As unlikely as it seems, The Pop Tarts were quite fond of the raucous rantings of The Singing Peek Sisters. Video from the Pyramid Club dressing room in July of 1988 by Nelson Sullivan
RuPaul knows that these videos are on here. So inspiring to see a young, idealistic RuPaul just starting out vs the wise and battle-hardened RuPaul of today.
If RuPaul doesn't occasionally pull these videos up and humble herself with the memory of walking through the meatpacking district in football shoulder pads covered in toilet paper and a giant mohawk calling out everyone she sees in the street for a quarter so she can get a slice of pizza, she should. Especially after that Architectural Digest tour of her mansion in Hollywood, God knows she needs an occasional respite from _that_ fantasy.
Good God, if that isn't an acid trip, surely it's the earliest sign of the apocalypse. RuPaul, Tabboo!, Lahoma, Nelson, DeAundra Peek - AND THE DELRUBIO TRIPLETS?! Is this the _Pee-Wee's Playhouse Christmas Special?!_
No, people in their 40s today would have been little children in the 80's. The people in this video would be in their late 50s now and onward... luckily most are super successful and well today
And they threw it all Away. There the 42nd street Fudge Packers.they headlined the smaller venues on the east side in the mid 80's with the Skid Marks opening up for the Packers.the front man Peter Bobber died doing of all things Bungee jumping in Ohio when the line snapped Sending Peter 250 feet to his death below.sad day for the Skid Marks.
If you're the guy who originally filmed all this stuff in the 80's, and are uploading it now, I have a question for you. What's it like being an old man, watching videos you took in your youth?
Nancy B Not at all rude. I'm genuinely curious, because this man would've been one of the first people ever to have recorded parts of his young life, and can vividly look back on them. I wonder what that's like.
