I've always wondered about the authenticity of this. Were they really in the dark? See, what made me really question it was the Channel 5 version. I used to watch that every week, and there were some dubious moments. The standout one, was some woman and bloke. I think they were working together on a task. She pointed to something, he looked exactly towards where she'd indicated, then he turned and nodded yes in response. I must admit that they do seem to have that correct distant stare in their eyes in this pilot episode. But they don't always seem to be as cautious as I'd imagine them to be, moving around in an unlit room with hazards. My suspicion, certainly for the Channel 5 series, is that they had a very low level of lighting, just enough to see the dangers, and hammed it up like they were completely blind to it.
