Yellow ivory will bleach to white by natural sunlight. Avoid direct sunlight, of course, but a bright room with indirect sunlight will whiten the key tops. My Yamaha C7D has ivory keytops and I must always leave the fallboard open to avoid yellowing. Beautiful August Förster! Keep the ivory!
Yes, that's true. It's best to keep the fall open most of the time, though over a lonf period if left open the inside of the fall will become lighter in colour than the top. Marcus
Thank you for your comment. This piano was assessed in 2014 before we made videos so I'm afraid we don't know what the original finish was; it was black but wasn't in good shape. Marcus
