Dandy Nichols is so so talented,plays off him (Warren Mitchell) so smoothly. Her facial expressions are priceless,her delivery is spot on. Very talented actors
I agree 100% in fact,Dandy Nichols in the early programs" she was more talented "relaxed" at ease, more experienced and,warren had to break in to the scene,kind of manoeuvre in' to the highly successful double act,probably like lots of programs,,but it was revamped and boosted, with Irene handle,Patricia Hayes,also Mrs hollingbury and,carer Winston etc etc,RU-vid's are wonderful to bring us real entertainment,and you tube provides every kind of worldwide entertainment,

Absolutely wonderful glorious Adorable People real talented artists,real honest entertainment,the way we natural humans react to situations, ,it's not bad vicious or racial,it's real and it goes 100% towards a peaceful world,by laughing at situations , Winston was an absolutely wonderful actor and he came in and enhanced this comedy,
he is actually Jewish himself , he supports tottenham hotspurs , has a beautiful posh English accent has done lots of theater . i grew up with things like this and it showed me as a kid how not to behave .
Poor Dandy looked like she was constantly glancing at the teleprompter. It was very sporting for her to reprise her role when she was already in failing health.
I am a bit Eddie Booth from Love Thy Neighbour, I am a bit Victor Meldrew from One Foot in the grave and Alf Garnett. I am 23 and I love all of the old politically incorrect humour.
This was my nan and grandad down to a T - born and bred in the Eastend of London lived through both wars supported West Ham they carried on just like Alf and his Mrs.

Dandy Nichols was great . I love how she didn't take any of Alfs yelling and she always stood up to him a lot as wife should lol . The series wasn't the same without her bless her
A classic comedy a brilliant cast couldn’t of got any better I remember when this phone was first released love them all keep them coming really really enjoyed watching this again

Wonder if you think of the actor Warren Mitchell as a 'snowflake' too? He was, after all, an Oxford-educated, lifelong socialist who was also Jewish. Sort of like a David Baddiel of his time. He also hated bigotry in all its forms and played Garnett as the worst of British foolish ignorance. Seems some people don't understand that fact. Hysterical in itself! :D

Had only Johnny Speight lived, we would have known the answer here. With the show evidently having succumbed to the PC police in its later days, on screen the indications were that Alf was becoming disillusioned with all politicians - which rather figures in real life!
I have no doubt that though Alf Garnett would have been a bit wary of Boris J's flashy style, he would have been thoroughly pro-Brexit. No doubt about it! I can hear him ranting about "the bloody EU" now.
