Ever wonder why you can't find what you want in the In-Stock Showcase? Ever wonder why you can't find an option in Custom Builder that you saw in the Showcase? Wonder no more!
When I was a kid in the 80s, the christmas catalog would come in the mail around September. For months, I would scour every page over and over again thinking about which toys I wanted. The Warmoth showcase is my adult christmas catalog. I can browse endlessly thinking about all the cool combinations and playing with the picture it feature. As always, thank you for the great videos and the awesome guitars, Aaron!
I agree. I'm suffering from Stage 4 Inoperable Double Lung Cancer and I'm attempting to learn how to play guitar. These videos are giving Me ideas of Guitar builds. And building My very first Guitar using Warmoth guitar bodies.
DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUDE these are great videos. Hope to see Warmoth along with everything else back to full strength again as soon as possible. The best gear my left handed money can buy. Glad to see Warmoth embracing constructive suggestions and criticisms along with the 'good feels' comments, too many smiley jazz hands is a one-way ticket to Gibsonville! Keep it real and more power to you.
Arron, I have some expensive guitars that I bought over the years, but I still prefer your custom builds , because they are exactly what I want and not a compromise , and the quality is always excellent. I’ll be ordering another body and neck when you get back to work. Have a great weekend
Warmoth is a class act...great company...great products. I have a body and neck on order. This will be my fifth build , and each one gets a custom neck plate that I have a guy laser etch. I will have to come up with a good idea for the neck plate during these strange times! Thanks for the great videos Aaron!
i wish you guys would offer more hardtail fender replacement options in your in stock showcase. i can't be the only one who orders a bunch of hardtail strats and jazzmasters. even if its just 1 or 2 items here and there.
You're not alone I prefer hardtail strats myself I have eight stratocasters six of them are hardtail. If I get stuck with a tremolo strat I'm the guy who puts a block of wood in it. Smack that bridge straight to the body so it ain't moving.
This was very informative. Besides that, Considering your comments, I am sure that many folks go for warmoth for the extra fret(s), but you really have so much more to offer. That suggests to me you have a HUGE untapped market because most folks aren’t interested in those hangovers. For one, I need to keep my neck relief on the spot. Granted, yours don’t move much but they all move (basses - my warmoth guitar necks never needed adjustment). Anyway thanks again for great content and products. Peace.
This is interesting. I always looked at the stock items as where the limitations lie, but actually there are treasures there you can't get hy ordering custom. Cool man.
@@schmoemi3386 Now, six months later, after returning two custom necks, I had to choose from the showcase. Rather not say why, except, to be diplomatic, they have really nice necks on the showcase.
Being old school (seriously, old!), I am set in my ways for the most part. I've ordered using the build option, and from items in stock. I (like others) browse the in stock offerings because it is like the Christmas catalog (as Brad Easley commented) from my childhood and "teenhood" ('50s & '60s). I have found much of what I envisioned in stock. I still have one "perfect" guitar in mind which will only be from a custom build, but thanks to Warmoth, it is completely obtainable.
I've got 2 Warmoth Strat necks that I've ordered thru the custom build page - just my experience, but it's an easy process with a really well done user interface that helps guide you through the available options and a genuinely great product has been the end result both times...Warmoth makes really good stuff IMHO...appreciate these vids too, very informative and well done.
Look Aaron, to me your showcase is a treat! I don't have the kind of money to build a guitar every year, but I go quite regularly to see what kind of crazy ideas you had and get surprised almost every time!
Thanks for the info! I ordered mine custom bc I couldn’t find what I wanted in stock. I did, however, wonder why there were in stock items, and didn’t realize there will be some exciting unique pieces!!! Now I’ll be watching!
Stay safe Aaron, great videos, love the factory tours. I was taken round the old place, I think, in 1992 and again in around 2000 by Ken. Best wishes to everyone at Warmoth.
I love my Warmoth body and neck. In fact my neck is unfinished Canary wood. I love playing on this neck, it's smooth as butter. You can't go wrong with Warmoth...Love it...
@Warmoth Guitar Products I've been more than happy with my modern construction roasted maple tele neck. The stainless frets were perfectly playable straight from the box. Great video content too. Keep up the good work guys. 🤙🤙🤙
About to order my first warmoth build. Can’t wait, trying to figure out if I want a short scale bass or a p bass 34”, I want a fender style headstock but I can’t get that in short scale. It’s totally gonna be worth the wait to have a custom bass that’s one of a kind. Let us hear your original music. Thanks!
Thanks for these videos. Informative and amusing. I've been buying Warmoth products for close to 20 years. I always do necks custom order, but I prefer to buy bodies from the showcase because I can control weight, which is my most important aspect. A custom body could be way heavier than I was expecting so i don't chance it. Cheers!
Thanks so much Aaron for the update, and for keeping these videos coming! It's keeping my spirits up for sure. I placed an order the first week of March for a custom neck as a replacement for one of my favorite Teles. It's also my first order from Warmoth! Although I will say that it's quite possible that I've spent more time on the Warmoth website then even regular customers over the last several years haha! Finally pulled the trigger, and am super stoked for that day when it finally comes. Definitely a devastating situation we're all going through, and hoping all at Warmoth are safe and healthy. We're on a shutdown here in Minnesota until May 4th as well, fingers crossed. Even though my music career is on hold, my day job is considered critical manufacturing and my girlfriend is in healthcare. Very fortunate to still be working! Just wish I could be building a guitar with all this extra down time...haha! Oh well. I'll be eagerly waiting for things to get back to normal, and you can get some cool guitar parts out the door. We'll get through this!
I wish I could order my dream guitar, but my idea of my dream guitar changes every week or so! Thanks Aaron for showing everything Warmoth has to offer, you give me new ideas in each videos
Surprised you didn't mention that items in the Showcase are typically a lot cheaper than ordering something identical through the custom builder. That's probably why some people try to wait to see if it pops up there, especially bodies.
Hay sending our love from Australia, I have brought from Warmoth befor and it’s still my favourite guitar (built better than my fenders and Gibson’s) can’t wait to place an order soon- love the videos keep up the great work 😊
Crazy question. What’s the main reason we don’t see some route/bridge options for all body shapes? Stuff like three tele bridge pickup routes for a tele, various pickup routes for jaguar/jazzmaster/mustang or some more bridge options for let’s say the mustang (though I assume trems are difficult since the body is thin). After all, when the chef’s good, you might want to go off menu :)
These videos are awesome!! I have learned so much more about Warmoth from these videos. Keep up the good work. I also love all your personal builds they are great.
great explanation. I always wondered if the stock stuff was unsold, cancelled, or goofed up stuff..... maple fretboard when customer meant to order rosewood.
Had bought both in-stock and custom build to order bodies and neck. As Aaron said for common specs body or neck its much faster to get the in-stock stuff. I did a custom build to order body and neck because the spec on that I know will take a long time to be available in-stock or it will never be available altogether. Much faster and easier to go build to order route if you have a very specific thing in mind. Both route gives you excellent results 👍😉
I bought a Warmouth Showcase strat neck w/ a rosewood fret board and 12-16 radius modern construction neck... OMG... it is absolutely fantastic.. Sounds like a strat but plays incredible..
I love checking out the Showcase bodies and necks. Like getting the Victoria Secret catalog. Only your stuff is way more sexy than anything they have! lol Warmoth rocks.
... 04/11/2020: I have a BIG question for you. I want to mix a Stratocaster and Telecaster into one guitar. I would like all the comfort of a Stratocaster (belly cut, rest arm cut, contoured heel). I do not want single-coil 3-Strat Pickups (PUs). Instead, I could get a custom made pickguard (custom.com) to fit the Stratocaster body, but have two Fender Noiseless PUs holes cut in the pickguard, and a 3-way PU switch without the long metal Telecaster plate. It would be set up to look like Stratocaster. Now I would have to look, the comfort of a Stratocaster, but the sound of a Telecaster. I would also purchase from you the neck with stainless steel fret wires. However, I am concerned about the distance of the Noiseless PUs "could" or "would" not" be exactly same distances as in a Telecaster. I believe (not sure) a different distance other than what an original Telecaster has between the noiseless PUs, and a different distance from neck, and a different distance from the bridge could all "change" the Telecaster sound. It all has to be spaced out exactly like a Telecaster. So, put all this together ... Is this possible?
Hi Aaron, great meeting you at NAMM last year. I have a question I did not ask you that day. Are your necks ready to just install and other than trust rod adjustment do they need to be finished? fret leveling de-burring etc... thanks
By "finished" do you mean having a finish applied, or are you referring only to the fretwork? As far as frets, they are playable out of the box. That said, of course a pro fret job will only make them better. Watch this for me info: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-BPEyn7t6nUU.html
Looking for a roasted maple tele neck in the showcase (with a boat neck profile)... lots of vintage builds but in 7.5 radius... Why no 9.5 or compound... it seems they are all 7.5... just curious, are many people still wanting 7.5 now a days? BTW, thank you for the videos. I do enjoy them.
Hey Aaron … thanks so much for this… I have had such fantastic service from Warmoth, especially recently wit the help of Justin. I really do appreciate all the time it takes to make these videos for us. I hope when this current situation is over you keep this up… are any other members the warmth team producing videos ???
Aaron you are spoiling us but please keep it up. When we go back to work we will miss the everyday videos so I would like to suggest something. Once Warmoth is open please try and give us 1 product video a week plus a short Q & A session each Friday. People can write in questions during the week and you can go over them each Friday. Here is my question for next week. I have been thinking of buying a chambered black Korina body and then applying a Tru-oil finish. If I buy a roasted Alder or Ash body instead of the Black Korina do they need to be finished or can I just leave the wood unfinished? I have an Ebony (Black) over roasted Maple neck. At first I didn't like the color of the roasted maple. I go crazy over the look of regular maple necks but now that I see how good the raw roasted maple neck feels I can't go back to a finished neck. So I was wondering if I could just match up an unfinished maple neck with an unfinished Alder or Ash body and just leave everything raw? Thanks. See you are growing the facial hair! It looks good. Have a good holiday.
Hey, I don't know if you sell them a lot and if it would be worth the time for you, but an update or a variation of your version of the shell pink color to make it less salmon and a bit more pastel/subtle could be amazing ! (cf. Asato's Suhr)
When I ordered my warmoth in the mid 90s, there was a website but to place an order meant getting a salesdude and several emails getting everything as close to what I wanted as possible. I wanted something, he would go to the woodpile and tell me if they had what I wanted. It sounds like this has now been lost, and you either have custom order with lots of what is there, or there isn't enough so they'll just take a nice piece of wood and make what they think I might want. It seems to me that something has been lost when you fired the salesdude.
Actually, we have a pretty robust customer service department (five employees), and they field calls and emails from customers all day, every day. Best customer service department in the biz, IMO.
I was set to order a roasted ash or alder Vintage Tele body from the builder, made to order function, but in comparing prices to the Showcase, I felt like an in-stock body was like getting a professional paint job for free.
Love your videos! Can you give a status update on that anniversary body? I'm reaaaaly interested in that carved heel joint contour as a standard option
It's because those builders take an incredibly long time to create and maintain. We simply never got to them all. We are currently working on a new site that will have visual builders for every model, and also necks. We are hoping it will be out this year.
If there is one thing that should be in stock permanently, it would be Stratocaster necks with the LSR nut already done. There are so many Stratocasters (Strat Plus, Stat Plus Deluxe, American Deluxe, Jeff Beck sig, etc...) that have this, and Fender doesn't even offer it. I wish there was some kind of search on the Warmoth website where you could order a replacement neck by referencing your guitar model and year to match specs, kinda like buying a part at the auto parts store, for those who aren't interested in custom stuff. Anything in the showcase is just going to get out faster than a custom job
Great videos man! I do have a question about the showcase though, I just ordered a neck from your site and I didn't know if you were still shipping things from the showcase now or if ur waiting till after the Washington shutdown ordered is relieved?
kick ass shirt, SCORPIONS 🦂 and the album covers on the wall nice 👌 I saved some cool posters to show my kids and they just don't understand. oh well so I hung them up in my cave.cool
I've been wondering, which neck feels the most similar to ESP's Thin U neck? It is my favorite neck shape of all time and ESP uses a 1.650 nut size. Which Warmoth neck do you think would get me closest to that feel? I also saw that you have an ESP E-II ST in the background :) Been loving the videos and answering our questions btw! I plan on ordering a Warmoth neck and body soon, sorry for all the questions haha
Could you do a video on tuner hole sizes? I never know if my after market tuners are going to fit any of Warmoth's options. Mainly Ratios and hipshots.
Hey man i really want one of your necks but i really need an HSS strat wiring schematic. I'm dying for one of your 60s vintage strat necks. Thanks for the video.
Hey Aaron, loving the videos! I had a question, if I wanted to order a replacement neck for a Fender Starcaster reissue, would warmoth be able to custome make a Strat-style neck with the star/mooncaster style neck joint? Also love the chair, I have the same one and I agree it's great for guitar playing thanks to the lifting arms! Cheers : )
I’m gonna have to get a Warmoth very soon. Do you guys make a Squire ‘51 neck? Not sure if you know, but It’s a Tele shape neck/Strat body, & is VERY comfortable design. Get one & you’ll see what I mean, the Squire ‘51 was a limited, no longer in production model, that was the very first Squire designed guitar that now has a cult following. Also, The bodies are thinner (basswood) than MIA/MIM Strats.
The closest we do is probably our Hybrid Strat® replacement body. Check it out: www.warmoth.com/Pages/ClassicShowcase.aspx?Body=2&Type=94&Path=Stratocaster,Hybrid&?mobile=no
Hey there! I've noticed that the showcase bodies have been severely reduced. I used to really enjoy looking through all the bodies and necks and picking something out from the complete pieces. Is there any effort to start to restock that showcases as the shutdown eases? I have a really hard time visualizing projects on the builder so I really like to see something that is done. Particularly the arch top soloist. ;)
This explains it: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-1yDaXkG2mKs.html The status today is the same as it was a year ago when that video was made. Normal....what is normal? :)
