i remember first hearing in the air tonight when i was like 5 and being disappointed it wasn't the swamp song from donkey kong. that sentiment has stayed with me whole life, i vocalize it almost every time i hear the song. i feel so supremely understood now. thank you. this is a video i would have made had you not.

I went in with no expectations and I thought it was... pretty okay. =P I think the ideas had some potential that the mix didn't quite live up to. I remember playing DKC 2 Constantly when I was a kid. I never had any idea who Phil Collins was, but In the air tonight was obviously always playing on the radio so I heard it a bunch and every time I made it to Krem Quay, I just knew they sounded super similar. Glad to see I'm not the only one who grew up with that magic!

Crazy that it’s been 12 years! I found this in high school and would listen to it in the library because it was my only access to RU-vid at the time (since my mom had it blocked at home.) I seriously will fucking stand by this being the best way to listen to Coming in the Air Tonight. The ambience is a small touch but it adds a lot and when the SFX become more melodic after the iconic drum beat it becomes absolutely amazing and more impactful. I know this game was technically on the SNES but I never knew it would work so well with a member of Genesis lmao.
