I was honored and privileged enough to be part of the ISS crew on May 18th 2011. I was fired May 20th 2011. I filled up the solid waste bucket by the second day and I brought my own lunch. Nobody said asparagus was banned on my mission.

Space has got to be pretty important to a person. I could not do that. I am very thankful for my toilet and gravity lol

I love the happy happy ambiance which astronauts always put on when talking to a camera. In reality that way of relieving oneself is something nobody gets used to and for sure there have been tragic accidents...

Interesting, I expected some minor recycling on number two as well - at least water extraction or something? It would also make the remainder take up less space. But I guess since urine is generally very low in germs, while stool is the complete opposite, I guess recycling its water wouldn't be as easy or efficient.

I couldn't imagine going n° 2 on the ISS without leaving a collossal mess of cosmic proportions.
