Haha a great case of "false friends". In case some viewers are puzzled by the title of this video: the German word "Fagott" means "bassoon" in English.
All through highschool I giggled that me and my buddies all blew fagotts for 4 years. It's a silly name. Especially on the German scores. Fagott *pp very soft*
Fascinating that while their clarinets are 80% CAD-CAM produced, the bassoons seem to be almost entirely handmade -- even to drilling the key posts with that wobbly hand-guided drill. Not play-tested, though?
originally Ivory was used as the decorative embellishments on the end or bell joint of a bassoon but seeing as how Ivory or the use of it is outlawed in most European countries and the Western world it is generally done with a plastic resin.
Kinda perturbed that I can find NOTHING about this company on the web I DO NOT want to EVER go through Thoman distributors they are crooks . I just bought an Alto recorder on auction i want to know more about . WHERE IS YOUR WEBPAGE ???!
