What a lovely ride! My kind of places. RU-vid can be disheartening! I (Ol Man) thought of giving up recently too. On the review front; most manufacturers marketing departments are seriously hopeless, and have no clue what RU-vid could do for their brands, hence why for instance, Bennets and Carole Nash get the scoops, but nobody watches those channels. Anyway; lovely bike and lovely ride 👊🏽
Thanks Darcy, peaceful runs out in the country is where it’s at. I’ve given up trying to get bikes now to review. I have the two bikes I love to suit me and that’ll do for now. Hope your liking having your full licence now. More freedom to come. Thanks Nick
Nice ride.... I have a Royal Enfield Interceptor and a Classic 350 and for touring Honda ST1300 Pan European..... The Enfields are by far the most popular on my channel so most of the content features them.... I'm a sucker for modern classics and the Diamond edition of the T120 is a favourite as is the 2023 chrome. If only one bike it would have to be omni competent and uber reliable so some sort of Japanese made mid weight adventure bike 😊👍
I recently swapped my Kawasaki Ninja1000SX for a new black Speed Twin 1200 as my only bike; it sits along side my Caterham 7 in the garage. I’ve not had chance to testing out it’s touring capabilities but up to now I’ve no misgivings. I just can’t get past how it looks…..😃
Past My my test last November at 60 I got a new speedmaster which I’ve got 3000 miles on and I’ve got a Honda 300 rally for when the weather isn’t so good 👍
I have a 2018 BMW GS Rally with panniers for touring. A heavily customised Triumph T100 for bimbling and a 2001 Honda Blackbird for going out on a blat. So that’s touring, bimbling and blaring nicely covered. If I had room I’d buy at least one, maybe two more.
After owning BSAs in the sixties and then other brands in the intervening years, I finally realized the search for motorcycle happiness was over with the T120.
Thanks for the video, always a pleasure to watch and discover nice places. After 30 years riding BMW, I fell in love with the Triumph modern classic motor. So much so that I actually own 3 of them. The Scrambler 1200 XE, T120 and Speed Twin 1200. I love them all 😁 If I had to keep only one, it will be the Scrambler as it is the more versatile of the 3. Ride safe
I have now my 7th Triumph Tiger the 2023 Rally Explorer as my everyday bike. A Husaberg FE350 for the Enduro races and finalen an Atv CFMoto 450 as the work horse. Keep up your good work.
Hi Nick....I have a VFR1200F with full panniers for touring. Recently went around Wales which was lovely. For local rides I have Honda cb1300s which ivebowned for 14 years. Both bikes are quite heavynlumpscand as ibget old will be looking for something a bit lighter. Like the look of your Bonneville butvare they a lot lighter than the CB1300s?
I have BMW S1000R such a docile bike for pootling around lanes or can be a mile muncher! My other bikes Ducati 848 streetfighter such a great noise, Ducati 749S great poser machine but as uncomfortable as hell and an old GSXR600SRAD used for tinkering with, money no object I’d have a Ducati V4 Streetfighter. Great content by the way keep it up.
Currently got a cbr650r I'm looking at getting a tracer 7 GT, if the wife allows me the extra few Bob i will be having the tracer 900gt+ can't see it mind 🤣🤣. Brilliant video as always, I'm very happy your keeping the Chanel going. Balls to the 10% 😎😎😎👍
After over 40 years I’ve just bought a Triumph 875se 2010 with the alloy wheels , very pleased , collect it on the 15th September , just finishing buying my gear , can’t wait 👍🏍
Hi, I have two bikes. Royal Enfield Meteor 350 and a Himalayan. I'm not too far from you. South West Cumbria. On the edge of the Duddon Estuary. I agree, we live in a beautiful part of the country. Perfect for bikes, although the Meteor is a bit unforgiving over rough roads. Thanks for producing these great videos. I've yet to explore Bowland so your information is very welcome. 👍👍
I'm fairly new around here, so I must have missed where you thinking of closing down the channel 😲 I'm really surprised to hear that from what I've seen. I do realize it must be difficult when you are working full time. I have to admit I'm not a fan of (my) editing...love the riding and the filming, just not a fan of editing...hence why I don't post my videos🤣 That looks my type of ride through the Trough of Bowland, I was due to be up around there in the middle of July but my 1985 Honda XBR500 in Gloss Black which I've owned from new, popped a fork seal on a pot hole in Wales, and I had a few 'problems' getting it sorted, and then the weather turned to poo...So I cancelled. 🙁 Ever had a gut feeling that says...This just isn't meant to happen..... The Honda's not going anywhere, toured the Pico's in 2018 and Santiago de Compostella and the furthest point West on the Spanish coast in 2019 (Finesterra) Total mileage about 3500 ...never missed a beat. 'We' ....I do that too 🤣....were booked on the ferry to Santander 2020 but we all know how that went.... 'They' want over a £1000 to take a bike on the ferry to Spain now...when I went it was £635
Yes I know editing can be a pain, I keep everything simple to reduce time there. Yes the channel will go on and thanks to everyone that spoke out saying don’t shut down. It’s something I love doing and yes with full time work and family it does take some planning and a good wife 😂 still to get to the picos maybe next year 👍
I think the Ducati Multistrada V2S would be my no expense dream all round 1 bike does it all, but my Triumph Tiger 900 GT is more affordable and a close 2nd. Both excellent all rounders but if you are talking 2 or more bikes I would probably go for something like a 1200 GT pro and a 900 scrambler with maybe a smaller bike for some greenlaning (I'm keen to see if the 450 Himalayan lives up to the expectation as it could be ideal 🤞). Also quite fancy a KTM 690 single......we can dream!
Hi Nick, What beautiful scenery. I always look forward to your enjoyable videos. To answer your question about which bike would I ideally have.. I have owned a Black Bonneville (carbs) for 17 years, I look after it meticulously. I am originally from Baildon in Yorkshire, but live in The Netherlands. "we", my bike and I, have toured Germany, and more recently toured Yorkshire (July and August 2023) I am so attached to my Bonneville, I wouldn't have the heart to get rid of it. It's part of me.. So my ideal bike is the one I already have. Cheers, and once again many thanks for your very informative and interesting videos., Best Regards, Tim
Hi Tim, Many thanks and appreciate you tuning in 🙏 I hope the weather was ok on your trip over here as August wasn’t the best, September seams to be better now. The Bonnevilles are real motorcycles 👍 character, great looking and agree its not a bike i want to see the back off and will be in the family for a long time to come. Cheers and have a great end of summer and wish you many great trips on your Bonny. 👌
I started last year with 1 bike a Triumph 1200 scrambler XE . Wasn’t any good for touring , so I bought (new) Triumph 900 RP in green for touring on , did 2 tours to Lake District 3,000 miles and sold it because of the horrific handlebar vibes and numb hands , that’s why I never went with the 1200 , I blamed the 270 crank !! . I bought a new GS instead , ..later I was seduced by the moto guzzi v100 and traded my scrambler for it ..didn’t gel with it and found I was taking the GS out more and more . Even on short weekend runs , now I’ve sold the Guzzi and down to 1 bike the GS and tbh it’s god tier . I might take the Ducati V4 rally for a spin or perhaps have the new diavel as a second bike next year . I’ve measured the cabin and it’ll fit 🤔
I purchased my Triumph Scrambler 1200XC in June of 2020, and have since put just shy of 30k happy, trouble-free miles on it. I live and work in the desert southwest of the United States and have found the Scrambler to be ideal for my needs. In fact, my Triumph has been one of the few large purchases I've made over the years that has yielded absolutely zero buyer's remorse.
A bike that does it all 🤔. I'm off to the Alps next week, 2 up with my girlfriend. Camping the whole way. Going on my Triumph scrambler 1200 xc, I'll let you know if it's the "do it all" bike! 🤞😂
In answer to the one bike question...I currently do only have one bike, a Triumph Tiger 1200 GT Pro, and to be fair, it does do it all, however, I do live in hope of getting a second bike for short rides out, and that would be a Triumph 1200 Scrambler XC. However, as a one and only, do it all bike, having now owned both the 900 and 1200 variants of the Tiger, I'd go for the 900. The 900 has as much power as I ever need, is light enough to manage, yet will still do big miles touring.
I’ve got a Tiger 800 as my everyday bike. A Street scrambler as a summer bike and a Honda monkey as a fun bike. Really enjoy all of them but if I could have only 1 it would 100% be my Street scrambler it’s just perfect . Ride safe 👍👍
Great film thanks I ride a 2021 T120 and have to say best bike I've ever owned however at 59 years of age maybe that's an age thing I would say it's a very versatile machine and in reply to your question one bike in the garage I think this is the one My daily ride all year round is a little Mutt 250 perfectly matched pair
I'm ridding similar Bonneville but in Sapphire matt colours. It's my first bike but for sure it will stay with me till I'm old. It's great as a commute bike and for longer trips. One question - what app you use for recording sound? Engine sounds amazing on your recordings.
Great all round bike I agree. I bought mine as a keeper to pass down over the years to my girls. The app on my phone is monitoring the mic in my helmet and I use the app as a remote control. The mic I use is professional grade called Instamic and records 32bit float. Not the cheapest but I do love to get video and audio right. Tbh it’s been a long road many years of trials to get the set up right
Nice one, I've been up to Slaidburn today ( Friday ) bacon butty, over to Bentham, then on to Settle for coffee and cake, what a great ride and highly recommended, living the dream.....
I have a brace of Tigers, one Meriden one Hinckley, Meriden under repair at the mo. Thinking of changing the Rally Pro for a T120 next year after one last big tour, I'm nearly 70 now so may have to scale down the tours
as time goes by my bike choice has had to change . 5 years ago i was riding a honda blackbird ,now have peripheral neuropathy so gear change foot lazy and foot position memory not 100% . enjoy a honda sh 125i ,and a honda forza 125 s e . done well to ride still at 74 . wont give in while i still feel safe .
must do that road from Slaidburn to High Bentham, thought when you were going into the chocolate shop you were going to come out with a nice big box, poor girls ! those roads really look awful this year never seen them so bad, I must have missed the poll, the 10% must have been Richy's boys !
I have the tiger 660 sport does it all for me but I do want the bonnie t120 but sadly only room for one bike , great channel really enjoy your vids my play ground is the Peak District 👍
As a returning rider in my mid sixties i only have one bike and for my biking return i chose a 650 Versys to get me back into biking, it doesn't encourage to ride like Rossi and to answer your question of what would be the one bike for a do it all bike i would choose a Z900rs because back in the 70's i always wanted a Z1 and there was no way i could afford one on my apprenticeship wages and the modern Z900rs brings back those memories but i think i need a couple more years experience before i decide whether or not to buy one. love the videos and keep the channel going.
After two ducati,s in 6yr I settled for the Streetfighter V4S purely for comfort and the smoothness of the V4 motor. As I only ever go away for 6-7 days at a time I like to travel light
hi nick i replaced the karoo street tires with the pirelle scorpion trail 2 on the rally pro 1200, it became another bike, no noise and much more driveable. ✌
Morning Nick, as I have been trying to create content for myself, I am so far behind with other channel’s I enjoy watching. Good to hear that you are not giving up. Now, I’m not the brightest button in the tin, so editing probably takes me longer than others, but apart from the obvious enjoyment I get out of riding, I do enjoy the editing process as well, even if it does take me about 5 hours to create just 30 minutes of video 🙄😂. As for bikes in the stable, I think two is a nice number. I recently sold “Honour”, my Interceptor 650, with the intention of buying a Suzuki SV650, but due to a change of plan, I am now just down to the one bike, Clementine, my RE Classic 350. A brilliant, do it all, go almost anywhere, bike. Easy to put in the back of the van, to take on holiday’s with us. We aim to do lots of that next year. If I feel the need for speed, I will just take a demo bike out for review. I went past Spring Wood a few months ago, and the Burger Van was at Spring Wood then, perhaps they are seasonal traders. Maybe not much trade out of peak times. Cheers
Morning Ian, all far behind, I’m editing same day I ride atm. Hard to try to get videos lined up due to work and family commitments atm. Love the classic 350 👍 yes not sure about the van, I guess it can be quiet up there at certain times of the year. Have a fab week 👍
@@MOTOUK1 When I do local rides here, I edit the same day. It’s only when we go on jollies, taking the 350 with us, that I end up with a mass of vids to edit 🙄😂 All good fun. Thanks
Fab video Nick. I ride through the Trough regularly now I`m back riding. It`s a stunning place, I do agree however the roads are awful in places ! I`m just back from Ireland last weekend, I`ll be editing it soon ! 😃😃😃
Absolutely adore the T-120 and have been to the local dealership three times in the last 4 weeks. It will be my next bike. Currently I ride a Harley Electra Glide and a Honda GoldWing GL-1800 since I travel long distances. I am also in the process of rebuilding a 2004 Harley Road King and have a 77 FXE Super Glide in the garage and up next for restoration.
Hi. New to channel and enjoying your content. Living in Clitheroe I recognise many of your routes. FYI, I wasn't able to download the gpx file via Scenic, / your link, something about 'Cannot download GPX because user sharing the route is not Premium'.
No problem. I'm semi familiar with most of the route. The gtx files are a real help. Thanks for this addition. It gives me and no doubt other followers the motivation / inspiration to get out on the roads less riden! Keep up the good work!👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
that sheep waved as you went by. lol good scenic views. I used to have 2 bikes a Harley Davidson fat bob 114 2019 and I had a Tiger 900 gt pro. i found the HD was costing a lot of money to service, so i sold that one and then on a visit to Triumph i traded my 900 gt pro in for the Tiger 1200 gt pro. i am torn in getting a Triumph T120. i do love my Tiger 1200, but i would have the display off the 900 and the weight of the 900 too and i would be well happy, but now triumph have the update to lower suspension i can't wait to have that done.
Yes I have had mine only for 9 months but loving ride it as much as I can and then it brings a smile to my face every time I look at it parked in my garage
Thanks for carrying on. I realize the effort it takes. I’m of an age where where taking videos then editing them for general enjoyment is quite intimidating. I’m in a ski town in Idaho where there’s not a lot of pavement. Up and down the valleys then the rest is dirt. That’s all fine and we have our fun but watching you cruising your back lanes is lovely. I think it lowers my blood pressure! Thanks again and please keep it up!
@@MOTOUK1Have you tested the XSR ? It is one of the few Yamaha bikes that doesn’t look like a bug 😂 Looks very nice in person, liked it better than the MT10. Just wished Yamaha would spend more quality (money) on it as it could end up being a real classic!
Hi Nick, love the content - glad you’re keeping the channel going. In the next few months I am hoping to pull the trigger on the exact same bike as yours. If you didn’t have your Tiger, what top 5, or 10, mods would you do to make the T120 more long distance touring friendly?
Hi Nicholas 👋 thanks for tuning in. So in have made all the mods i need to my bike, not a cheap option if you go for triumph accessories. I added a centre stand which was a must so i can get the rear wheel off the ground and lube chain. I also added rear rack again triumph original. The side bags are SW-Motech Legend quick release racks which i love they really fit with the classic look. For touring i don’t like a screen on this bike so cant comment on these. Seat is comfy enough i think. I added radiator guard from Motone and a new skid plate in black. Only downside for long touring on the T120 is the spoked wheels being tubed, so not easy if you get a puncture.
@@MOTOUK1 I’ve definitely rewatched a few of your vids regarding the mods for the T120 - they’ve been really helpful. Currently deciding between the T120 or Tiger 900 GT Pro. In Australia, after fitting a few accessories to the T120, the price is on par with the Tiger 900 so makes the decision a bit more difficult. All the best, Nick.
Lovely cruise around such gorgeous countryside Nick 👍👍 just did a 2000 mile trip thru Idaho and Montana on the Trophy SE. Now onto getting the T120 gold line in for repairs. Ironically I started her up last night and the check engine light is now off 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️.
For a few years, the one bike for me was the Suzuki V-Strom 1000, but hip and knee problems meant I have now discovered the delights of a Honda SH350 step-through scooter. It takes me everywhere the larger bikes did, but at less cost and just as quickly! Even small bikes can be fun.
A very nice and informative video,i love the English countryside and the old buildings and churches.I ride a Triumph 1200 bobber black and a BMW C650 Scooter i take each one according to what kind of mood i´m in.Thanks for the wonderful ride and ride safe.🍀🍀🍀
🤔 I’m not sure there is just one bike that can do it all for me. Maybe the KTM 1290Superduke GT, but then i do like a bimble from time to time. I currently have a Triumph Street Scrambler for country lane bimbling & a KTM 890 Duke R for country lane hooning 😉. Nice vid, lovely part of the world.
Nice video, nice bike, nice landscape! Please do not stop posting your videos, they are informative, nice shots and even as a German one understands your English. 😄 As for the question about „one bike fits all“: hard to answer. At the moment my wife and I have three, one Multistrada V2, one Multistrada V4 and an Aprilia Tuareg 660. All of them are fascinating in their own way and we can not decide which one is the best. Pure first world problems!
Great Video Nick. Sound and Video great as always. Been following you for some time now Absolutely loved the Switzerland tour you did. My all do it bike is BMW GS. Only had it since June and already done over 5k on it. It's been about 40 yrs since I last had a bike. But now I've retired I'm back into it and loving it. Think it was your Videos that inspired me to start riding again.
Thanks for a great video, the quality of the film from your new camera is outstanding. I've only just discovered your channel and, yes, please keep it going. Best regards.
I only passed my CBT in June and I've got a keeway k light for riding the dales at the moment. Looking at a Enfield supermeteor next year when I pass my test. Enjoying all your videos, cheers.
Hi, I’ve been watching your channel for some time now and you make your area of the country look great. I only wish I lived nearer. I’m looking for a little advice. Can you please tell me how you fix your mic to your helmet. I have a DJI mic set but am not sure the best way to fix the mic to a flip front helmet, any advice would be much appreciated.👍
Hi and thanks for following along 🙏 I don’t use the DJI wireless mic but a separate standalone mic that I then sync camera footage with audio. Flip front helmets creat a bit of an issue with wires. What mic are you using ?
@@MOTOUK1 hi, I’m using the DJI wireless mic. They have a clip and magnetic fixing which don’t provide any suitable mounting. As you use a wireless mic I wondered how you attached it to your helmet.

@icemodica I don't have the DJI mic so I don't know how it fixes but with a flip helmet (I have a Schuberth C3) I've had decent results with it attached to a 'boom' directly infront of my mouth. Like this guy ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-UTGQ_UHQxPY.html (12::18 if you don't want to watch the whole thing) I just attached my mic to an old boom I had from a cheap intercom system.
