before.
As he said earlier that " he had a crush on cristina but she was a lesbian " So its making sense,He would prefer to be in female appearance to have love of his life rather than as in male appearance..How fortunate he is !!!!
@@awayxx_here attraction and identity are two separate things.... I don't think it would be possible to live a happy life as a gender you don't really identify as and feel that you truly are. Changing your gender for other people would be like the dumbest move possible. People and love come and go, but you gotta live with yourself your whole life, so living in a body that isn't truly you doesn't really work.
@@henkkahenrik4183 I am totally agree with you dude !! But I was just explaining why didn't he change back to real him even he could do that...I told What i thought...Not more than that..Moreover,I am agree with you that You have to love the way you are..Thank you so much..❤️
