This is the perfect cargo bike imho. Atleast for what I would use it for. I have a bullitt myself - and the narrow tire just bothers me.

I would buy this bike in a heartbeat. It's so well thought of. Neo drive, pinion, dynamo, fatter tires with fenders, dampening headset, height adjustable seatpost, strong mechanical breaks--the works! V clean, functional, and super practical. Just say the word and I'm ready to throw the cash. Well done!

Very nice bike, i really think bullit-bike are doing a great job at transforming the bullit into something other and also something better! very nice choices of parts you have there, not everything is to my personel choice but i still think this is the most interesting bike of this series! speaking of the tires, i think one of the critiques i would have about the bullit is, that larryvsharry dont change it and dont change a lot overall, but at the same time that makes this bike so wonderful. its a very solid bike that hasnt been changed alot over the years, because it already is a great bike. wider tires tho... ;)

Thank you for this video, really like the pinion version, although I still have a couple of unanswered questions. It would be good to understand the benefits (user experience) a bit better around the differences in the pedal assist options and how the pinion is behaving in real life compared to other available systems!

Hi, I have had both the e6100 from shimano and the pinion + neodrives. The shimano system has the motor in the bottom bracket and the gearing in the back wheel, the pinion is the other way around (obviously). There are different subjects to focus on: maintainance required and driving experience. I’ve had the shimano system with belt and nexus as with chain and derailleur. I can tell you that the belt and nexus is crap. No way around it. The XT di2 derailleur wit chain drives like a dream, but needs a new chain/cassette every +/- 2000km. I would say the pinion drives somewhere between those systems but with 1% the maintenance. The motor is in your rear wheel, so the power delivery is very direct (always there). Downside is that it doesn’t feel as powerful. Let me know if you have some specific questions!
@joworx
@joworx 2 года назад
@@ittai1985 Thank you so much for the comprehensive answer, that’s really helpful! So the pinion doesn’t feel better than a XT drivetrain.. that’s a bit surprising as I thought the pinion would be the most superior option. I did a test ride with a Riese & Müller High speed cargo with a bosch mid-drive and the E14 rohloff.. and switching gears didn’t really impress me, maybe because I am very much used to the Shimano chain/cassette setup on other bikes. I guess some more testing needed.. do you think more power (newton meters) for the neodrive will be needed/desired?
@ittai1985
@ittai1985 2 года назад
Hi, it should be clear that nothing will beat the feeling of a well set up derailleur system. But for a center motor e-bike it just isn’t strong enough. The primary reason for a internal hub gearing system, or in this case a gearbox on a cargo bike used daily should be how little maintenance it requires. Apart from that the pinion shifts very nicely. You can shift under full load. It hardly ever skips a beat. You can’t compare it to a rohloff (which I also used for a long time on a mtb). The rohloff is great, but it’s a very old system. If you want to ride your bike around the world without being worried about your drivetrain you should pick the rohloff or pinion. If you want to win races and tinker with your bikes often, you should keep the XT (which is amazing). See next weeks video which is about my other bullitt, hint, it’s an XT.

Very nice bike. I am going crazy waiting on mine. I have one ordered but it is taking some time getting it shipped. I would really like to know more about that steering damper he has. Is that something I could do? "It's made in Germany, so it's very good quality" It must be nice to have your country known for something like quality building. As an American, all we have is dumb. "It's American, so it's dumb." What a huge difference a few decades of corrupt, greedy, and God-less politicians can make.

I think you're being a little bit harsh on American e-bike's. What about Tern? They seem to be a quality brand? Or at least reassuringly very expensive! 😜 I have no experience of either Bullitt or Tern. I'm in the market for a first workhorse e-bike so checking out some videos.

Any idea who might offer bullitts with a pinion setup in the US? Or is it something that can be installed relatively easily if I just ordered a frame for example and put the bike together myself.
@BicycleLoveWorld
@BicycleLoveWorld Год назад
Hi OssoGrizz, thanks for reaching out to me. To install a Pinion gear they have to cut out the original bottombracket and they have to weld a new bracket into the frame that takes the Pinion gearbox. Bullitt-bike.de are the only ones who have permission from LvsH to do this. But sadly they don't sell to the US. You can check the interview with Norbert Wuddick here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-SJDKu7CW588.html

I have liked the video series so far. Question: is there anyone in the Antwerp / Ghent / other Bullitt clubs owning a Bullitt with a front hub motor, to your knowledge? I would be keen on testdriving one before deciding on my own new Bullitt setup. But have to find a testride first...

At first glance I thought this might be the winner. I like the setup with Supernova, Curana C-Lite Fenders, Hookworm tires, paint and Pinion. Though it's a pity the guy doesn't care for the bike and didn't even rinse it off before filming. Also, a spoke is broken (see at 15:45) and not looking after the bike makes the guy fail in my eyes. By the way you did not mention the name of the fenders in the video description.

Dear Xtian, the concept of this series is to show these bikes as functional tools. except for Bart der Locomotiv no one cleaned his bike. But they all love and care for their Bullitts.
