In response to your trip ideas, maybe you could go to Cornwall and venture onto st Michael’s mount. Freddie dobs went down through Cornwall on the fat bob or as I like to call it ‘obese robert’. Be a good spot to scout docks and smugglers coves for the bavaria.
Good to see you back on the tiger. I know what you mean about the weather. It’s been pants. I dont want to sell my bike but its hardly worth throwing my leg over her because the weather is so temperamental. It’s nearly July, shouldn’t be having this weather. Sorry to hear about turkey. Was looking forward to those videos. If it floods, at least you have your boat. All the best on the house move. Such a stressful time.
I'm picking the standard model up in the coming weeks and sticking an additional 6 litre tank on the back in a top box. That way, I'm comfortable for touring but have maximum satisfaction!
its only 20mph in heavily built up areas.Other roads are 30/40 and 70 mph.I live in a 20mph zone and none of my neighbours are complaining about the new restrictions. Dave Williams.
I always camp when I do a longer travel on my motorcycle. The problem the lack of comfort. I don’t meen the sleeping part because you can buy a really good airbed. No issues there but the way you sit in a camping/chair. You are completely folded in these chair.
Great review. You mentioned that its uncomfortable on motorways. You can get adjustable foot pegs that im sure will improve the riding position, making it more comfortable for touring. No bike is perfect!
harleys and a lot of honda's come fitted with rubbish tyres... this bike is a great platform for upgrading... it sits comfortably at 70mph... thats all i want so i bought the barcelona blue 23 model with mag wheels and luckily..it has avon roadrider ii tyres as standard... not a trackday tyre but a very good everyday leisure tyre.. my days of high speed motorway are long gone.. i cannot think of anything worse than sitting at 90 mph on a bike again... give me a twisty b road in the country thats real biking.. thats why i bought one..
At Glasson, you should try Quayside cafe. Just accross the lock. Neena and Jane are great. I'm in a scooter club from Blackpool "Rose and Bear". One of our favourite breakfasts. Also try Auction eats in Garstang. Excellent. Enjoy your videos 👍
Thank you, good walk through. I am shopping for a bike and really like both the 900 and the 1200. I wonder, what is the life expectancy really? If I service it well, and on time, change wear parts like bearings and so on, would I expect it to make say 300K Km? Can I expect same ODO as on a car? Just wonder so I know, kind of what is the cost per milage, or km for me. Cheers from Swede in Mexico
Hi Magnus 👋 thanks for tuning in. I used to think bikes can go to 100k miles but with engines being so good these days I guess more with maintenance. I only ever take them to 30k then trade in for newer models
@@MOTOUK1 Well, I cant afford to change that often. I understand that some street race bike that averages 7-8000 rpm cant last so long, but if one is driving around on something like a low rev bike, should they not be able to last much longer. Can one compare the total milage on a 30K bike with a 30K car (pounds, dollars or euros). I mean if I buy a Corolla, I would easily expect it to go 300,000 Km with just services. But can I with a BMW R18, a Can-Am Spyder, a Tiger 1200, a KTM SAS, a Harley?
I have the exact same cover on my GSA and rate it highly. Last big trip for me was about 850kms of n the last day and I could have turned around and ridden back if I needed to. I’d defo recommend.
Biggest complaints I have read about. Is the seat no cruise control? The 2024's do not have ED grips. As a standard option, the windscreen is too short and too skinny. The rear shock, although it has preload. It's simply not enough the dive in the forks.
thanks for the video. Cheers from Latvia. I am having the same problem with this model. Three visors gone since the end of March )) In my case it starts cracking near clip once I ride on a highway at 120-130 kmh not for a long period of time. I don;t know why it happens )
Sounds like if it wasn’t for bad luck you wouldn’t have no luck at all ☹️ Hopefully things will change soon and you will be back on a roll of good luck 🍀
I've all fully booked glamping for next year. Some of the videos with people racing over the mountain pass overtaking cars looks dangerous. Will like to stay away from them. Your pace is more my style. Just enjoy the island.
I enjoyed hearing your thoughts on the new Triumph Scrambler. I was initially taken with the looks of the bike, never before having actually ridden a Triumph. I put a deposit down in April 2024, and took delivery in June 2024. After riding the bike for a few weeks, I really like it, and enjoy all the great features of the bike. The torque and power, and the comfortable riding position really make the bike. It’s a bit heavy, which I am getting used to. The suspension is a bit stiff compared to my KLR650 and CRF300 Rally, but for a bike of it’s size that’s to be expected. Down here in Texas that exhaust heat is a real factor, but it is not a deal breaker for me. Our winters here in Texas are erratic, but, I’m hoping that the exhaust heat will help out in the colder months. I have yet to take the Scrambler off-road, but am looking forward to it. Everyone says that it’s very capable off-road. Thanks for a great, informative review. Happy Trails!
I am 6’4” and this bike fits me well, about the only mod was buying a puig tall windshield and that has helped tremendously with wind noise in my helmet. Worthwhile upgrade but am enjoying the bike.
Hi, I also have a T120 mines a 2016 model . Like the video my question is did that Triumph rack fit without modifying the SW bag mounts? I already have the bags looking for a rack . Thanks.
I had a Khyam tent like this back in the early 1990s for motorcycle camping - it was so easy to put up, just click a couple of polls into place, peg it out and job done. The tent was around £200 back then which was pretty expensive, but well worth it. The only negative was the weight of the tent, but apart from that it was great. It's good to see the concept is still around and now seems a decent price now too.
Got a 2023 speed triple love it it is my only bike as for touring i am a rucksack man don't take the kitchen sink as i think you dont need it stop at b+b,s as for bike goes handles and stops mint with michelin power 6 tyres perfect
Passed my full test in August last year and have put 10,000 miles down since then on my versys 650 - Did the pass this past weekend and it was insanely challenging, but I did it! One of the best parts of the country, though I think Honister pass has it beaten on beauty.
I'm installing a Cardo on my Arai Contour and I do have a question. The chin vent is located exactly where I would ordinarily stick my mic. What is the best alternate location? Just to the left side of the vent? So the mic will be just on the left side of my mouth?
Action 4 has bigger sensor so better picture and wired solution on action 4 is now I think the best action cam sound solution out there. Also let editing time as don’t need to sync video with audio
Lovely bike Nick! I have the Gold Line Black T120, and the first thing I did change was the tyres! What a difference it made, immediately! And, I swapped the front springs with the Tecbike progressive springs and added the adjusters and finished the suspension changes with the Triumph comfort seat! I don`t think I need to change the rear suspension springs...very happy....
used to have a '71 T-120 - and like so many other people I sold it because my Harley Road King fit my long distance riding in the U.S. West better. Now that I live back East I am seriously considering swapping out the Harley for a new Bonnie. Thanks for the great videos on a great motorcycle with a great heritage.
These bikes have lots of apeal as something nicely rounded and they look the business. From a practical point of view I think the GSX1000 GT would be a more reliable choce. That said, I am completly torn on these. How does the Aprillia shape up against the VFR V4 engine. The later is a peach in many ways and it is a shame Honda ditched the format.
Is there an update? As far as I read, the remote can only power on/off one camera. If multiple cameras are paird, the remote control wouldn't wake them up. Is that still the case?
