She sure is coming along nicely. Could you either message me or sometime on a video explain the uses of martengales and draw reins? When you use them, why you use them etc.. Well not really YOU in general I'm talking why they are used in the horse world. I'm working my soon to be 3 yr old and he really seems to nose out for some reason and wonder if it would help. But then I see so many conflicting opinions on the matter. Any help would be great . XOXOX
First off, they can be overused and you'll get the opposite problem of nosing out. Basically, it is a pivot point for the reins to encourage the horse to move their heads in a specific place. Without them, you are pulling their head up, unless you like having your hands by your knees, haha!
Okay I'm here to bug the heck outta you. When I say jiggle the reins or the slightest bit of pressure on them, my silly boy shakes is head like really fast like he likes to hear the noise or make his lips flap. I shit you not
