Clark Kegley I can see that you are very passionate about what you say and do and about making a real change to peoples lives. that is beautiful. However, your doing some of this wrong. Please forgive me for saying that, let me explain. In order to TRULY change your life you must eliminate your identity. i honestly do have reasons for saying this and methods to do so but it would honestly take hours to explain. i would be writing a book rather than commenting, hahaha you see most of mankind's problems stem from the material world and identification with people, causes, objects, nationality and labels etc, if you create or develop a pre-set identity, you are putting yourself into a box. this box becomes a prison in your mind, a lot of the time we don't even realise that we are trapped. once a person sets goals and works towards them they may feel like they have a purpose in life for a short while but once their desire is fulfilled and they finally get what they want, this creates a chasm in the ego and you find that you still want more. life becomes a vicious cycle of wanting something, suffering, attaining something, feeling stuck and then wanting something else. it is never ending, those who live like this will never find joy or peace. they are just dying in instalments. the best way to find peace is to turn inwards, create distance and let go of the things that you believe are you. and don't look to external sources for joy or fulfilment, don't rely on anything but yourself. I would be more than happy to explain these things in further detail if you like, you can definitely be anything you want to be and reach any goal you wish but it can be done in an easier and more natural way. if you do things right then everything can and will naturally just fall into place without all the stress and willpower and you may even find that somethings that seem essential to you may become meaningless. I really do like you, and enjoy watching your videos, I can see that you want to improve peoples lives and your own life. and focusing on your spiritual awareness can definitely help with this.

Identity shifting means embracing change and growth as a natural part of life. Allow yourself to let go of old beliefs and patterns that no longer serve you, and focus on building new habits that align with your current goals and values. Remember, your identity is not set in stone and can evolve over time. By embracing change and shifting your identity, you'll open yourself up to new opportunities and experiences that can bring greater happiness and fulfillment to your life.

Shifting is easy because it’s a state of being and changing is harder because it’s effort! This is what I needed thanks!

Don't lie, please. If it would be easy everyone could do it. To reach your identity one have to do a lot of inner work. Many people go to psychotherapy and can't change or shift identity for many years, so it is not easy at all.

@@railk.4630it’s incredibly quick and easy bro🤣. Literally write down who you want to be and visualize and begin to act like the person you want to be at once. I did it in like a week. My friends were puzzled how I quit being an angry psycho in such a short period of time

I am a clinical Ericksonian hypnotherapist, as well as an NLP Practitioner and trainer. I got my start in personal changework over 21 years ago by facilitating seminars for Alan Brown who, at the time, was Tony Robbins' top trainer in the U.S. First off, this is great content--and is reflective of Dilts' Logical Levels model, which I use extensively. With that said, I believe the fundamental challenge most people face lies in an internal struggle between various parts or 'ego states' that make up facets of their total identity. For example, there may be a conscious part of a person that wants them to be wealthy, while another unconscious part views wealth as highly dangerous or threatening in some way. What I have discovered--and this is very, very important--is that a person's outer reality is going to invariably be a reflection of the inner world of their most dominant part. In other words, if a person lives in poverty, it is because a dominant part of them lives in a world where poverty is the norm. Now, the typical approach, until now, to resolving conflicts between two or more conflicting parts is to, first, make their roles and motivations explicit, then to mediate some sort of agreement or compromise between them. This seems to be a logical approach--until one understands that each part of us, even those 'problematic' parts, is operating according to perfect logic, given the context of how each part views the world. In other words, if you viewed the world from the perspective of that part, you would do the same thing--even if, from a logical or "healthy" viewpoint, it seems crazy. Therefore, this tells us that our goal should not be to mediate agreement between our parts, but to change their internal perceptions of their respective worlds so they are in alignment with our goals of self-actualization. How would that look? Well, let's say you, consciously, want to be wealthy, but, when you search your feelings, you sense there is a part of you that is really afraid of what wealth means. What I suggest is that, rather than denying or trying to suppress that part, you open your awareness to why that part has that orientation. Maybe, the part understands that the commitment involved in achieving wealth will involve a sacrifice of time and energy that you don't currently possess or can afford. With that understanding, one might work to challenge the part's limited model of reality so you can show it all the ways you can afford that expenditure of time and effort.

I find this is really accurate for me -- consciously desiring something, but unconsciously finding it threatening. I wanted to be more visible to get more clients and grow my business, and I was so frustrated because I wouldn't actually put myself out there, even after committing to my goals. I'm normally a highly driven person, but I'd keep relying on referrals and existing clients rather than be visible outside my circle. I realized it's because "being visible" was threatening to me. I didn't want the wrong person from my past (like my mom) finding me online because it would put my life and my children's lives in very real danger. At this point, I had escaped about 7 years prior and barely survived people trying to hunt me down for years, and I didn't want to relive that. So of COURSE I was going to keep playing small because I wasn't willing to risk my life or my children's lives just to grow my business. I worked through this with my OCD therapist and did some ERP around it to know it's safe to be visible. (It also helped I changed my name across all platforms, so I can't be found anyway.)

@catstickler I am glad you found my comment insightful and, hopefully, helpful. The most intriguing part of this, for me, is the realization that it is not a conflict between a rational part of us and an irrational part; rather, it is a conflict between two, or more, wholly rational, but different, worldviews. Thus, the goal is not to overcome irrationality with rational thought. It is, instead, to bring conflicting parts to a place of new perspectives.

If I may, I'll ask for a piece of advice, too. After having denied my most precious dream for years because of having been told it's 'impossible', I finally came to the conclusion that it really is not. It is, however, a goal very distant from my current reality. How would I be able to implement a shift by taking baby steps, if my life looks so different? Very briefly, I am an INFJ personality type. I want to find a way to help people and have a wonderful partner to work with, someone able to love me as deeply as I am able to and even to help financially cause I'm a caregiver in a country with no prospects. Where to start if, at this moment, I live in an environment where I can hardly delude myself?
@Wolf88888
@Wolf88888 6 месяцев назад
@barbarav4046 Hello. Here is my suggestion to all my clients who want to make a major shift in their lives: First, you must clearly define your highest values and ultimate goals. Be specific on what you want to achieve and why it is important to you. Secondly, switch from an 'importance' mindset to a 'relevance' mindset. Rather than always trying to do what is 'important', keep your focus on those things that are related in some way to achieving your highest goals. The more relevant, the better. Third, be honest and courageous. Most people engage in a lot of self-delusion when it comes to investing their time. Realize that every moment of every day, you are investing your time in something. Many people kid themselves that what they are doing is important when the truth is, what they are doing is often not taking them anywhere closer to where they want to be in life. If you want to be successful, you must invest your time and resources in what will move you closer to the achievement of your goals. You must also develop a habit of taking decisive action, or taking bold steps, not merely building up to success. Some people spend so much time preparing for success, they never follow through on those critical steps that take courage and can actually make them successful. They are like actors who diligently study acting, but never audition for parts. Obviously, both are important for success, but no matter how much you study, unless you audition, you will never be able to call yourself an 'actor'. My advice to you is to write down specifically what you want to achieve. Review your goals every day in the morning. Then, make a list of things you could do on that day. Do all the things that are related to the achievement of your goals before you do anything else, if possible. Pay particular attention to those things that take courage, but could pay off big. Work as hard as you can, until you can do no more. Then, turn the rest over to a higher power. ;)

What a smack in the face that i needed. My parents divorced when I was a year old. My dad lived a nice wealthy life and my mom drank and was on welfare. (Both were loving parents) I've personally used that as my identity my entire life. I would sabotage chances to become more successful than my dad without even knowing it. If offered two jobs I would take the one that kept me just above my mom but bot above my dad. I would tell the story of being the best of the worst and the worst of the best. I am 43 years old and i never knew why i would do this but knew i was doing something stupid when I could look back on it. Thank you, its time to tell a different story.
