Hard to believe how poor Elvis was considering how generous he was when he became rich i can understand why good video to show where he lived I cant imagin what it would it been like to buy a house like Gracelands at 22 years old my word
Elvis never lived far from a church. That’s great. No wonder Elvis wanted to Make sure he bought his mom a house. God bless him for loving his mom and making sure she had a great place. Too bad she didn’t live to enjoy it more.
I was born in ST. Joseph Hospital in 1950 and we moved to Whitehaven where we lived until 1967 and then I moved up to my aunt and uncle's farm because Memphis was getting so rough. I remember Elvis and his guys driving up hwy 51 now Elvis Presley Blvd. Elvis was a very nice man to all us kids.
Have you been to Memphis to Lauderdale Courts since your visit in this video? The Spa Guy videos show that Lauderdale has been all cleaned up, painted, etc., and is now a gated community. You can now stay in the apartment that Gladys, Vernon and Elvis lived in.
Dang, this video is old!! Cicah-hhdoes?? Its Sih-kay-das in the south. There's an interstate that roars thru there now. And, like every other town, Tupelo has now built all kinds of shops, stores, hotels, restaurants by the interstate. This is the old downtown. But its still fun to visit and walk around and get ice cream. These scenes make Tupelo look depressing, but its not. And the one mile from the interstate to the Presley home has really come a long way. The EPB has really built up too. It has a walking trail, an outdoor music venue, and other buildings moved in and restored. This film must be from the early to mid 90s? You can travel up hwy 45 thru Corinth, to Shiloh Milt Park, and also the Buford Pusser home and Museum. On another note, I used to go to a Freewill Baptist church ( Alabama) and our pastor's name was Elvis. Elvis and his wife lived on the lake, and across the slough, also at the time, lived a famous young man by the name of Hank Williams, Jr.
Really enjoyed that! I have watched hundreds of documentaries on Elvis but I can really honestly say that’s the best one I have ever seen!! So detailed brilliantly done!!
I realize that I’ve become that kind of Elvis fan where I just can’t learn enough, see enough, or hear enough. I was 12 yrs old when Elvis died , he and Evel Knievel were my hero’s ironically they both wore leather jump suits. Seemed like super hero’s to me in a way. Great film here thanks for posting.
Thank you so much for sharing such important information for all Elvis fans.i had no idea how many homes they lived in.let alone seen them.so thank you for sharing .Isn’t there security at Elvis birth home in Tupelo in the evening.so many places to visit.wow...
Elvis was very popular. His parents were very poor but managed to provided for Elvis. Elvis was meant to be a star !He wanted also to make it as a serious actor but most of the scripts were not great movies like James dean had. But even today he’s withstood the test of time and has millions of fans everywhere
Somebody should buy the old Rainbow Rollerdrome and fix it up nice for fans - all decorated in 50's style, of course. However for old-times' sake, they should preserve a little square of the original floor that Elvis had actually skated on.
This is very well done. Organized, chronological, historical. Elvis was a wonderful son. I had no idea his father was an alcoholic, who was irresponsible. No wonder Elvis’s mom was so protective of him. She had a lot on her plate. Jimmy added a lot of really informative details about the Presley’s unstable home life and the constant moving. Elvis’s mom worked really hard to keep her son on the straight and narrow. It is even more clear why Elvis loved, respected, and was so protective of her.
Elvis's mom was very protective of. Elvis. Presley. I'm so glad she was a Christian woman and took. Elvis to church. There is where Elvis learned his gospel songs. They were so beautiful to hear. Elvis sing. Elvis loved. God when he was a boy and through his adult years. I liked all his gospel songs. What a beautiful voice he had. God sure made. Elvis special. Thank you. Lord for giving us a very fine man of God. REST IN PEACE. ELVIS. SURELY WILL BE MISSED
I have watched videos about where Jesse garen Presley is it doesn't really matter where his body iswhat matters is if he's in heaven and then he's happy up there with Elvis his father and mother that's the important thing and that we remember Jesse in our hearts ❤️ and in our prayers 🙏😔 that's what Elvis and Jesse would have and their parents 2 pray for their mom and dad is well
From what ive heard in several youtube videos about Elvis's twin brother is that when he was born and was dead they put him in a shoe box and buried him somewhere but i got the sense thst they threw him in the garbage bc no one can find his grave.
Wow unbelievable you've put a lot of hard work and time thank you thank you thank you very much for the notification and this is just another piece to the big puzzle of Elvis Presley so happy to be able to find these things out thank you again and God bless you TCB
I'm glad I subscribed to you and getting the notifications. You are awesome to post what we want to see about Elvis. Thank you and may this year be happy for you and everyone that watches/like/subscribes to your videos.
This is the first time I've heard about Vernon being a drunk. I knew Vernon & Gladys fought alot yes elvis had his flaws ( everybody ) does but @ least he wasn't abusive or a drunk yes he was addicted to drugs thanks to the doctors & Parker worked him to death & between all of that we lost elvis. R.I.P ELVIS YOU WILL ALWAYS BE REMEMBERED & NEVER FORGOTTEN. YOU WILL ALWAYS BE THE GREATEST ENTERTAINER OF ALL TIME.
This is very nice to watch. I love seeing this documentaries from the 80’s. it reminds me of my trip there a in 1987. Brings back a lot of lovely memories.
Well done and informative. Looks like this was made in the early 90s. I'm surprised to hear him say many times that the area is dangerous. As many times as I have been there I never saw any trouble or heard of any fans being mugged or robbed.
This video appears to be about 25 years old. Needless to say, if you think a lot had changed about Memphis then, you can imagine what the next 25 years brought. I remember swimming in Clearpool in the ‘60’s. There are two iconic places I wish still existed as they were, and that’s STAX and American Sound Studios. The combined music that came out of those two places still blows my mind.
What is a dump? Memphis? Just like most other cities, it depends on where in Memphis you’re talking about. You can end up a statistic here quickly if you don’t know the town. I feel for some of these tourists. Don’t be sorry I’m not with the chamber of commerce or anything.
He wanted to entail his vo matter, what ever the cost. Grandparents gis mother and his father where the most important to Elvis. If you have anything negative to say. Shut up! I am not that rude to anyone but he deserved it. He was jealous of, He know he couldn't will his shoes or anything else. Don't critiszast what you don't understand.
Just returned from a tour to Graceland. It's a mix blessing but very commercialized and no longer in the country like it was when Elvis purchased Graceland. The good news is Elvis Presley Enterprises purchased land across the street for his Museums, planes and next door The Graceland Inn.
Just absorbed this witness. With this help I believe we will be healed & start all over again. I will speak from my deepest heart about this + my analogy of this shared journey tomorrow.
The coliseum was completed in 93 I think. Some of the video says it is completed and some of it says that the old JC Penney mall still stands abandoned. The sites are one in the same occupying the shakerag neighborhood.
Bahaha, every time i hear about Elvis' 1st GF, its yet a new name, does n e one really know how many he had? Lol. The 1st gf probably think they really were the 1st. Why do we overlook the fact that Elvis was not ever faithful to one woman? Any other man, we would crucify.
lol they are all spelling elvis' name wrong. it's elvis aron presley. his dad got the spelling wrong and now everyone is using that has his right name.
No , Elvis wanted a badge . Having that badge would allow him to carry weapons and his drugs across state lines and nobody could do anything about it .. these are facts
